Currently on his 7th tour of the States & Canada in the last 3 years with the 'Strawbs', a band he originally joined in 1973, Chas has a long history of playing in progressive rock bands, along with many other styles of music that his session work has taken him into - from Rick Wakeman to Celine Dion. After playing on Wakeman's 'Six Wives of Henry the Eighth' album, Chas spent the rest of that decade with 'Strawbs' spending many months on the Billboard charts with albums like 'Hero & Heroine' & 'Ghosts', touring extensively in North America with bands like Santana, Frank Zappa, King Crimson & Blue Oyster Cult.

During the 80's & 90's, Chas went on to play in the Steve Hackett Band & again recorded & toured with Rick Wakeman before forming a duo called 'Cry no More' with Roy Hill, an underated band that acheived single success in Germany. Alongside his songwriting, Chas has also gone on to write music for TV & films.

Back with 'Strawbs' for the last few years, the band continues to record & tour in both acoustic & electric formats. Recent releases include 'Live at Nearfest' (the progressive rock festival which the band headlined), 'Painted Sky' & currently a collaboration with Strawbs guitarist Dave Lambert called 'Touch The Earth' by 'Lambert Cronk', as well as a new solo album by Strawbs leader Dave Cousins that Chas played on. A coming highlight this August is an appearance at the legendary Cropredy Festival in the U.K.

Chas plays a Dean Edge Pro bass, a Dean Performer Acoustic bass & a Dean Performer 12 String guitar.
