Biography

"I pride myself as a being a nuts & bolts player. I believe in function over form, play the song, don't try to be the song.In my 33 years of professional recording and touring, I have come to know what I expect from an instrument. My Dean basses and guitars have exceeded my expectations. Considering the multi-genre influences of today's country music, versatility and dependability in an instrument are a must.

I have been a songwriter, bandleader, and bassist with country music superstar Toby Keith for the last 16 years. I've won a BMI songwriting award for "You Ain't Much Fun". I also co-wrote "Upstairs Downtown". Both of these songs were number one hits. With album sales in excess of 20 million units, and record setting concert crowds, I won't play another bass guitar!
