Bandmates REX BROWN And VINNIE PAUL Play Together
Ex-PANTERA Bandmates REX BROWN And VINNIE PAUL Play Together For First Time In Over Four Years - Jan. 1, 2006
Former PANTERA bassist Rex Brown performed with ex-PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul for the first time since 2001 at last night's (Dec. 31) GASOLINE gig at Hot Rods and Hoggs in Arlington, Texas. Rex joined Vinnie and the rest of the reactivated southern rock covers band for renditions of the PANTERA classics "Walk" and "Cowboys from Hell". Check out pictures at Damegeplan.net. More photos can be found at RideForDime.com.
GASOLINE's lineup had previously included late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and PUMPJACK vocalist Thurber T. Mingus. GASOLINE were expected to play a set of covers by such artists as TED NUGENT, THIN LIZZY and PAT TRAVERS. Also appearing on the bill were local cover band STRANGE BREW.

It's got the stealth shape, washburn pickups, wash floyd rose, dot inlays.

i want to know if someone has a pic of the dean from hell before he sold it and it got painted blue with lightning bolts
Got me a Randall again
by ninjasx on Tue Jan 03, 2006 6:22 pm
I bagged an original Warhead (with the power switch on the back)
It sounds pretty damn good by itself but i put the PQ3 in front of it turned the gain on the amp down to 4 and used the PQ3 to build the gain back up but only on the frequencies i wanted and I now have ungodly gain but still smooth and very tight
If you haven`t tried this approach try it , it rocks!!
For those of you that think your life sucks...
Me and my brother were doing some reminissing on Saturday night, when he remembered his "I am the Night" fiasco.
Here's the story:
The year is '01 and this guy I know finds Pantera -I am the Night at a local Half Price Books. He find's it hillarious that at one point Pantera dressed like that. He wanted to sell the record so he could buy something else with the money. I told him that my brother would be more interested in it then I would. He said sure, I'll sell it to him for 20 bucks.
So I tell my brother this and we head over to the club where my friend DJ's. My brother has the money but they guy doesn't have the record on him. So he tells us "Bring the money on Friday and I'll the record" So on that Friday he's DJ-ing and asks my brother for the 20 bucks for the record. My brother doesn't have the money..
This carries on for a little over a year, my brother will have the money, but the guy forgot the record and vice versa. So finally, the stars and planets allign, and my brother has the 20 bucks and my buddy has the record!! After much rejoicing at the club, my brother jets home to go and listen to some old-school vinyll Pantera. While my brother is in the basement warming up the record player and reading the back of the record, the records slips out of the jacket, lands on the floor and breaks....
He's swearing up a blue and down at 2 in the AM in my parents basement. Luckily he didn't wake the old man up other wise he would've had some real problems on his hands. He still has the record and sighs everytime he looks at it.

Vinnie-No Phil On "Rebel Meets Rebel"
Former PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul has released a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET refuting previously published reports that the upcoming album from his REBEL MEETS REBEL project may include a guest appearance by ex-PANTERA singer Philip Anselmo.
Described as a unique crossover of country, metal and rock, REBEL MEETS REBEL features three of the founding members of PANTERA (Vinnie Paul, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and bassist Rex Brown) together with legendary country singer/outlaw David Allan Coe. REBEL MEETS REBEL's CD was recorded over a four-year period and is set to contain a total of 12 tracks, including "Nothin' To Lose", "Rebel Meets Rebel", "Cowboys", "Panfillo", "Heartworn Highway", "One Night Stand", "Arizona Rivers", "A Man With Nothin' Ain't Got Nothin' to Lose", "New York City Streets" and "Get Outta My Life".
It was previously reported that the album's title track, "Rebel Meets Rebel", would be a duet between Coe and Anselmo, but according to Paul, that was never the case.
Stated Vinnie: "All the information that has been reported [on BLABBERMOUTH.NET] about my label [Big Vin Records] and REBEL MEETS REBEL is true except there never was nor is a collaboration that involves the former singer of PANTERA and REBEL MEETS REBEL. REBEL MEETS REBEL is David Allan Coe, Dime, myself and Rex. It is a very cool record and will be out in April!!
"Now that the record is straight, thanx for your support and interest..."
"Rebel Meets Rebel" will be the first release through Vinnie Paul's Big Vin Records, which has secured a distribution deal via Fontana. The second project to be released via Big Vin will be a DVD, "Dimevision", as a tribute to Dimebag, one of metal's all-time guitar greats who is credited by some for creating the original concept which eventually became the MTV hit series "Jackass". "Dimevision" features Dime's stellar guitar playing and offbeat brand of humor, and is sure to be a title every serious PANTERA fan will have to own.

Another Dime Tribute Video

WARNING-This video contains excerpts of the 911 calls from the Alrosa Villa club.If hearing this would upset you please don't watch. The guy who made the video was obviously very upset when he made it,judging by some of the images, but it is by far the most emotional tribute video I've seen.

Does anyone know the number to ebay to report the listing?
BUYER BEWARE
First of all I thought I was set on getting a 2tone... I liked the Bee but they are all creeping up on me now and I dont know which one I want
Somebody broke in my car last night and stole my 1500$ Metal CD collection.........Most were imports, and of course my whole PanterA Discography was in there.................I'm so broken inside of me, that collection took me very long to gather up............
I'd be happier if the thief left with my Car CD/MP3 player than my CD's...........
Just the thought of the thief being a Hip Hop lover or anything else kills me. Maybe he just took them and threw them like frisbee's........
Ugh................
What is an original Furman PQ-3 worth? I am going to sell mine on Ebay and I want to be fair.
The Most Anticipated Dime Guitar Is....
I thought for fun we could set up a vote for what WE think is the guitar Dean will be unvailing @ NAMM!! Personally, I beleive they'll bring the Dime Slime to life!!!!!! If there was any guitar(other than the DFH) that Dime was known for, it was that!!!!
Warhead Pics
by emunder on Thu Jan 12, 2006 4:11 pm
Well, I finally got everything now for my rig. Had to settle for an XXL cab instead of the original Warhead cab. They are hard as hell to find. Just scored a PQ-4 too so I have alot of things to jack with but the tone is coming along. I've heard alot of mixed reviews on the Warhead but so far it sounds great. I'll let ya'll know how it goes when I get it all dialed in.
I saw an animated gif of this once. Does anyone have it?

Revolution Is My Name intro fx
by ninjasx on Fri Jan 13, 2006 6:16 pm
I was just messing around and I`m pretty sure I have figured out how Dime made the harmonics in the intro sound the way they do, here`s what I did:
run from guitar into wah then into digitech whammy then I run in to your amp, set the whammy to detune with the pedal rocked forward this gives the cycling sound you can hear on the recording then just rock the wah in time with hitting the pinch harmonics and voila thats it.
Hope this helps someone
I Know That This Is A Guitar Forum,But....

This sounds like one badass drum...
Vinnie Paul of PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN will be attending the 2006 Winter NAMM show (National Association of Music Merchants), which runs between January 19 and January 22 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Paul will be appearing in the Pearl Drums booth at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21. Vinnie will be there to introduce his new signature snare, which he designed with Pearl. This 14x8 six-ply maple snakeskin-covered, spike-tipped monster is said to be "every bit as badass as Vinnie could make it." He will also be promoting the new REBEL MEETS REBEL CD, due in April via his newly launched Big Vin label. This record features Paul alongside other ex-PANTERA members "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (guitar) and Rex Brown (bass) in a collaborative effort with country outlaw David Allan Coe.

Pretty hefty list of people on there. Cool concept!
i was wonderin if yall have ever had any hot teachers??? what grade were u in and what did she look like??
You know on the home videos where they keep saying "3!"
What does that mean?
And what exactly does Getcha Pull mean? I've heard numerous defnitions of both.
I bought the Dime distortion pedal as to me this was a MUST to try as it has the main mans name on it.
Thing is i may be blinded just by this fact, and i am unable to decided if i like this pedal. It got great reviews, and maybe it just doesn't fit my setup, so if anyone out there has it or tried it or whatever please let me know what you thought.
Thanks !

The Official Dimeslime bandwagon post...HUGE UPDATE page 9
by harley on Fri Jan 20, 2006 4:24 pm
I will contact Elliott as soon as He gets back from NAMM and see if it is now possible to go forward with this guitar.
Here are the specs that were decided on back in July when this first came up:
MLF based off of 79 series
Dime 3 Dimeslime finish (washburn color) with matching headstock
Natural Mahogany back
Black binding, body, head stock and neck
Black Dean Logo
All Black hardware
Traction knobs
I forwarded these to Elliott at that time and will do so again. I will also ask that the floyd be upgraded, but in order to keep the cost down we need to stick close to the 79 specs. Ebony and choice of pups would be great but would also drive the price past some that would want it otherwise.
Post here is you are SERIUOS about purchasing this guitar. In July Eliott wanted me to commit to 25 at least. 12 had been the case before and I don't know the reason for 25. Based on recent postings 25 should be no problem.
Don't change the specs just tell me if you are serious about this.
Thanks
Tim

BUt I want a Mesa Boogie triple recto or a Krank Revolution 1. Mesa have a massive backing but Krank are getting there. Heard heaps of you guys say there crap. What do you guys recon. Help an Aussie out.

Hi, I have a question. Im sure you guys have seen the 5 minute video of Dime soloing at a Damageplan show, blazin vid,my question is,do you know what song he playin at the begining. Its the first thing he plays and it real fast. I know its a real song because I heard it in the background of a tribute video. Thanks in advanced.
What's with a neck pickup in the bridge?
So.... what's with a neck pickup in the bridge? Considering Duncan specially winds his neck pickups to have a slightly lower output, and a bit less bottom... WTF?

The Dime Quad Sticker(FBD)
Hey all,
I recently got a FBD and i'm curious to find out why the quad sticker is a sticker and not a screen print like the trbute crest, has anyone taken theres off, does this de-value the guitar in anyway??
I have people tell me that the guitar would look a lot better without it, i'm thinking i should keep it as it is.
any thoughts??
P'ups: lawrence, seymour, Which one?
Hi all,
Sorry to be another one of those 'gimps' that posts a topic thats been covered like endlessly.but, in the DFH dime had a bill lawrence l-500xl in the bridge with a seymour 59'in the neck right?
Did he flip the bill lawrence like he did with sum of his other pickups?
Also what p'up did he use along with the dimebucker???
why did dime have a a 59'in the neck? did he swap p'ups for solo's or what?
Sorry for a mega post, Cheers jubblies

I've been after a dimeslime for a while, and have been offered a 333 for £250GBP.
Its in excellent condition with hardcase and retrofitted L500/'59 pickups.
You reckon this is a good buy? I like the 3's with the matching headstock, but they seem to go for alot of money these days.
