Dean ads I made

I was sitting around the house one day when my bassist and other
guitarist came over with their deans so we took some pics and i edited
them! what do you guys and girls think?
Playing music I can't stand listening to.
So,I've been playing a little over a year now.I've been concentrating on a little bit of metal but mostly blues, hard rock stuff (which is what I typically listen to).A few weeks ago,I finally accepted that I just can't deal with a full size ML so I traded my beautiful Select for a guitar I never thought I'd go for-a Fender MIM Telecaster Custom.
The trouble is that now I'm feeling like Steve Martin in "The Jerk", when he first hears that whitebread jazz on the radio and starts snappin' his fingers and convulsing in a disgusting manner. The tele is great because suddenly I can hear everything I'm doing so clearly which has me playing better and longer. But it all sounds so country-which I never listen to.
For now,I can't fight it because it has opened up a new side to the guitar I couldn't see before. On the other hand, every time I pick up one of my dual humbucker geets lately I have to put it down because it seems so muddy.Suddenly,my MIM strat I never used to play seems to be my tool of choice for the heavy and my Deans are getting dusty.I hope this is just a phase.
Shred Techniques: UPDATE: OCTAVE CHORDS
Open String Pedal Tones
Hey guys,
I decided a few days ago I might as well start a little miniseries here, just to teach people a few of the techniques I use - so you can get better, faster, have a few cool licks in your arsenal and just for overall practice.
So this is my first installment, and we're gonna be looking at using open strings as pedal notes. I've also included some soundclips for download so you can hear what the excersises should sound like.
Remember to play cleanly and slowly, working your way up and you'll be ripping in no time!
Exercise one just uses three notes, the open high E, G# and A. You can play it with a pick, or with legato but I choose to use a pick as it adds more definition.

Exercise two is similar, but it moves up and down a scale. This particular exersise an sound very cool when played fast.
Another thing to remember, is to use more than one finger while playing these, as it'll increase speed and dexterity. You're only cheating yourself if you use one finger for every note.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5OZCD9ZJ - Exercise two fast
Exersise three is the hardest of the three, it comprises open strings as pedal notes, as well as a harder pedal starting on the 9th fret on the G string. Just to top it off, there's a little tapped sweep arpeggio at the end.
Again, as with exercise two, this sounds extremely cool when played fast, but this one generally tends to sound good even if it's slow.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9QOZT12Y - Exercise three fast
Again, as stated before - play each one in time, cleanly and work your way up with a metronome and you'll be shredding the paint off the walls in no time!
Let me know if you'd like to get a few more installments from me, and I'll work something up.
Spread the shred!

ok, so as you probably could've guessed from the title I'm having a little difficulty with that little appendage so many of us musicians either love or hate...
the pinky...
the problem this little...well...pinky keeps giving me is that I seem to be unable to use it in anything played above a moderately fast pace...
that's not to be said that I can't use it, just not at a fast pace...
whenever I find myself needing to hit a note with it, the pinky just seems to be on a separate page from my three other fingers...
everytime I try and use it I keep having to put extra effort into its movement...
anybody got any suggestions or exercises to help remedy my predicatment?
