Question about a non Dean Dime guitar...
We are at Dean forum, but we have a huge bunch of people with a lot of Dime knowledge.
I have a question for you Dimencyclopediacs.
I found a Washburn DimeSlime in good condition, but the question is;
It's an import guitar, yet it has a matching headstock, which I believe isn't that common.
Other features that looked out of place are chrome parts in a matching headstock; tuners and locking nut are chrome and this version doesn't have black binding in the headstock, only on the body. But when I think of it the import 333 has chrome parts but on a black headstock...
The seller says it's a couple of years old, so it's a pretty new model I guess. Is there something I should know about this a little bit different guitar from the "standard" import Washy...?
Probably nothing, just making sure.
Anyone seen this vid of Dime?

Can someone tab me the part from 1:34 to 3:09? Thanks in advance. I would do it myself, but my DFH only has 4 strings on it as i await a time to go to a music shop and buy a pack of strings.
What effect is Dime using at the outro of Floods?
It sounds more of a warmer fuzzier tone at the end.
Can anyone tell me what he used for it?
Hi folks, how's everyone doing? This is my first post on this forum so I just wanted to say hello! I've been reading this forum for some time and I've really been impressed with the amount of help that you guys are willing to give to each other. I've learnt quite a lot myself. I've been playing guitar for about 12 years now although I hadn't played for about 3 years up until Darrell died. I was heartbroken when I heard the news and that made me pick up my axe again and start playing!!
Peace.

Old RG100es head on its way!!!but hums when cranked?
so i think its the capacitors but im not sure?i was told it made a really loud hum when cranked and needed to be serviced.anyone have any idea what it could be or how much it costs to ship to randall for a look see? the head is a 85' carpet ahah smelly crapet covered head!
o ya and if i use my rg100ht as a preamp and the rg100es as the power amp that means i get the watt power of the rg100es head and the rg100ht's wattage has no effect since its only the preamp right?i cant explain it rrrrr i guess what im trying to say is by slaving the 2 its like a rg100es head with a master control right?
thanks and metal out!!

by dime2 on Fri Feb 09, 2007 9:33 pm
I got my first ml after seeing dime(was using Washburn but its a ml shape) in donning ton pre that %$#@! killing him. Anyways ever since I haven’t be able to stop buying the bastards and can’t seem to use any other shape my uncle gave me a les Paul for crimbo and I couldn’t hold it up or sitting so he switched it for telecaster and then for a Strat until eventually I had to get a ml again for the win. which means iv had about 9 ml's in my hands over last 2-3 years .
any1 else had this problem?
Hi I am sorta new to this forum but not new to dean. I just bought me a DEAN FROM HELL and can anyone tell me if it comes tuned a half step or one and a half or what? Any help would be appreciated.
I need a ride to Dime's grave from DFW airport 2/22
I have a layover at DFW airport on feb 22. I want to go visit Dime's grave. There is no public transportation to Arlington and a cab is too expensive. I can pay 40-50 bucks. I just want to see it for 20 minutes or so and then go back to airport. Anybody live close?? I would need to be picked up at DfW around noon and then back by 2pm. If not, anybody have any ideas how I can get there?

535Q vs. Crybaby from hell
New to the board, so far everyone seems to know their stuff pretty well...
I bought the 535Q last night from guitar center. I didn't really get a chance to mess with it. I was wondering what the differences are between the two and if one is better than the other. If they are similar anyone have some recommended dime settings for it?

my thoughts on dimevision
i got it a few days ago and i have to say that it's funny as hell one of my favorite parts is before wirez rolax where dime has a bottle rocket and when he lights and you hear him yell out SON OF A *****, however i think i got a bad copy cause it will not go past the 1988 solo section in my PS2 or DVD player.
Need help identifying year of a RG100ES
by tazz888 on Sun Feb 11, 2007 8:32 pm
I just scored anothr RG100es from a local pawn shop. I looked in all the usual places and can't find any production date markings. For the price it was a steal ($150) and it sounds great
A few things of intrest are as follow:
The face was original zebra patterned that was colored in with a black marker by a previous owner. The zebra pattern can be seen when the face is removed where it folds over the panel.
There is also a rocker switch on the face for the boost rather that the push/pull trebble knob.
Any info would be helpfull.
The I C chip in Old Randalls?
what is it and are they in the randall rg100es heads?
I'm thinking about selling my RG100HT. I bought it from Mike Gilbert of Flotsam and Jetsam he used it on the No Place for Disgarce and When the Storm Comes Down albums. (not that that really has any bearing) but I;m wondering what is a fair price to ask if I decide to let it go.
Pantera Grammy Nominations.
i saw they have had 4 nominations. i know they didn't win any.
what where the 4 nominations and who did they lose to.
i think one was for Suicide note part 1 and another for Revolution is my name.
thanks.
all i've found for sure is the following:
i'm Broken - Best Metal Performance Nomination - 1995
Revolution is my Name - Best Metal Performance - 2001
but their site says they had a total of 4 nominations...
idk one site says they only had 2. then i guess those are them. who did they lose to tho?
Razorback review in guitar one
Did anybody get this issue and check out the review on the cd for the razorback? I already know the guitar rocks. I've played one. I'm just wondering what everybody thought of the review.
After seeing the dimeslimes being produced on the internet, iwas wondering whether to customize an mlf involving a respray with stainer a giving some beefcake pickups like a dimebucker and a '59.
please give opinions on this and advice if u have any, also warnings.
thanks, dave
I can't quite stretch to an ISP but can anyone give me their thoughts on
Boss NS2
MXR Smart Gate
Rocktron HUSH pedal?
Thanks
Am I crazy or were Pantera the best band ever?
by ninjasx on Tue Feb 13, 2007 1:51 pm
The more I think about it the more this seems to be true, I listen to other stuff when the urge takes me, like say I may feel in the mood for some Megadeth or Rage or Chillies or any other band hell even some britney sometimes, but if i just want to throw something on to go with my mood there is always something by Pantera that matches it! I think it`s just because there is so much variety and while all being Pantera it`s all so different if that makes sense.

Seymour duncan's take on the "XXL-500"
Not available to the public my a$$!
"Dime was on a tone quest for a long time before he and Washburn Guitars came to us. He had tried numerous custom wound pickups, but none were giving him the tone he was looking for. At the time Dime and Washburn came to us, Dime was using a custom wound pickup that he called an XXL-500. It was not available to the public. And it was still not giving Dime his tone. That's when Dime and Washburn turned to us. We started with Dime's best-sounding XXL-500 and then made numerous tweaks. We changed the magnet type, the wire gauge, the number of turns, and other factors. Dime tested the pickups on tour, so they got real world "arena" testing. After a few back-and-forth exchanges, we finally nailed his tone. And that's the SH-13 Dimebucker. It's the pickup that Dime used and -- for the first time -- the pickup Dime used is available to the public. It works great in Dime's solid state amps as well as tube amps. For more information about Dime and the Dimebucker, read his interview on this site. Dime did a great job describing the distortion quality of the pickup. We were very priviledged to work with Dime and we mourned his tragic death. R.I.P. "
How do they think the BL-500xl was not available to the public?

Replica DFH and FBD
by brn14me on Fri Feb 23, 2007 4:44 pm
I'm sure I'll get flamed and told to use the search button. But I did - and sorted through 20 pages of 'searched' content in the tribute area before I figured there's got to be someone that's better at searching then me. So help a brotha out if you don't mind.
A couple of guys replicated the Dean From Hell and FBD almost true to life. Can anyone find those pics??
VERY important dime question...
Hey, did dime use Hanes or fruit of the loom? boxers? Briefs? Boxer briefs?!?!?! I just wanna know so I can get the same exact kind in the same exact color and write "darrell" on the tags. Hey guys, I use a boss MT-2 in front of my rg100es as many of you do. Recently it quit working and I took it apart and there were like three wires loose and I don't quite know where they go. I have looked all over the net for a wiring diagram with no luck. I found the manual, but it is useless. Would someone be willing to pull the bottom cover off of theirs and take some pics so I can see how it is wired up and get this bad boy rolling again? If so, I appreciate it. If not I understand. Thanks dudes
Be kind people. I messed up the solo and the last riffs.. hehe..

What is the difference between rg100 es, rg100 es xp,rg 80 es and rg 80 es xp.i read marker saying the xp is a chip or something in the amp to give more crunch and volume, but what is the ideal amp to get out of these four?I heard some people saying the es 80 and 100 are the exact same amps except the 80es is lighter, there has to be more to it.i had a randall warhead and i was not to happy with it ,it had plenty of gain but real muddy, not tight enough i guess in my opinion, does anyone else agree. Are the rg amp heads tighter sounding.what are the sound difference between the 1st warhead and the rg amps?Anyone that has an opinion please voice it thanks. What do you think marker?

I'm thinking of getting one and it's 120watts. I see some on ebay that are 150. Which is better? Also Is there a difference between the tolex covered version and the carpet covered. I'm having it sent from a texas Guitar Center to michigan. One store ever had a snakeskin 100es but with no footswitch. Any info would be great, I know alot of people here have them. thanx

Where do you guys get your pantera tab books? My local music store only has easy tabs and regular run of the mill top 40 bands.
I just found a site called metaltabs.com that lloks good so far.
So I have this vintage mxr 6 band eq. I use it in the frown just like Dimebag and it's killer on the squeels. But when I stop playing, the noise (white noise sounding) is crazy loud. I know a gate will remedy this.
The real question, is do you guys have your clean channel sound like you have a distorion pedal on? If so, do you have to resort to seperate amps for clean/dirty or a different solution. Never heard this mentioned so maybe mine is bad?
Thanks.
I know that despite commonly tabbed out as drop D, "Walk" is in standard tuning down a whole step (and then a little more). But what about "A New Level" and "Primal Concrete Sledge"? I've read in at least a few interviews with Dime and even his own Guitar World column that they are in drop D. However in every live video I've seen of him playing these songs he's in standard tuning. Maybe it doesn't make a difference (although drop D makes it easier), but I was wondering if he recorded them in the drop tuning but played them live in standard so he wouldn't have to switch guitars.
Also, what tuning is "The Underground America/Sandblasted Skin in"?
