Alex Stornello Biography
Alex Stornello studied rock and fusion guitar at the Musicians Institute in London, UK. He had lessons by Frank Gambale, who inspired him to develop his own style.
He later attended the Guitar Institute in the Thames Valley University of London with Shawn Baxter. He obtained a diploma in jazz/metal-oriented guitar style.
He also specialized following several stages with players like Scott Henderson, Mike Stern, Joe Diorio, Mick Goodrick, Garrison Fewell, Allan Holdsworth...
He has over 30 years of experience producing seminars and clinics in Italy and Europe , including teaching in various schools in Italy, where he developed the curriculum for Rock/fusion and Jazz/fusion Guitar, and the Contemporary Jazz class at the Italian Conservatory of music.
Alex is the President of Modern Music Institute one of the most important music school in Italy with more than 50 schools.
He wrote monthly didactic column on the Italian Guitar Magazine “Guitar Club” and AXE Magazine, Chitarre.
He's been one of the first Italian endorser of Dean Guitars then Washburn and Parker Guitars and Laney, Hughes and Kettner amp and now is proudly again one of the main Italian Dean Guitars endorsers.
The first solo CD "Musical Thought", where he duets with the legendary guitarist Frank Gambale, was a great success and it has been requested by fans all over the world (USA, Russia, China, Japan, France, Germany, England, Spain).
His second CD "Standhards" (with Jimmy Weinstein on drums) was produced by "Philology", an Italian label that has many of the most important artists of the African American Jazz.

Several new DVDs are due to be released soon as guide for the MMI Guitar curriculum. As artistic producer Alex has produced several videos highlighting new talents as Andrea Martongelli “Arthemis”, Daniele Gottardo “Favored Nation artist”.
His group opened the concerts for a number of great players like the Chad Wackerman Group, Allan Holdsworth Group, Steve Vai, and Jennifer Batten, Vinnie Moore, Omar Hakim band.....
He is proud of being jamming with the legend of fusion guitar Allan Holdsworth and performing with Darryl Jones and Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez and many more as Greg Howe , Virgil Donati, Carl Verheyen.
