Niggemeyer Named NRA Law Enforcement Officer Of The Year
According to Ohioans For Concealed Carry, the National Rifle Association has named Columbus Police Officer James D. Niggemeyer who is widely credited for saving lives more than a year ago when he entered a local nightclub without backup and killed a crazed gunman responsible for blowing away four people, including PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott its 2005 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.
A little after 10:00 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2004, 911 operators began receiving multiple panic-stricken calls from the Columbus nightclub Alrosa Villa. During a DAMAGEPLAN concert, a man had rushed the stage and fired shots at the band. In moments, seven people were wounded, four fatally.
Officer Niggemeyer, patrolling just blocks away, was the first officer to arrive on the scene, less than three minutes after the first 911 call was received. Niggemeyer entered the building through the rear; five more officers arrived momentarily and entered through side doors. Dead and wounded citizens lay on the floor, shots were still being fired, and several hundred people were trying to escape.
Despite the chaos, Officer Niggemeyer was able to spot the gunman quickly, near the rear of the stage. Retreating from the other officers, the suspect had grabbed a hostage, immobilized him in a headlock, and was holding a gun against the man's temple. Positioning himself about 20 feet from the suspect, Niggemeyer, armed with a 12 gauge Remington 870, was able to get off one well-placed shot, killing the gunman instantly and ending the carnage. The gunman still had 35 rounds of ammunition when Niggemeyer shot him.
Commenting on Officer Niggemeyer, NRA 1st Vice President John C. Sigler, a retired police captain and now an attorney practicing in Maryland and Delaware, said, "It isn't every day that an officer is faced with a decision like this. NRA's Officer of the Year made the right decision under the most adverse conditions and relied on his training and experience to save the life of an innocent civilian victim. No one can doubt his dedication to duty or his willingness to take responsibility for his actions. In today's society, law enforcement officers of this caliber must be recognized and commended. NRA commends this officer for a tough job well done."
Adding to his accolades was Niggemeyer's immediate supervisor, Columbus P.D. Sergeant Jeff Leesburg, who said, "There is no greater example of police service than placing oneself between the threat and the innocent."

new to the forums
by muerto on Mon Feb 06, 2006 5:46 am
Hi I'm new here but I have been lurking for a long time, since the time it was announced that Dime would be returning to Dean. I finally decided to join because Dean is just a cool company I mean the V-wing is being created because of the forum and now the Dimeslime. Even though Dean is growing as a company they still listen to what the people want and deliver. I was at one time going to buy a honey burst les paul but then I saw the dime-o-flame in a promo picture online when i read Dime was going to endorse Dean and that was that.I should be getting it within the next couple of weeks(hopefully). That is what first drew me here but now I also want a cadillac(instead of a les paul), Z, and a couple of more MLs after the flame. So as not to seem like the guy who shows up to the pary empty handed I bring pix of Dime. These were taken in Corpus Christi at a meet & greet held at a record store during the Trendkill tour. One of the pix Dime is signing my friends shirt. I think that there is a clip on the 3 home video of Pantera arriving at the store.
Dime's 1st show back with Deans photos now online
Hey guys,
Just added 42 DIme/Damageplan photos from the Freakers Ball show in Dallas Tx show to my website. I am still slowly adding older photos on a regular basis. I still have 3 or 4 more Damagelan shows to and will let yo know as they are updated. This show was the first time Dime played his new Dean guitars and Krank amps live. It was HUGE hometown crowd somewhere around 10,000 or so i think.
Some of the photos I added tonight are ones I have never posted in the past, so drop on by and enjoy !
Here is a direct link to the Damageplan gallery:

Brazilliaburst finish question
This might seem trivial, but something about the "Brazilliaburst" finish on the FBD tribute has been bothering me. This question is focused more towards you Dean dealers and FBD owners out there:
Do some FBD models have more black around the outer edges or is it just a trick of the camera? I recently played an FBD tribute model at a local music store, and the finish was more of an orange-ish brown hue that faded into a darker brown. However, most of the photos online show a stark contrast, with black around the edges. To illustrate my point, I'm attaching two pictures of the Brazilliaburst finish. I apologize for the long post, but I'm curious if there are FBD models out there with black edges, and some that are more subtle. Thanks for the help folks!!

The more subtle contrast I metioned earlier

I have finally learn`t the CFH solo all the way through with minimal mistakes, not up to full speed yet but I can now do the 20-15-12 stretch bit and I`m starting on The Sleep solo
I`m so chuffed
So I've got a spare bill and becky L500XL at home. I've already got one in the bridge of my epi lp custom and was wondering what they are like as a neck pickup? Should I put it in the neck or stick it in the bridge of my other guitar which i rarely play?
Good OD pedal
by tjsix on Wed Feb 08, 2006 5:20 pm
I need a good OD pedal to get some more chunk out of my Marshall DSL, I'm adding an mxr eq but haven't experimented with it yet, anyone know of anything that puts out more OD than the boss SD-1??
I am seriously wanting to sell my RG100HT and I want to offer it here first for 250.00 plus shipping...I also have a MXR blue 6-band I want to sell. Anyone? PM me
Who here has the best combo amp in the world ???
I have once again came to the point where i'm gonna try a new amp, but the choice is massive and i am fed up buying and selling. So if anyone here would please give a few words on what combo amp rocks the shittt out of your bedroom ! I am bordering towards the Vox AD30VT...
I have a 30 watt marshall valvestate amp, but the sound a bit crackly when played through loud on clean and distorted channel. Also i don't know why but with just guitar-->demonizer distortion-->amp i am getting some MAJOR feedback i had the neighbour bang down through the floor !
Cheers boys !

As requested!
This is my first Wasburn or ML shape guitar, and yes it is the cheaper of the two versions and a Korean guitar, but I'm hella impressed with it!
The build quality is fantastic, and it plays incredibly well. The neck is very similar to my '67 re-issue Gibson Flying V, in fact it is generally. The flame top is pretty good, and the back is a nice stained wood. Its mint too!
I did want a matching headstock, but I quite like this one now I have it. I recently saw a slime333 with a matching head and it was horrible. Much different to the Dime3.
Theres a guy on ebay at the moment that wants Ģ1700 for a slime3! Its nice, but I don't think THAT much nicer!
If anyones thinking of buying a 333, it's not a Dean, but it's a really good guitar.
Does anyone have this CFH logo in a high resolution image?
Amplifier advice (involves tube vs. SS)
by MLTC on Fri Feb 10, 2006 6:55 am
Ok so I've been using tube basically forever now, my most recent and favorite amp being the Peavey 6505 (basically a 5150). It's extremely hot, but still has that tube vibe.
However, the more I think about it, my favorite guitar tone EVER was the late great Dimebag Darrell. I know he uses solid state so I tried my rack gear and my current guitar through an old Randall Century 200II head that my friend owns.
The quality I wanted in my sound was noticed right off the bat-the TIGHT low end! The chugs thud with authority! YES! But...the more I jammed the more differences I noticed between SS and tube. The SS is hot as hell, no doubt, and has extremely tight low end. Harmonics, however, sound quite different, and the overall sound does not cut through as well as my tube amp does.
Here's what I'm wondering-are there any amps out there that effectively blend the best features of SS and tube distortion in one sound? Tight low end response of SS but the cut and slightly warmer tone of tubes? I was considering checking out the Randall V-Max or V2.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

whats goin on ppl. long time troller here, first time poster. i know that thist post isnt specefically dime related- but the dudes awesome presence and sound have brought a lot of like-minded ppl here...and theyre just the kind of ppl im aimin this quesdon for.
ive been doin a lot of research lately into gear to help my guitar tone out. im playin a dime-o-flage with a dimebucker thru a marshall avt150 and a randall cab (dont flog me for that, please). ive been thinkin about throwin a mxr 10-band eq or a bbe maximizer (like a 362) into the equation to beefen up the sound. my main problem is that no music stores by me carry these in stock, so i cant test them out for myself. so- for all of you gear heads out there- which do you think would be the better route to go for first? any help would be appreciated.

VIDEO: Dimebag & Kerry King practice
Dimebag & Kerry King Practice 1989
Enjoy!
In case you did not know, Dime played lead on two songs in
Anthrax's 2003's album "We've Come For You All". Even if
you don't like Anthrax, those two songs are worth listening
to. Damageplan like sounds with a hint of old school Pantera--
the guitar, not the song. The song is all Anthrax.
I am a long time Anthrax fan, but never got all the CDs. I
just picked up this one, and it's pretty good. It's actually the last
full studio album from Anthrax. They really need to stop releasing,
re-releasing and re-re-releasing old stuff and live stuff, and get with the new!

Finally got to doing this. Had the tatt done for a few years now, but never thought to post a pic of it here. Well, finally here it is.
Note the added Sepultat with actually band signatures
And if anyone wants to be picky about the Dime epitat not being completely center, dont bother hehe. I know and care little for trivial things like that

by jimmy on Wed Feb 15, 2006 3:44 am
After seeing all the sweet Deans and Dimebag Deans, MLs, and tons of other sweet guitars in this place, I had to order a DFH!
I went down to the local music shop and Placed an order for that Sick-Looking Dimebag Dimebolt DFH Tribute guitar. It should be here within in 60 days. It's been long enough.
I had to finally pay respect to one of my greatest influences, hands down.
Randall?
by phil2 on Thu Feb 16, 2006 3:25 am
I know this is dimes section but I figured since people here strive for Dimes sound they have to have Randall
I bought a RH200 about 3 years ago the one before G2
I love the damn thing to death
the only problem is that when I use the Effects loop it takes from the tone and gets alot quieter.
I was wondering if anyone esle had this problem and if so can you get it fixed.
What do you think about Randall Camo Warhead WH40 Combo?
I was looking to buy light and small practice amp that I can carry everywhere, and I saw Randall WH40 for a reasonable price that I will soon be able to pay (unless they sell it, since this one is the last there is to buy in my country!). Can someone answer some of these questions:
1. Does anyone know its dimensions, and weight? How about the sound quality? This is a Dimebag amp, and supposeably it has that "Dime" channel that I am not sure that is very good on this particular version. Different people say different things, and I am not sure if it is worth to travel across the country just to try it. Any thaughts?
2. Also, I would like to know your oppinion about Randall RX20D and RX30D, and their dimensions and weight.
3. The specification for RX20 says it has 10" Celestion Tube 10 speaker. Does that mean that I need to wait for it to warm up before I get to use it, and that I will have to replace some parts freequently (I`m not realy sure what is a tube speaker, but I am sure this is a solid-state amp)?
4. And since I allready have one 30W practice amp (that is REALY heavy, but has 10" speaker), does that mean that RX30D wich has 12" speaker, but same wattage, would be louder?
5. And last thing: are digital FX on this two units worth something, or they are just some basic low quality effects made only for pracise purposes?
If anyone owns one of these three amps, please help me before that last WH40 is gone!
P.S. What does it mean if amp has "effects loop"?
Man that song (by Damageplan) gets to me everytime I hear it. Its as if it was wrote after Dime passed away. !! R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell, you are sorely missed by all!

I just bought this thing off the 'bay. Is it any good?
Do a need a noise gate of some kind with this thing?

Okay, I said before I will post my scatches here so here it goes.
I have planned to do this one year ago, but three months ago some good ideas crystalised inside of my little head. My fiends who are studying physics have been a lot of help, and now we are trying to work something out together. I will try to explain a few essential points as simply as possible.
This is the Michael Faraday law. He dedicated his life trying to proove that by putting some conductor inside magnetic field, it is possible to induct electicity inside that conductor (it was known that around conductor conducting electricity there is a magnetic field being generated, and he was following that analogy). It took him 10 years, and he prooved it. His law says that electricity is being inducted inside conductor that is 1) standing steel inside dynamic magnetic field, or 2) making movement inside static magnetic field. Look at the first picture, and note that there is a bar ("l" represents the -l-ongitude of conductor), that made movement from left to right. "v" is movement speed vector, "B" is direction vector of magnetic waves movement, and delta"t" represents time change (dynamic time passed until the bar rolled from first position to second). Imagine that conductor bar is rolling on metal panel (the polygon underwich is dynamic magnetic field generated). First, the surface of magnetic flux (acting of m. f.) was smaler, and when the bar rolled to the right, surface became larger. This made electricity appear inside that bar. To calculate how much exactly, you need to know for how much did the surface enlarge (or shrink - it works either way). When you calculate surface you multiply like a * b. In this case it is clearly
(v * delta_t)*(l)
((speed * timepassed) * (longitude of the bar wich is equal to the of the metal panel))
So, we have two VERY IMPORTANT conclussions:
1. - When time is changing (as a dimension), it spontaniously generates magnetic field OF IT`S FLUX!!!!!!!!!
2. - If you have a formula where two of three components are familliar phisycal dimensions (subjected to changes), and the third component is time (!), all you need to do is change the two that are physical, and proportions and common sense will do the rest........
Following reversed analogy of the first conclussion (like Faraday did back in his time), I will try to go one step further, and put this into three dimensions (a*b*c*t).
Now, we have two panels that are no longer flat, and that are facing each other (so that magnetic field is inducted inside, where delta_t will be manipulated), and we have two bars (they are supposed to be inside), rolling back and forth, each on it`s panel, making the surface of the flux changing constantly. If you followed everything I said above, you will know what would happen when you activate some large dynamic magnet, and stand inside...
Here are the two possibilities:
1. - You will be hibenated, or something, and therefore considered static, and your delta_t will start to change (you would expirience that time flow is slowing down, then stopped, and eventualy start going in opposite direction (to the past))
2. - You would be moving, therefore considered dynamic (conductor), and inside your body would be generated electicity that would kill you, and then send you to the past. (maybe it wouldnt kill you, I`m not sure)
First case is appereantly impossible, and the second is maybe possible, but wouldn`t do us any good. I was devastated when i realised why.
As you can see, you can change the direction of time, and that way change your possition in the time-space continuum matrix, and possibly return to the same point where you left from (after you made difference in the past), but we would expirience absolutely no consequences of what you changed in the past what-so-ever!!! This would explain:
In Case I (look at the picture), one would time-jump into the past, make some difference (...), and return. NOW PAY ATTENTION: difference is made, we are at our point (A), changed past is at it`s point (approx. one year ago). That live Dimebag in the past will have to wait for about one year to arive to our point of time (A). Keep on your mind that one year passes for him, and us as well! While that happens we will be in a point that is one year from now (B), and Dimebag would still be approx. one year away from us (A), and those other us one year in the past would be very happy (but they probbably wouldn`t even know it is us they need to thank to). I finaly know how we can avoid this effect.
Pay attention: one would have to time-jump to Dec. 8th 2004. (look at the Case II), snatch Dimebag, and bring him back to our pressent!!!! Those us would still miss Dimebag for one year or so, and when they become us, they will rejoice, and we will do that instantly (point A2). But, this is impossible also, because I think that going to future is quite impossible (at least using method my friends and I are working on).
So we would need to do this:
Build a GIANT time-machine that would be large enough to be put around entire Villa Rosa club in Ohio, activate the machine, watch how the club becomes older for one year and few months (it wouldn`t dissapear if thats what you think, because it was there all the time - and in any point of time-space continuum (person would dissapear because few minutes BEFORE, that person WASN`T in the time-machine)), now when that happens, we deactivate the machine, snatch Dimebag out of the club (and the others), and thats it. Here is the correct time-space traveling scheme:
Just two problems here:
1. - You need to remove all metal objects, conductors, etc. from ENTIRE CLUB in ALL TIMES (you cannot do that, so you need to hope that electricity wouldn`t kill everyone inside, or make the machine work REALY slow, generating small amount of electricity, and wait an entire week or so to see the results).
2. - WE WOULD NEED TONS OF MONEY AND 20 ENGINEERS TO BUILD THIS!!!
Besides this, everything else is quite possible.
If you have any taughts about this, or ideas that can help me and my fiends (and everyone willing to participate), please share them. I would appriciate any help.
Just another lonely night...

Vinnie:No One Knows The Pain I've Been Through...
God,I feel bad for him...
Former PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott spoke to Billboard.com this week about "Rebel Meets Rebel", the upcoming album featuring the Abbott brothers (Vinnie and the late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott) along with PANTERA bassist Rex Brown and country music outlaw David Allen Coe. The CD is due on May 2 via Vinnie's independent Big Vin Records.
"Some of the songs are about gambling, some of them are about broken hearts and some are about drinking," Abbott tells Billboard.com. "There's stuff on there that's balls-out metal, and there's stuff that's country. There's even a flamenco guitar song."
Abbott says that he and his brother had hoped to release the album after recording a second DAMAGEPLAN record. After the breakup of PANTERA and the launch of DAMAGEPLAN, Abbott says the two feared fans would be confused by another project.
Also on May 2, Big Vin will release "Dimevision Vol. 1", a DVD that collects behind-the-scenes footage of Dimebag. Abbott dismisses those who think he may be cashing in on his brother's legacy. "If the roles were reversed and I was gone, I would want him to be as gung-ho about this as I am," he says. "Anyone who says I'm cashing in can kiss my ass. Nobody knows the pain I've been through."

Yes, I finally got my ISP Decimator and hooked it up to my X2
Thats right. Silence is all I hear. Its so sweet to not hear that sqeal and uncontrollable enormous feedback that this amp naturally puts out. It got worse with the PQ-4 and MXR 6 band (me suspects it was only the MXR) but now its nothing. I dont even have to turn the volume knob down on my guitar while on fry. If it was tube I dont think I would have this problem. Its badass man, I am so happy with this amp now. At least now I wil only go deaf half as fast. Thats the ticket man to anyone who has an X2 or Warhead. Anyone in need of a noise gate, this is the one to get. Now, how the hell do I record myself to this damn computer?
I want some good accurate tabs for "CFH." I trust this place more than anyone else on the web.
thanks for the help
Why the rusted guitars are so different?
I saw at least 3 different paint schemes of Rust guitar. Someone can explain it? I saw it on many Dime models... Thanks. And sorry for my english again.
At my Band Practice Pad, I made myself a Dime Shrine with all the pictures I could find in my guitar mags. Everytime I play, I just look at that wall and for some reason I feel 'The Man' is watching over me. And I feel like I can play better too. I know its all in my head, But I really like my wall lol!

This thing screams! I love it. It actually sounds better than the RG100ES I had previously, it's got a little more gain and it's tighter sounding.
My new Dean "Dime" Slime Bumblebee Razorback!
Just got it a week ago! I love it! This is the most incredible guitar that I have ever played, it's the first guitar that I have ever gotten that I didn't have to at least adjust the action on! Everything was perfect from the factory! I am officially a Dean-a-holic now!
