Its not much really but I wanted to do it and figured Id add as many links to all the other sites doing it as well. So if you know of anymore tribute sites of any sort throw them at me. Ill link them up along with the ones I got now.

Dime-O-Flame & Old School Black Dean guitar w/ Red bulle
So tonight I am watching some old Pantera bootlegs I have, and I just noticed something in this one when they were on tour with Skid Row....... you guys all know that Dean that Dime used to play in the Mouth For War video, the black Dean with the red bullet holes all over it ? Well it looks like it has the same logo on the bottom of the guitar, on the horn by the toggle switch as the Dime-O-Flame does. From what the guys at the Dean booth told me, this is a motorcycle shop's logo that custom painted the Dime-O-Flame.
Question is .... are they the ones who custom painted the Black Bullet Hole guitar? Not that it's really important, just makes for good Dime trivia ....
I don't know the name of the motorcycle shop (I forgot)
Here's the logo I'm talking about .....

there is a pawn shop here in town who has an explorer body-the neck is trash, sitting next to it is a jackson with the logo rubbed off-the body is trashed on the jackson. What do you guys think about a culprit style body with possibly a dean style head stock, painted like the DFH? Is that a sin?
New Guitar Legends Tribute to Dimebag

Tune-O-matic ---> Floyd Rose ???
does anybody know how to rip the tune-o-matic out of one of the MLs (I'm talking specifically about the DBD guitar) and put in a floyd rose? How much it would cost to get somebody else to do it? Is it hard to do?? Thanks
Neck pickup in the Dean from Hell...
I know that he had a Bill Lawrence xl500 in the bridge, but what what the neck pick up? I thought it was a seymore duncan, but I wasn't sure. Are the newest deans have the same neck pickups?
on Thu Mar 03, 2005 3:30 pm
Hey guys, I am doing a culprit copy, and was wondering if anyone has ever tried duncan distortion pickups. I would like to put something different than a bl in this one
vivian campbell's lightning nightswan
on Thu Mar 03, 2005 4:23 pm
I was looking around the net about info on buddy blaze and I found out he made vivian campbell a lightning bolt guitar. There is pics of it on www.vintagekramer.com/night.htm.
It looks like the same color as the dean from hell. I wish I could find that particular shade of blue. It would be hard to match cuz the color looks different from pic to pic.
on Thu Mar 03, 2005 4:38 pm
I was looking around last night for pics of a culprit and found several. There was a pic of dime sitting on his pool table with 2 culprits. 1 was red and the other was black. I noticed that both these guitars with floyds did not have the usual floyd rout. You can see it clearly on the red one. On another pic of a production culprit it has the floyd rout. Does anyone know why dime didn't like the recess. I know he played the new deans with recessed routs, but all his old ones were not routed all the way. wonder if it changes the action? Any thoughts?
Dimebag Merchandise is online...

Sience Dime came to San Diego with DamagePlan, that was the first time I saw him playing, because it was the first time i had money to go see him
sience then I've been wanting to get a CFH tat, but I just cant find a pic from his tat, or a good CFH logo, if anyone knows where to fing one please leave me the link, thanks guys
DFH 05 Limited Edition - Thoughts.
O.K., here I sit behind the "8 Ball" cuz I never got the chance to ORDER one! Freak!
150 Units Worldwide! Damn!
I guess the FBD will have to suffice!
Anyway, my thoughts, especially on a Limited Run situation like the DFH 05, why not build 'em as "Relics"??? Exact Replicas of the "Guitar to beat all Guitars", a True Tribute to the (Brotha) Man that has brought most of us here!!! I saw the DOA 05 Coverage showing Bloodroot picking on the DFH and the picture of Thor with it as well.................and it is a Beautiful Freaking Axe! and I'd about sell my 71 Nova and 396 for one. But, it is too NEW looking, where are the Burn Marks on the Headstock from where Dime or his Guitar Tech used to light the Guitar on Fire, and where is the Writing "The........From Hell" on the Dean Logo? How about the Picture of KISS and all that missing Paint showing its Maroon ML Beauty below???
That would be the one for me!
Just my thoughts! Anyone Order two of these that feels they'd like to help a Dime Fan out? Whimper, whimper.
Today it arrived... My first Dean guitar, ML79.
Oh man... Did I get stunned
. I love everything about it, except for the saddle which is made of plastic and the p-ups are not so great either (but still pretty good). Otherwise I do love the set-in neck which have the same feel as the neckthru guitars have, braziliaburst finish is lovely and of course the great looking headstock.
I bought it for 3995 swedish crowns which is about $450, which is not so much.
Ive allways loved the Dean ML models, but never could get hold on one because the Deans are pretty rare here in Sweden, until now.
So now I am a happy owner of a great Dean guitar.
Well... That's all folks
Which one should i get?!?!?!
1 in trans brazil burst
2 in black
I am leaning towards 1, but i am still not sure. I want the More expensive Dimebag tribute (the cherry burst one) but cant afford it, so im thinking about getting 1 and putting a dimebag sticker on it. What do you guys think?
im paying almost $2,600 for the dime fbd and the dime-o-flame. how much am i suppose to be paying?
Confederate Flag Paintjob
do any of you guys know where I can get one of these done professionally to my dime 3? like the trendkill era confederate flag with a red headstock
the only place i seen so far was trillian guitars and it was gonna be like 500,
it doesnt have any body binding or anything too complicated, also is it possible to have a new logo put on it after its done
Anyone ever try the Dime Distortion pedal? Hows the gain on it? I currently use a Boss Metal Zone and Im starting to not like it and thinking about trying that one out. Any thoughts?
did dime ever do cocaine?
My mom won't let me get a razorblade necklace cuz the whole chopping cocaine thing and when i say it is a tribute to dime which it is she just says that his name was dimebag thats what his was prolly for. then i say it was from his wife as a gift then she says that she was prolly on coke too. I was just wondering because i can show her becuase u r all prolly hardcore dimebag fans like me in just dont really care what drugs he did. I know phil was on just about everything but in another post it says that dimebag was just a heavy metal name and it had to do nuthing with pot. this could really help me out. thanks in advance.
dime-o-flame on ebay/dime question
decent price but its being sold under washburns section of dime models and it isnt from an actual dean dealer as far as i know
since im posting that ive been meaning to ask; did dime know how to read music?? i know he only took like one actual guitar lesson so i wasnt sure if he learned on his own how to read it or if he just played without reading music
still looking on ebay and found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33048&item=7304372518&rd=1
never seen it before..figured id post it on here too
Look at the beauty
... The guitar that is (Not the ugly bastard who's holding it, ME!)
I got it yesterday and I am very pleased with it.
I will just uppgrade it with some new p-ups and a new saddle.
A pair of of EMG's (81, 89), or Bill Lawrence 500XL And 1 Duncan 59 should make it perfect.
This is my seventh guitar and it's definitely one of my favorite guitars, right after my Jackson Kelly USA Custom Shop.
Perhaps someday I'll buy a 79MLF or a dime-o-flame and just switch the crappy floyd with an Original Floyd.
Well... That's all folks!
Talk about a surreal moment...
I wasn't expecting to see guitars that Darrell actually owned and played, never the less hold one he played. So it was really a strange feeling holding one that he owned, played, and was broken when he left us.
This is the 79 ML-F that was offstage during the shooting that was broke in half.
is the cavity for a floyd rose identical to that of a regular tremolo bridge (for example, a strat with a tremolo)? If so, could I rout a cavity for my '79 ML with templates for a strat with a tremolo bridge?
after i save for the FBD guitar i plan on gettin a half stack.
i want a marshall cab but their heads are high priced, would it be a wise decision to get a warhead for it?
I click for the video and all that comes up is Part 1.
Does it happen to seem to anyone else that there are now more than ever "boogiestreet" Dime guitars on eBay?
I am seeing these both around and noticed that there are 2 versions for each of them called a PQ-4B and PQ-3B which is a balanced version of the regular PQ-4 and PQ-3. What is the difference? What makes it balanced or unbalanced and which version if anyone knows did Dime use?
I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE PIC IN THE POST BUT IF YOU GO TO USER PICS ON PAGE TEN I THINK ITS THE FIFTH ONE FROM THE LEFT, TOP LINE.ITS NOT DONE YET.LIGHTNING WILL WRAP AROUND MY LEG AND CONNECT TO A DIMESLIME ON THE INSIDE OF MY LEG. HE WILL ALSO THROW SOME FINISHING TOUCHES ON THE ONE YOU SEE.
Interesting Story - To Me Anyway............
This past Saturday we took our "Lil Guy" who is 6 to the Ontario Science Center (Which is exactly that, a Science Center, History, Knowledge and Fun Science related activities, Oh Yeah and Imax Omnimax Theater). Anyway, we are cruising through the "Kids Zone" and there is a little Room that has Music in it and a Projector of sorts and what do I see emblazoned on the wall behind where the Kids can pretend they are Rock Stars???
I know it is not a Dean, but in the Background there is a Sublime Green (Dime Slime) "Culprit" Outline!!!! Then I looked a little Closer at the Wooden Guitars they have for the Kids to play, Yup, 60% are Mini "Culprits".
Anyway, as a Dime Fan I thought it was pretty wild and thought I would share! Next Time, I bring the Camera
anybody gettin the razorbacks in here?
just seein if anyone in here is gettin a razorback usa tribute guitar.
Dean from hell serial number
In one pic posted under "original Dfh Pic & story" by Jonbagz http://deanguitars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7239
, you see the serial number of the dean from hell is 8103093. What date (day, month and year) of production would that make?
just whant to know your opinion about this amp, i`m planning to buy a Randall...
THE DIME SHIRT ...... Oh brother
This is great advertising for the screenprinter that's making them, and for this guy's band
on Tue Mar 08, 2005 9:28 pm
Will all the proceeds from the sale of the Dean from Hell go to the Memorial fund? Will any proceeds from any Dime guitar sold go to some sort of foundation? If not I assume the $ goes to Rita and Vinnie.
Does anyone have an answer to this? Just curious.
tonight marks four months since dime was killed. What are you guys planning on doing?
take a look
on Wed Mar 09, 2005 12:32 am

dime tattoo question
on Fri Mar 11, 2005 8:56 am
Has anyone seen the pictures of Dime when he is with Phil and he has a tat on his stomach that says Clubbed Up! ? I was wondering if that is a real tat or something he did to poke fun at phils unscarred tat. Just curious.
Original MOLLY HATCHET Singer DANNY JOE BROWN Dead At 53
very sad indeed i did get to see him one time though when i was about 9 years old in concert with blackfoot. rip danny
The southern rock family was dealt a huge blow on
March 10 with the passing of original MOLLY HATCHET
singer Danny Joe Brown. He had only just been released
from hospital, after treatment for pneumonia and other
ailments, but died upon his return home. He was 53
Although earlier, established acts initially disputed
the fact that MOLLY HATCHET was a southern rock band,
it's fair to say that the Jacksonville, Florida group
was the first to take the spirit of the genre and kick
its butt with an infusion of classic heavy metal. The
formula worked and the band's presence soon rose to
that of international platinum status. European fans
in particular appreciated the band’s heavy use of
guitar riffing and distinctive Frank Frazetta album
Named after a 17th century axe murderess, Abigail
"Hatchet Molly" from Salem, MOLLY HATCHET's
self-titled Tom Werman-produced debut album was
released in September 1978. It had been intended for
MOLLY HATCHET's debut to be produced by LYNYRD SKYNYRD
frontman Ronnie Van Zant, but his untimely death in a
1977 plane crash put paid to these plans. The record
would eventually earn platinum status for one million
U.S. sales, as did the follow-up Top-20 album,
"Flirting With Disaster", released a year later.
Brown was forced out of the band due to diabetes, but
made his comeback on 1983's "No Guts...No Glory" and
1984's "The Deed Is Done". MOLLY HATCHET briefly
disbanded after Epic issued the storming "Double
Trouble Live" set in 1986, due to Brown's diabetes
disabling him once again. MOLLY HATCHET reformed with
Brown in 1988 and recorded the "Lightning Strikes
Twice" set for new label Capitol. However, in later
years Phil McCormack took over the vocal reigns as
Brown's illness advanced.
MOLLY HATCHET's latest release was a 2004 set of
re-recorded 25th anniversary tracks. The band is still
constantly on the road in the U.S. and Europe.
been wondering..do any of you know how dime did those open string harmonics. like the ones at the end of cemetary gates.

does anyone of you have a good clear pic of dime's black tooth grin tattoo or can provide a link???

Need Dimebag merchandise stuff
I'd really like to purchase some of those Dime tribute shirts from the deanshop.com but since I'm from Germany it's simply not possible cos they don't ship overseas. I already looked on american ebay but at the moment there's no one who offers original dean stuff. Only those unapproved self-made stuff that looks very ugly in most cases.
Is there a possibility to get it somehow? Maybe a kind person here on the board who likes to act as intermediary for me?
(It's actually already hard to find a Dean guitar here in Germany - so I only own a WB Dime333
The solo for "The Sleep" on CFH and Slash from GNR
Has anyone heard the Solo for "November Rain" by Guns and Roses, that solo Slash plays is EXTREMELY similar to the solo Dimebag plays on the song "The Sleep" from Cowboys from Hell (which came out a couple of years earlier than November Rain).
If you get a chance check it out.
No offense to Slash, but i think he stole a little there!
I have been pondering the question of what the best Dimebag riff is....and my answer. Since Dec. 8, 2004, listening to nothing but PanterA and Damageplan, I have a one word answer.......................
question about control pots on a dime333
was playing a while yesterday, and just got curious about the volume and tone knobs in my dime333. so i opened the back of it and seen what looked like to be 250k volume pots and some kinda capacitor on the tone control all 3 pots looked to be 250k.
But i thought all humbucker series run 500k pots, and not 250k, but i've read the 250k gives warmer tone, but if you wanna hear your axe wide open then get 500K pots.
just wonder if anyone else opened up there dime 333 guitars and just looked at the pots or the capacitors in them...
i think im gonna goto stew-macs website and order 3 new control pots 2 volumes and 1 tone 500ks.
p.s. after i get my bl L-500XL i wanna hear it in full throttle
then im gonna work on getting a duncan 59 for the neck pickup.
also would it be a good idea also to replace the input jack and the toggle switch?
thanks in advance

Live Pantera Videos
on Tue Mar 15, 2005 5:26 pm
Does anyone know if Pantera hsa any professionally filmed live footage in the can that could be released in the future on DVD. I have the Moscow clips but it would be neat to see an entire concert without special film effects from the Vulgar or FBD era.
another dean v beauty on the bay
came across this today same seller that had the ml io posted has this.
to bad my brokeass cant buy it
Bill Lawrence L-500XL or a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker for my new ML
cos i just bought it for the equivilant of $200 - almost new, the guy wanted to sell it cos he didt have enough room for all his guitars and this one didnt fit in cos all the others were black
i think its a bargain
what are your favorite lyrics. a whole song or just a phrase it doesn't matter. i dont know why but i like the lyrics for warnerve when its like :
"Expect the worse,
you bleeding heart,
but kill me first
before it starts,
yes my nub-rod is getting hard,
we are born different after all
No CNN or media now "
its just so sweet
I know its not dime nut of course its in a pantera song and phil was a great front man just talked s#%t about everybody
Florida Video or CDs from '93 to '97?
Im looking for anything out there that would be from any of the Pantera shows at West Palm Beach Auditorium, Miami Arena, or then the Coral Sky Ampitheater Ozzfest '97 Pantera stuff.
on Wed Mar 16, 2005 11:46 pm
Just recieved one of these,
Anyone got any good Doubling settings?
Apparently there was a pic in a guitar mag showing Dime`s settings anyone got that pic?
Do any of you know how much a Krankenstein head goes for? How about the cabinet? I'm in the market for a new amp and I've narrowed the selection down to the Krankenstein, Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier, Soldano SLO-100, and the Bogner Uberschall. I'm leaning towards the Krankenstein and the Dual Rectifier.
What was the best Pantera album ever made, and why?
I say it would have to be Vulgar display of power because you cant go wrong with classics like F****** Hostile, This Love, By Demons Be Driven, and Mouth for War
or save up 450 more for a dime-o-flame
im wondering unless the the pimp(dave at bass and treble) has anything. i have already pmed dave enough lately so i am asking you guys.

R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell
Anyone know which Arlington cemetery Dime's buried at?
on Thu Mar 17, 2005 2:16 pm
I realize it's a morbid topic, but I wanted to pay my respects in person if possible. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Ok I just got me a PQ-4 and hooked it up with myRandall RG100 am having a hell of a time dialing it in, I have it pretty close to what I want but it sounds like there is way to much mids. I am running it together with a Boss RGE-10 EQ with the PQ-4 first in line, and I have a HUSH pedal Im using between my guitar and amp ( dont know if thats where I should put it but it does quiet things down). I found that if you run the EQ's into the front of the amp you have tons of feedback and the sound is really crappy so I put the EQ's in the effects loop instead to see how it would sound and it seemed to improve it, heavier sounding but the mids I cant seem to scoop them out enough but when I do its not real punchy sounding, I basically try and get my sound of bass and punch by playing Mouth for War and Shedding Skin. I used to run a Boss Metal Zone pedal but Im trying to get rid of that and just use the Randall distortion, but the pedal is definately heavier sounding but way too much distortion rather than gain. I like the Randall distortion but cant seem to get it heavy enough. I know some of you have this same setup or similiar, any ideas on how I can beef up the sound of my Randall?
MY DIME TATTOO FROM HELL!!!
Check this out.. I just got this 2 days ago. 7 hours straight work! The DEAN from hell came out PROPER!!!!!!! Hope ya'll dig it!
retarded story but i felt like sharing it
there was once a time when i had never heard anything from great southern trendkill. i only listened to CFH VDoP and FBD. i heard 13 steps to knowwhere on this digital music station and i though HOLY hell thats heavy. it was scary because now thats one of my favorite songs.
Help from my Dime Bretheren!
Like a "Doughead" (Doh!) I kept putting off grabbing the Guitar Player and Guitar World Dimebag Issues (BIG Doh!).
Anybody here have extras to help a Brotha out?
or if you come across any still on the shelves I will re-imburse the cost of the Mags and shipping etc., I would just rather pay you guys than the "Evilbayers".
dont know about you guys

let me know what ya think
on Fri Mar 18, 2005 3:15 am
How the hell do you get all these alternate tunings?
I've tried dropped D sometimes but Im not great at using my
electronic tuner, I actually use a old fashoned pitch pipe (Sorry I'm a retard) Do you need 7 guitars all tuned to differently? You only get some much play on your fine adjustments on your Floyd Rose.
Hey i just got some more pics thru from the guy whos sending me it - he forgot a headstock shot but it is washburn (pointy style) think im gonna have to put the correct pickups in it
and black floyd
gonna be very cool once i've had my way with it anyways

My new tattoo
on Sat Mar 19, 2005 9:10 pm
I just got this today. Hope you guys like it
Anyone had a go at one of these yet? - if so they probably did better than me cos i got a crappy touch pad on my laptop lol
what is so bad about them? less tone? i have no problems what so ever. i dont own a set neck to know the advantages of them because i don't have a job. i am probably buying the dime-o-flame. I just dont know if i should stick with the bolt ons for now until I get enough money for the dime-o-flame. I am nowhere near to matching the skill on the axe like most you probably. I dont know what to do. TOO CONFUSED. i dont even own a guitar with a floyd except my first guitar which was a strat copy with the g a y tremolos that im selling for only 115 dollars soon. but i need a decent guitar because i want one with a floyd to replace my strat copy for now becuase i like having enough guitars. i think i might buy a charvel flying V its a set neck with a floyd, but its used with only one chip near the humbucker. any input is thanked.
i did not proofread this so if there is any major mistakes sorry.
Karamo from the real world wearing a Razor necklace
So I was watching the Real World end of the show get together on MTV and Karamo was wearing a razor necklace. All I could think of is this is the last person who would be wearing a razor necklace. For those who have or haven't watched the show, we had to listen to his rant on Hip Hop culture is his life and such the whole season. Maybe I am just dissapointed because he was such a whiny @#$!%.
Ok, thanks for hearing my rant
CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE BEST FBD MODEL PRICE THATS BEEN FOUND. SHIPPING AND ALL? THANKS!
Razorblade necklace ?
on Mon Mar 21, 2005 1:35 am
I've been wanting to get a razorblade necklace for ages so Im looking for one now.
Are the ones from IMOSH any good, I bought a Soundgarden necklace from them a few years back and it sucked big time so Im not sure................I dont mind paying reasonable money for one, I just dont want to buy some cheap crappy one.
I found a culprit for about $600 is it worth that? it doesnt really say dimebag to me but may have some selling on value.

thanks in advance
also heres a rough sketch i did showing how its wired right now
the little boxes like these I drew on the sketch is connectors that dont have wires on them.

Sad but True ...... Dimebag Kerrang Article
So today I just got the Kerrang you've all seen on eBay, with Dime on the front, saying "Metal's Darkest Day" .. here's the cover .....
Anyway, I'm reading a part of the article that just made me so sad, and upset to read, about fans kissing Dime's hands and feet after he was shot. It's a small part of the article, but I never knew that sad fact. I'll type it out below ..........
"One Eyewitness, food vendor Medhat Monkhtar, told MTV News that he made his way to the stage after the attack where a crowd had gathered around Dimebag Darrell. "I tried to push them away, but people were kissing his hands and his feet and trying to give him CPR."
Who's face is tattoed on Dime's left leg?
Seeing this makes me think about selling the two I have. I think I paid $949.00 after discounts.

Hey this might have been covered here already but does anyone know what his razor looks like? Just curious if it has the yellow and black or the red white and black?

BLS in Milwaukee review
on Thu Mar 24, 2005 6:52 pm
Thought I'd put this here.
First let me preface this with I don't know much about BLS other than my sons wanted to go and a friend had extra tickets so.....
Packed house and we barely got my youngest out of the pit before he was crushed
Don't know the song names so bare with here. Zakk opened up playing his Rhodes V while the other gtr was playing a Confederate 333 as well as a Southern Cross. No, not at the same time
Yes folks, Zakk broke out the Rust Razorback for 2 songs as well as a long speech about how Dime wanted him to go to NAMM so he could give him the Baddest Motherfu**** Guitar Ever. A moment of silence and then he tore it up. That guitar lives up to it's reputation and anyone who has one coming should be very proud right now
He also did an acoustic set while a table was set up on stage and , yes Rita came out with video camera and flmed while mixing Blacktooh Grins for the band
Later she walked right passed me but was gone by the time I recognized her, oh well.
A female band from Swede called Maldrum(I think) opened up. Very good and not hard to look at either
If you get the chance don't pass this show up.
The traction speed knobs, what are they made of?
I'm interested to know how dean replicated the traction knobs that Dime made for himself? I've yet to hear the story on how Dime came about making them, obviously it's for big sweaty hands on those gibson style speed knobs, since you'd slip like a MFer
I am curious to know, are they little nylon screws? I have little scres like that, but they don't look like screws from the top, they look hollow down the centre..
Biggest post for Dimebag!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I started this in the Zakk forum lets get it going here too
Just reply with #1
its for dimebag to show how many are still thinkin of him
My dime tribute collection...Only washburns at the moment

i really really want a dfh or 80/81 ml to add to it eventually
Cowboys From Hell: The Videos outro!
I was watching 3 vulgar videos from hell again yesterday and i yet again came across the hilariously(sp?) funny ending part where dimebag goes around the city jamming on his guitar asking for "your frippin money". ive tried to tab them but there are some parts which i jus cant figure out. the bits i cant figure out are:
Right at the beginning when he comes out of the building,
When he is kneeling on the floor when he does that solo at the old ladies ,
and finally the song he plays when he asks for "You frippin Money"
I was wonderin if any of u guys could tab it out for me or direct me to a site where it is tabbed. Thanks
Dime with other rock stars.
on Fri Mar 25, 2005 10:44 pm
I had an idea to start a thread of Dimebag with other rock star pics.
but i didnt have any pics worthy other than the Dime with Hetfield and Lars pics...
so if u have any or find any pics of Dime posing with other famous rock stars, i wouldnt mind seeing them...post 'em here!
jesus frackin christ im pissed off
so me an one of my friends were jus standing outside of a store tonight, taliking bout dimes greatness when wot should happen,a shitty little emo %$#@! head chirps up "ha ha u must be talkin bout bodybag darell".%$#@! me i shoudda ripped his frackin balls off (but i didnt, due to the amount of vodka in my system"),%$#@! me what a stupid twat.
anyway sorry for that rant jus needed to get it out of my system
Those of you with Furman PQ-3
I just got one and after all the raves I have heard about it, I can't even get a quarter chubby off of it. I mean it had distortion, but no bottom end. I can't justify having it, so it's going up for sale. I guess after toying with this, I am happy with the warhead alone. Maybe I'll trade it for a Whammy or something. What do you guys think? Anyone else hate theirs???

Saw Zakk in Kentucky
on Sat Mar 26, 2005 7:20 pm
Man I saw BLS in Covington Kentucky last night! Man I almost started crying when he brought his razor out and strted talking about Dime! Now that i have seen that guitar in person I want one!!!I didnt realize that Dime had it made with a floyd for him! figured he would do it like the Washburn he had made with a string through. Nick was playing his rebel Washburn and the Southern Cross! It was a great show too!!
Just received my Dimebag Memorial Bracelet.....
and man they're small. I'm not some big dude or anything either. I have normal size hands and wrists, and it's hard to get it on and off. There is no way this little cheap piece of rubber is going to withstand my daily activities, but hey, I guess for $3 it's worth it.
I bought 3 (in honor of Dime) and will wear them until they get weak and break.
how did dime bust the head off of his dean from hell (i think it was that one) and what kind of effort does it take to fix something like that
In Riffer Madness dime says that in the beginning of cowboys from hell he is jus chugging along on the E-String with a cheap echo pedal set on infinite. Does anyone happen to know wat pedal he actually used for this?
thanks in advance
This may seem kinda sad to some of you but i was wonderin if u no of any gd places i can get some camo shorts jus like Dimebags for my bands next gig.
Thanks in advance
Dime's studded guitar strap
hey guys, i was wondering, anyone know where i could find a studded strap like to one in this pic:
sorry that it is so hard to see, but it was the only pic of it that i could find...
thanks for any info
got metal edge in the mail today and they did an interview with zakk
thought id share this part of it
ME:Hes not gone for you, is he? (meaning dime)You see him, and you hear him.
ZW:no, no without a doubt.ill never get over it.you know, i got a picture of him on my mic stand.I got his mass card and everything like that, pictures in my guitar room. I love the lord and everything, but my wife goes to see this woman, and she can do the tarot cards and actually tell you everything. Youre going, how does she know? She says, "just tell zakk, 'cause i know hes going through some heavy stuff right now, hell do okay. Dimes always going to be that bird on his shoulder. When zakks in his darkest hours, dime will be there. Im sitting there in the guest house - 'cause we got ten acres and the two houses, so me and you can hang out, have a couple beers and shoot the sh*t- and a bird comes in,just sits on the les paul clock. A bird always on my shoulder. "Dime, whats going on, bro?" Thats it, hes always around, you know what im saying? [grins] He just goes, "Im keeping a lid on you, motherf@#$%!"
that just makes me miss dime that much more
i bet whenever theres a thunder storm..its dime shredding it up as much as possible
my dime story
on Wed Mar 30, 2005 2:16 am
I remember the day when dime was killed, at the time i had never really listened to pantera or damageplan, i had heard of dime and everything, saw his guitars in catalogs and stuff. well i got up and did my regular morning routine and went into the kitchen and turned on the news, it had the video clip of inside the club after it had happened. All they said was that the lead guitar player from some band had been shot. for some reason the thoughts just kept running through my head, even though i hadn't even listened to his music, "i hope that isn't dimebag", he always just looked cool in the magazines. I got to school and one of my metalhead friends told me it was him, i couldnt believe it, it made me so sad all day at school. i went home and downloaded a few songs by pantera and i almost hated myself for not having heard it before. well, a long story short, pantera is now my favorite band and dime is my biggest inspiration.
I was listening to DP's "New Found Power" when I realized that the lyrics to "Blunt Force Trauma" were almost a premonition of what was to come for Dime.I can imagine him showing up in Heaven and asking St.Peter "What happened?I was just jamming onstage, and now I'm here"."Where am I...?" to which St.Peter replies"Heaven...,Dime...,Heaven" to which Dime replies"Cool...Where's the bar?"
last night i had the longest dream i've ever had... longest and best ever... well it was so powerful i cried when i woke.
I'll try to remember every detail,
The dream started out as i was walking thru my town on a late summer evening and i heard a band playing at one of the public practice rooms/gig spots - the music was very loud and good so i went to have a look and dimebag was playing, just messing around jamming out some solos... i thought nah that must just be someone that looks like him and plays like a demon... he had an ML shaped guitar but it had weird mouldings all over it (3d style) even running up the back of the neck of tortured souls and stuff like that. i was looking at the guitar after theyd finished up. then i left thinking thats gonna be a cool band...
walking thru town after i here this voice going ''hey you'' i turned round thinking i was in trouble or something and there was the guy... and he said ''you was at the practice rooms - what did you think?'' and i said that was awsome, and then said you are so much like dimebag but you cant be cos he was murdered... ''dimebag laughs and says come with me and have a drink'' so we set off into my town and he strangely picks a posh winebar style place and we go in anyways and sit down and look at the menu and order a few beers and i ask him about what happened and he mocks me going (making gun noises) ''bang bang bang bang'' while pointing at different parts of his body and his hand then says ''see any holes?'' ''it didnt happen'' we drank for a while and i talked about music and guitars- talked about my guitars and my new confederate told him it was the only dime guitar ive ever heard of with 24 frets and he said lets go have a look at them. i showed him them and he loved my 79MLf said i was lucky to get a good one as they are a bit hit and miss with the korean made ones, he then said ''lets go back to where im staying and have drink and meet a few of my buddies''. on our way people kept looking and recognising dime and i knew what they was thinking cos it was the same as what i thought when i saw him. some of the local metallers pointed and scratched theyre heads looking confused... anyways we arrived where he was staying and it was some kind of motorcycle customisers cos they had a yard with loads of chops in that were being done up.
we went up a set of stairs into the house and was greeted by some people -i obviously dont know who(strange how u can dream of people youve never seen before) then dime asked one of the guys to go fetch a bottle a bourbon and dime got me to pour out 3 hefty glasses - like a half pint of bourbon and we drank it with the guy who went and got it and sat down talking some more about stuff- dimebag told me about a company making a special guitar - it wasnt dean tho i cant remember the name- i think it was some custom guitar company either making a guitar for him or his friend- i cant quite remember, im fogetting the details of my dream a bit now... but next thing i remember is we get on a plane real short notice to the states (as we was in england before) i remember thinking ''haha if someone phones me asking where i am i'll say im in america with dimebag!'' i remember getting to america and seeing some of it thru the window but i was really tired and drunk on the plane so i fell asleep... now i cant remember anymore
but the dream went on much longer-
it was an amazing dream-so real... and upsetting that it wasnt true... i miss dime so much.
this is the second dream he's been in, damn i wish i had asked to jam with him... that was one of the things i've always wanted to do if i was to ever meet him.
anyways - thankyou dime.
Anybody read this today???

According to a recent online posting by Disturbed drummer Mike Wengren, several Damageplan- and Pantera-related products are currently being planned for future release, reports Blabbermouth.net. Among the items that will reportedly see the light of day — either individually or as part of a box set — are the following:
Damageplan DVD "Damagevision"
Damageplan second album
Damageplan "New Found Power" outtakes
Pantera Home DVD Part 4
Pantera - Unreleased studio tracks from:
01. "Cowboys From Hell"
02. "Vulgar Display Of Power"
03. "Far Beyond Driven"
04. "Great Southern Trendkill"
05. "Reinventing The Steel"
Tracks from what would have been Pantera's next studio project after "Reinventing The Steel"
Rebel Meets Rebel (Dimebag and Vinnie Paul's side project with legendary country/western music artist David Allen Coe)
It should be noted, however, that — with the exception of a second Damageplan studio album (consisting of recordings originally meant to be used towards the band's follow-up to "New Found Power") — there has not yet been any confirmation from the Pantera/Damageplan camp that the above-mentioned recordings will ever be made available to the public.
In other news, Krank Amplification has a section on their web site dedicated to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, featuring exclusive photos and video footage of the late Pantera/Damageplan guitarist.
David Ellefson In memory of Dimebag Darrell
on Wed Mar 30, 2005 11:31 pm
Here is a text I found that David Ellefson wrote about Darrell.
In Memory of Dimebag Darrell:
A somber hello to everyone who stops by to read this post from me today. Like most of you I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears when I woke up and heard the tragic news of Dime’s passing and the travesty at the Damageplan show in Columbus, Ohio. It is purely beyond belief yet so staggeringly real. I just recently hung out with him and the Damageplan entourage a couple weeks ago when they passed thru Phoenix, AZ and as usual they were the coolest.
I first met Dime in 1987 while in a Dallas, TX watering hole where I was introduced to this up and coming new band named called Pantera. Dime was a regional guitar hero who went under the name “Diamond Darrell” and his band was making some big waves in Texas. That night Darrell raved to me about how Megadeth’s “Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying” album forever changed his life. The next night Pantera played a nearby club and they invited me on stage to jam “Peace Sells…” with them which was kick ass! They certainly knew their metal alright.
A bond was formed between me and the band which as the years passed was always like seeing good friends again. In fact, I remember calling Darrell years ago asking him if he would join Megadeth as we were regrouping before “Rust In Peace”. However, as cool of a musical fit as that might have been, there was no way anyone could split up the brotherly onslaught of him and Vinnie Paul, nor would you want to!
Years later Pantera played often with Megadeth but I specifically remember a funny incident when we did a show together in Hamburg Germany in the red light district known as the Raper Bahn. Dime’s tour tradition was to get a tattoo in honor of his favorite bands he toured with. Right before the show he walked into the club and showed us his brand new black and white tattoo on his lower leg of a black tooth grin. We were like, “No frippin way, that’s insane!” to which he replied, “Yeah dad, Black Tooth Grin, just like in “Sweating Bullets”. Funny thing is I’ve seen other people get that same tattoo over the years, all in honor of Dime, and it always brings a grin to my face remembering how nuts he was to go out and get a tattoo in that part of town in our honor!
In closing, Dime truly lived, breathed and played metal like no other guitar slinger out there. My condolences go out to everyone in his family, the Damageplan camp and those related to the victims at the show. This incident has forever scarred heavy metal but our memories will live forever of the legend we’ve come to know in our brother Dimebag Darrell.
Yours In Metal,

Slime Bolt ?
on Thu Mar 31, 2005 10:39 pm
I know this is the Dean forum , but does anyone know if Washburn ever produced more than just the prototype for the SlimeBolt guitar? I fell in love with that guitar the first time I saw it but I have never seen one for sale anywhere. Thanks
