dimes dean of destiny
by marker on Sun Nov 08, 2009 12:55 am
I read this article about buddy building the dfh a while back and I remember a few pics of it during buddy's construction. The floyd looked way lopsided. I just looked that article back up and it just shows the dfh painted with no bridge. Anyone have pics of buddys' guitars that he was building along with the dfh. Seems like one was polka dot. anyways the question is in pics of the dfh, the bridge does not look as crooked when dime had it as it was in the other pics I saw when Buddy was building. it. I am just wondering if the floyd was moved later? Just curious

im a guy that sees signs everywhere
by lordkronos187 on Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:25 am
cant be helped especially with that day just over a month away. im getting a little edgy. i still have a hard time with it.

my 3 year old came running up to me and says "my penny, my penny!"

i look and he has a single dime in his hand minted 1981.

Dime, dean from hell guitar year 1981, i dont know that it means anything but it gave me pause. that and im seeing 333 everywhere lately...

i dunno. i felt compelled to share.

Dime's stacks on stage?
by DeanLover on Thu Nov 05, 2009 6:44 pm
Hi.

On Slayer photos you can see the walls of marshall stacks and as we know Dime had the same. He had walls of randalls like on this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5_BTGES-U0&feature=related for example.
Just wondering how many stacks was he using... (or he was using, don't sure ;P)

Time ago i heard that Dime had tube amp with flanger/doubler for better clean whitch randalls didn't have. So i think it could be one stack for this.

So... talk mode on Smile
My tribute to Dime (RIP)
by Armando on Thu Nov 05, 2009 6:04 pm
Hello! Here's some pics of my Vendetta 1.0 with some cool Dean/Dime decals I found online. It still has the stock pups which I think sound very decent for the $125.00 I payed for the guitar but I'm thinking about maybe putting in something more "Dime". If anybody has any pup suggestions of the lowest budget kind I would appreciate it.

RG 100ES foot switch problem, help!
by NOgirlsNOdogs on Tue Oct 27, 2009 5:29 am
Hi there,
I won a RG 100 ES on ebay, it came with the original footswitch. But I still have trouble till now. When not connect it, the Randall sounds both chanels. When connect the footswitch, I can still hear the sound of chanel A go through even when I switch to chanel B, but the B's sound is louder. The text on the footswitch is can't be read so I don't know why it have 2 button for just switch A/B?.
Can anyone help me? Thanks so much!

far beyond driven tone
by marker on Sat Oct 24, 2009 3:00 am
Anyone here able to get that Far Beyond Driven tone? It's a unique beast since he was running three different halfstacks. It doesn't have that vulgar crunch to it. It's way different tonewise, IMO. Anyone tried doing what he did, running three different amps with different sounds. I remember him saying one was set up regular, one was set up dry and one had the flanger doubler. One sounded great, one sounded bassy, and the other one sounded hollow. If I remember right.

Need opinions, and picture ideas....
by gunslinger on Wed Oct 14, 2009 1:23 pm
I've been working on a sleeve (tattoos) for about a year now, just getting a little bit at a time, my main focus of this sleeve has been horror/scifi and want to continue in that vein, only 2 pieces of it are "normal" pics, the rest are drawings my daughter did when she was 2 & 5, so.... my idea is to incorperate a tribute to Dime in with all of it, I was thinking of doing a pic of Dime as a Zombie, to keep in the the horror theme.....

What do you guys think of this idea?

I wanted to do something abit original, as opposed to the normal tattoo tributes I've seen.

Got any picture ideas? wanna try to find one that not the standard Dime pic.

Thanks for your input....

Pics of Dimes guitars at Namm
by EarCandy on Tue Oct 06, 2009 2:29 pm
I was goofing around on you tube the other day and ended up enthrawled in some dime vids. I ended up exchanging a few emails with a guy and we were talking about Dime, I mentioned these pics that I took at the 2005 Namm show in Indianapolis and he said I should post them here that there is people that would appreciate it.
quick note, this namm show was pretty cool, I was in a good mood, checking out gear, hung out with Kerry King for a minute (anyone could, he was just standing there at the BC booth) ran into Bataio at the tradition booth, then I ran into this, the Dimebag tribute set up, it wiped me out. I couldnt stop looking at it, I walked around it for about a hour, then went into the PRS booth and that was such a different world... I got so bummed I went out of the convention center and hung out with a homeless guy under the overpass. and went home. I have a bunch of other pics from this show, but these are the pics of Dimes stuff, so out of the "my pics" folder and onto you guys where they belong, sorry I didnt think of this earlier.

neck angle
by marker on Sat Oct 03, 2009 2:20 am
does anyone own a buddy blaze ml? Was just wondering if the different neck angle and top mounted floyd made a big difference. I have always wished dean would make the same thing that dime had, the top mounted floyd, instead of the recessed. I think it would provied more sustain. Just thinking out loud.I tried out an evh wolfgang that was flat mounted and it did not float. seems to me dime could pull up a hell of a lot more without the recessed route. Watch the old videos like in moscow and see how far he pulls that bar back compared to washburn recessed tremsin live youtube videos. I'm telling you, it' could be the secret to the dime technique. I wish dean would start making the way that dime had it. Seemed to work the way he was doing it. I hate having my strings flap on the bridge pickup and kill the tone.

I swore I wouldn't make any more Washy threads but its killing me..

I'm going a little nuts looking for more pictures (and info) of this elusive URBAN Camo Bullseye 3ST. I first seen a pic of it last month for the first time.

I know very little about this Axe other than the fact that Zakk owns it & one version seems to have a matching head stock and the other does not..

If any one has any info (and or) quality large detailed pics of this FINE looking Axe then please either PM me or post what you got.

Sorry for making another 3ST thread guys, I just need your help is all..
