Ok, I'm tired of the endless threads about which Bill Lawrence is better and which one Dime used. Here is my take on the whole thing. I believe Dime used both. Think about it. Dime loved to experiment. In the Dime Clinic video, he said he bought his from StewMac which would mean the BLUSA ones. But when Seymour Duncan made the Dimebucker, they based it off of a prototype he had. I believe this prototype was made by Bill and Becky because the Dimebucker has the same thick rails. I have seen pics of Dime's guitars with thin railed pickups and the thick railed. I have not used a BLUSA L-500XL so I can't say anything about them. I ordered one from Bill and Becky last year and it sounds great. The pickups in my Dean from Hell CFH are from Bill and Becky. I verified this with Dean, Becky, and Funky Munky Music. Its not like I really had to ask though. It's identical to the one I had ordered before.

I'm willing to bet that the BLUSA pickups are good and probably sound very similar to the Bill and Becky ones. Dime probably didn't worry about the difference in rail size as long as it was called a L-500XL. He probably used whatever ones he could find. From what I know, when he had the beefed up L-500XL made he went to Bill and Becky. I think he called it the L-500XXL. This is the pickup Seymour Duncan based the Dimebucker on. So even though he said he bought his pickups from StewMac in '93, I believe he got in touch with Bill and Becky later on.

Anyway, I'm simply trying to say that I believe Dime used both types. Decide for yourself which one you like with your own ears. There is no "fake" pickup.

sorry if this has already been discussed, but does anyone have a good transcription of the domination solo from the live moscow performance, or just the album version for that matter? all tabs i see on the ascending-triplet picking part start on the wrong frets, i noticed dime starts on the 9th fret on the lowest string first, plus at the end of that part where he slows it down right before the huge whammy-bar squeal, cant find anything that sounds right...

I own an ESP Ltd 250 Explorer (not the car though ) and i had some serious troubles with it as the neck would fall way down when i stood up with the axe. So i fixed the problem by screwing 4 bigass metal screws in the biggest horn to set the balance haha. My super-cool grampa did it for me and im all set now. Anyway, to get to the point, I was recently reading about the washburn dime models having the same balance problem, so i wanted to ask you dean owners if anyone experienced a problem like that with dime dean models. getcha pull

I think im gonna go for that '79 Transbrazilian ML instead of the FBD tribute. The brand new Transbrazilian with shipment costs me around 850$ which i think is a great deal. What i'd like to know is your experience with this guitar...is it worth and what are the real technical differences between this and FBD except the pups?

Ok..I have a ML...haha..not his official model, but a ML reguardless...I know that Dime ALWAYS used a BL L-500 in his bridge...now the question is...did he have a SEYMOUR DUNCAN 59' or a DiMarzio Super Distortion in his NECK?!?!

I'm thinking about replacing the stock Dean pickup in the neck position of my DFH CFH. I know the USA models have the Dimarzio super distortion in them. I have a Duncan '59 in my Ibanez and Washburn and I like it but I don't want to just buy another '59.

Has anyone here used a super distortion in the neck position or think they sound good there? And is it what Dime used in his Dean from Hell?

just finished watching BTM and started listening to Ashes, the extra track on the Japanese version of NFP. I noticed that right at the start there's the line "trample across my peaceful mind", a phrase which Rita reads from a letter Dime sent to Phil. Is anyone else having a feedback problem with their DFH CFH? I have an Ibanez RG with a L-500XL from Bill and Becky. I ordered it myself so I know its from them. The pickup in the CFH is supposed to be from Bill and Becky but it has worse feedback. With the Ibanez if I put my hands on the strings there isn't any feedback. With the CFH it doesn't matter, there is terrible feedback between stopped notes. If I put my hands on the strings to stop the feedback it still doesn't go away. Is this a possible ground problem?

I think I know why my L-500XL is having feedback issues. Its not waxed. The one I ordered last year is potted in wax and has no feedback problems. I know pickups are waxed to reduce feedback. Did Bill & Becky skip on the wax in order to produce more pickups for Dean? Maybe Dean was going to get the pickups from BLUSA if Bill and Becky couldn't make enough in time. I think I'll give them a call tomorrow and find out what the deal is with the wax.

Cry baby from hell do? I tried it at a guitar store with the MXR dime distortion( pretty freggin sweet by the way, will have you soundin like dime in no time) but the Cry baby from hell wasnt workin..

I am still getting the feedback but I noticed something new just now. I am hoping this will help pinpoint my problem. I found a spot where I can hold my hand above the pickup where the feedback will stop. If I put my hand really close to the pickup I get feedback. I can move my hand back an inch or two from it and it goes away. If I move my hand too far from it the feedback comes back. When I tilt the guitar different directions the pitch of the feedback changes slightly. And at one point, the feedback went away for a little bit while sitting the guitar on its back in my lap. When I would touch one of the middle screws that adjusts pickup height I would get a really high pitched feedback.

Any ideas as to what is causing this? How could putting my hand near the pickup in a certain spot stop the feedback?

So i just got a new randal sg100sc g2 amplifier today..but i can't get any sound from it....when i have the master and the level volum on maximus i can get a weak tone... man it should have been blastign my doors down on that volume ..
is there anything i should check?? the thing is brand new from a online shop..i bought other stuff there so they are serious people....

I mean, you buy an ordinary ML and just put a good floyd on it and install a Bill Lawrence and you have pretty much the same guitar except the paint finish...

Hey guys, just trying to put together a list of all the Pantera B-side songs and movie Soundtracks the CFH came up with, including anything with Dimebag! My Washburn Dime3 broke in half (dont ask why or how) so i gutted it of the Duncan 59" and the LX500 only thing is the lx500 has way more wires then the standard l500 and i noticed some of em being (green blue white ect.) were going to the toggle selector. ( it had a total of 6 wired sodierd to it) im planning on putting those to pick ups in my dean V, sould i take out the stock 3 way selector and put the wasburn in and by process of elemation try to figure this mess out. ( have dont have a wiring diagram to work with nor can find on the net)

okay, which should I get? RG-100ES, or X2? Basically I'm wondering which has more gain, more volume, and better Dime Tone. I will be using it with the Warhead Cabs 4X12 and 2X15. Can the RG handle the cabs since it pushs 150watts instead of 300watts from a warhead. Also how much volume drops in an RG when u pull the knob? Is the RG loud? I'm figuring its as loud as 50watt Valve amp, right?

Man, I just stopped by this little out of the way music store here
in Ft. Worth about an hour ago cause I heard they deal Deans
now. Anyway I got to check out the Razorbacks which was cool,
but I looked up on the wall and they had a Tropical USA Dimebolt
(all blue with white bolts and blue headstock, also had the Dean
wings on the 12th fret). Anyway, told the guy that was a cool
tropical and asked him how much. He said oh I could take $4000,
I said what??? for a Tropical??? Then the idiot next to him said,
"that's vintage stuff man, the real old school USA". I just laughed
and walked out.

I'm about to order a BLUSA pickup. Do all of them have Bill Lawrence USA written under the bottom rail? I want it to look plain. I'm sure it will rub off eventually but is it easy to remove? Does anyone know of anywhere that sells them with the plain look?

Ok, I recently bought me a new RX120DHS. All I have to say is it is worth every penny if you want that "CFH-FBD tone". It gets amazing clean tone as well. It also has 16 built-in FX on it. I recommend this amp for any Pantera fan out there.

So i'm at Motor City Guitar today trading to get a new guitar when this guy comes in to trade in his washburn 333 to pay off his amp. i got the 333 from him instead of the 332 which was cool since i'm a floyd user but here's the kicker...he turned in his guitar to get a Warhead X2 originally priced at $333!!!!!!The only thing wrong with it was the fx knob was busted off.....that knocked $1500 off of the selling price. Killer deal and slightly ironic.

Is the Dean razorback explosion air brushed or just printed on?

I recently got a POD XT Live for jamming in my condo, when not in my parent's house (I have a JCM800 2203zw halfstack there). I'll also use this as a backup rig if something happened to my Marshall in a live setting.

Anyways...I have set up tones for Van Halen, Slayer, myself, and Joe Satriani amongst others.

I don't have a good Dimebag tone (from any era), and am having a hell of a time trying to create it. I've tried a few from www.customtone.com and they all suck.

Anyone have a good set-up? Like, what amp setting they use, basic settings, as well as what pedals you have in the Dimebag tone? Anything would help!

Damn! I just got my new Randall RG100 G3 in about an hour ago.
pulled it out of the box, plugged it in and guess what, it don't
work. You crank it to 10 and it's barely audible, has almost no
volume at all. The bad part is that I have bought 2 G2 Randalls in
the past that had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!! Why can't these
turds build an amp that works???? I know they had some
issues with their stuff and I'm sure some of you guys have had
one with the same problem, but I figured they would have fixed
the problem on the G3's. WTF?? They don't seem to care about
the quality of their products at all anymore.
