hey.....to let you know...i have just typed this before this post, went to submit it and wasnt signed and didnt copyit or anything... so therfore...i have to re-type it...so here we go again ...attempt #2....its a interview from a book i bought a few years ago, called ''the guitarist book of heavy metal'' its got all big name artists in there and dime was one of them along with zakk, kerry king... Van Halen. so here we go for your viewing plesure attempt #2 -
The scene is the hallway of a rather plush hotel, Somewhere in France. Plank-spanker extraordinaire Steve Vai is about to diclose the name of his current favourite guitarist. After a moment of hush he gives his verdict. "Dimebag Darrell from Pantera," gushes Vai, "he's amazing!''. Cut to the quiet of the English countryside several months later and the news has broken in the Pantera Camp.
"What a trip!" enthuses the recipient of Mr Vai's praise, "Steve smokes!"
Pantera have just succeeded in levelling Donnigton with thier own brand of megaton metal and the aformentioned D Darrell Esq - who seems to enjoy the dual identity of being reffered to as both Diamond and Dimebag these jounalistic protocol dictates that weat least get the interviwee's name right, the question arises about which forename is most suitable for our purpose. The record company rep is playing it safe and calling him "Dimes". Clever
Pantera hail from Texas and are currently hammering thier message home with the album Far Beynd Driven. The Guitar work is intense, to say the least: thick, cloying metal textures with relentless, screaming lead lines - and not for the faint of heart.
"Its just what it sounds like, man!'' growls Dimes somewhat enigmatically.
His Texas origins go something like this:
''To cut a long stroy short,'' he begins in earnest, ''I used to skip school and paint my face with Ave Frehley kiss make-up. My Dad got me my first guitarand then i started generally dicking around with it, learned how to make a barre chord, dicsovered feedback and that was the end of it. No normal lessons or training or s**t just listening to records and picking up licks and stuff. My Heroes were Eddie Van Halen - especially after Van Halne 1,2,3 and 4 - Randy Rhoads, Ace Frehley and dudes like that. My Brother played drum and jammed in the garage and started writting our own stuff but it took us a while to get our chemistry together when we were doing out own thing and, err, that how Pantera got started. Pantera is the only band ive ever been in, and at the start we used to play covers to make a living, man, we playe the clubs from seven, eight yearsand yeah, ive played every f**king Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Metallica song under the sun! but it was very good training"
A band of course; its invariableonly as good as its lead vocalist and in Pantera's case Phil Anselmo is something of a one-off.
"Phil was in a band in New Orleans doing basically the same thing as we were - playing covers but wanting to go in a heavier direction. We finally heard about Phil and he heard about us, we pulled him and jammed for two-and-a-half hours and it was great! he just clicked, Phil moved down to Texas and we got stuck in the clubs man. We were trying to get our own s**t together, our own sound and style, you know? After about three years we landed a record contract.''
It is popularly assumed that Texas boasts a blues club on every corner, and so it must have been difficult for a struggling metal outfit to gain an audience.
"Yeah, Blues is mainly what Texas is known for and i understand that. But we were into what we were into, you know? And we made our audience. Thers a metal scene in Texas too.''
Thats enough Technology, lets talk hardware - choose your weapon,Dimes.
''Ive always played Dean Guitars, man. I got a Dean Catalogue when i was real young - i dont know, 16 or 17 years old, something like that - and i said, i want that guitar, thats the one, thats the f**king s**t right there! then i went out out and played one and said: ' thats definatly the guitar. And i got my first one in 1978 or 79, i believe. Anyway, Ive played them ever since. I got myself a pignose amp and a big muff fuzz and i was ready to rip. Now im using Randall amps; solid state, not tube. I got a burman PQ4 EQ, MXR six-band EQ , a rocktron Hush unit and thats pretty much my rig.''
In the interests of out readership, it might be worth an in-depth analysis of the Dimes guitar sound - and where better to start then the horse's mouth, so to speak? but when the idea is put to the axeman he roars:
"Tell 'em to get thie own sound!''
I see, well, we've tried the direct approach. Maybe a little gentle coaxing will got to the heart of the sonic maelstrom. Does Dimes whack out some of the mid-range of his guitar signal in the maner of many a mega-thrash metal doyen ?
"Somewhere in there, yeah, it gets scooped out.''
Aha! still a bit vague though. A change of tack seems appropriate. Try Talking about the new album some more. What about the title track of Far Beyond Driven, Becoming?
"Vinnie had this real rad drum lick, almost like a fill-in lick that you do one time in a song, but he just keeps going on at it. I was trying to vut a riff to fit that and i was going for somethingerratic and i used a Digitech Whammy pedel. I was hitting a certain chord and hopping on the pedel to get a squeal out of it.''
Now we're cooking; what about the filling out of the guitar sound on record. Is over dubbing a viable solution?
''No, if you listen to the record there is one guitar thats doubled. To get my sound in the studio i double track and when it gets to the lead parts, the rhythm drops out, just like it's live. I'm very concious of that. I make sure Im not coming up with something that i cant reproduce live. There may be one or two moments on the recordwhere the rhythm guitar is playing something else, but 99% of the record its real - streight out just like i'd do it live - just like an old Van Halen record! and thats what thay sounded like live too!''
Is there a particular high spot on Far Beyond Driven which curls yp Dimes's toes ?
''Wherever the needle drops! i like it all from start to finish. I couldnt pick a track right now.''
What about the solo on shedding skin ? a bluesier edge than usual we-thinks...
"Oh yeah ? thats cool. I could buy that. Some of the licks are more bluesy on that particular solo.''
And the Black Sabbath cover, Planet caravan: a major influence on Pantera?
''Absolutely. Howthat track came about was that we were going to do a track for the Black Sabbath tribute album thatx is coming out, but we cut the track and there was this conflict if interests between record labels and we weren't able to put the song on he tribute album. We liked the way it turned out so we put it on our own album. We didnt want to do the same songs that everyone else does. Everyone covers Sabbath. Thats why that song was pickd. We didnt want to do iron man or something like that because its been done.''
The guitar work on Planet caravan sounds acoustic, in an electric kind of way, but on the other hand...
'' I used both. Two acoustic tracks and two electric tracks.''
An acoustic guitar ? In Pantera? details, Dimes, details,
''It wasn't mine. F**k it, it was just whatever was lying around man.''
So we can call call off any likelihood of a Pantera Unplugged in the near future?
"Absolutley!"
Its possible that the world may be hanging on Dimes's string Gauges...
''We were experimenting and i think i moved up to a 0.46 on the big string. As for tuning, on some of the tracks we used regular tuning, but on others the whole guitar is tuned down to D. So now you know.''
One fairly recent event in Pantera's schedule was being sent on a trip to Russia with AC/DC and Metallica for a huge festival of a kind previously unseen in the east, and one which ten years ago, would have been percieved as an act of war by the folk at the Kremlin
''it was awesome, man. It was a strange deal. We were right in the middle of doing the Vulgar Display Of Power record and we got a call asking us to come down and do it. We were like, what the hell? So we packed all of our s**t - we wanted to do it. We had decided not to do this kind of thing again because we were interupted in the middle of the Cowboys From Hell record to go play a couple of quick dates and when we came back it was kinda hard to get back into the groove of finnishing the record. But this offer was from Russia and so we said, Oh i guess we are going to do it again! but it was great, the gig was awesome. It was the biggest gig i'll ever play, probably. We were with Metallica and AC/DC and it was awesome, really cool. There were even a few Pantera fans out there. I was really suprised. But the audience was just going off - it was a big present for them.Did you see the video? take a look at the crowd and they were going for it. The only thing that was kind of strange was the police and military who were the security at the show. They were really violent with the crowd. Beat the s**t out of them. Watch the video: they've got these big f**king sticks and they're just going off. The people had to kep it down just enough, but at the same time they gave it everything they had. They stood there for three days, man. With no Concession stands and np places to take a piss. They were there for the music. It was great.''
There is a whole legion of fans who could benefit from a few words of advice on learning guitar and joining a band. Ant thoughts?
''Find someone who can jam on the skins, link up with them and rip out! sit in your room just like i didand listen to the records of all the guys who are yours heroes, learn thier licks, learn all you can about it. Get your chops up and just jam. There are so many ways to jam, you can turn up the stereo amd just turn off one speaker and let your amp and guitar do the talking for that side. Learn to play whole songs. A ot of people just know one riff or something. If thats all you want out of it then fine, but if you are wanting to get a group going and jam, then learn the whole song. Find someone you can jam with. Thats a big deal. When you play with someone else, you gotta work together to get the thing started and in time, working and in the groove.''
What about the technorats? Scalic gurus with thier modal mantras - what of them ?
''Technique I'll buy a little bit, but modes and all that s**t...if you can slow down long enough to go through it all, thats cool. When i was a kid, i tried to sow down and learn all that s**t, but i just wanted to jam. I'd be sitting there trying to read a piece of paper and i'd be going, whats this, man? and just start jamming. I know many players who dont have a lot of knowledge of scales and modes and all that s**t and those players tend to play from the heart more. Thats where i come from. If yu know a bunch of scales and modes you'll know what everything is going to sound like before you play it. My answer to that question is whatever works for you, because everybodys different. Its up to you; its all good.''
Whats next for Pantera after Donnington?
''A world tour, we're touring the States, Japan and Europe - just a lot of touring. A yar-and-a-half or two years coming up.''
And Dimes' message for the world ?
''Go buy our record and trip, man.''

there was a picture of the DFH back in the day, when it was pretty new, with these style L500's in it. i've searched high and lo on here but can't find the picture.
does anyone have that pic or can direct me to it? i need it for reference.
DIMEBAG DR STRINGS PICTURE ISSUE
by Goc on Tue Feb 05, 2008 10:14 pm
Today i went to buy new DR strings for recording and i took the Dimebag HI- voltage ones. Maybe i'm the only one who didn't notice it by now, but the pic of Dimebag on the cover of the box had a photoshopped DOF in it, instead of diamond plated stealth that's in the original picture and previous DR packages
Here are pictures as proof hehe

Hi i just bought me a furman pq4(140$) and i wanted to know how dime´s setting was back in tha day... for the real dimetone.

hey i was just wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between the randall rg100es and rg100xp and also which would would get the best dime tone? thanks for the help.
What's missing in your Dime shrine?!?
Like everyone else in the Dean / Dime forum (I assume), I've collected my fair share of stuff related to Dime & Pantera since 1991.
My question is, what's missing? What would you like to obtain that you haven't been able to find?
As for me, I've always wanted to find a:
- Warhead baseball cap.
- Long sleeve Crowbar t-shirt (same one Phil wears in the I'm Broken video).
- Bootlegs of the actual Pantera shows that I've been to.
I'd also love to find an old autograph from when Dime used to sign his name "Diamond Darrell".
Hey check out my band Years of Fire ...

let me know your thoughts...Thanks Rich
Can anyone tell me what scales dime uses alot??Im trying to work on my leads does anyone have some kinda tab of what the scales he uses looks like??I know the blues scale

Made some recordings, feedback?
Ok, basically im wanting to sell one of my amp heads because I dont really need 2, and I cant decide which one to sell. I was playing my RH200SC and decided that this was the amp i was gonna keep, but then i cranked up the RH50T and it sounded so big and chunky. So ive recorded 2 tracks, one with each amp, and id appreciate it if you guys can tell me which you think sounds better. The recording quiality isnt the best, but it gives you an idea of how each amp sounds. The song I chose for recording was I'll Cast a Shadow. I messed up the harmonic bits, and there's the odd mistake here and there but please try and ignore these
First Track:
http://www.supload.com/sound_confirm.php?get=47188462.wav
In this track I used Dean Razorback > Boss MT2 > ISP Decimator > RH200SC, nothing in the loop, all it had was the MT2 boosting up front.
Second Track:
http://www.supload.com/sound_confirm.php?get=1393758166.wav
In this track I used same setup up front, Dean Razorback > Boss MT2 > ISP Decimator > RH50T, but in the effects loop I ran my MXR 10 Band EQ.

AESTHETICS OF HATE: R.I.P. DIMEBAG ABBOTT & GOOD RIDDANC

A response to ignorance.
A response:
AESTHETICS OF HATE: R.I.P. DIMEBAG ABBOTT, & GOOD RIDDANCE -- Time For Conservative Imagination! by William Grim, Iconoclast Contributing Editor You`ve undoubtedly heard by now that a demented fan last week killed heavy metal guitarist Dimebag Abbott at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio. While I am extremely happy to hear that the assassin was shot to death by a brave Columbus policeman and I in no way want to engage in a blaming the victim scenario, I cannot deny that there much in Mr. Abbott`s demise of one being hoisted on one`s petard. The squalor, inhumanity, filth (both in the metaphorical and hygienic senses), depravity, ugliness and ignorance of everything that heavy metal represents (Like rap, I cannot use the noble term music in a description of heavy metal) creates a mindset among its devotees in which Mr. Abbott`s assassination was an event that was all but waiting to happen. It was highly amusing, and also terribly sad, to watch on television fans conducting a "vigil" for the slain Mr. Abbott outside of the Alrosa Villa. It was an assemblage of ignorant, semi-human barbarians who were filthy in attire and manner, intellectually incoherent and above all else, hideously ugly to the point of physical deformity. Here is a definite case in which the outer appearance of these "fans" accurately represented the hideousness of their souls. That the physical deformity of their ugliness was self-inflicted makes the spiritual tragedy of their misspent lives all the more tragic. But one can see why the heavy metal fans so closely identified with Mr. Abbott. He was an ignorant, barbaric, untalented possessor of a guitar and large amplifier system. Freakish in appearance, more simian than human, he was the performer of a type of "entertainment" that can be likened only to a gorilla on PCP. Lacking subtlety, wit, style, emotional range and anything approaching even the smallest iota of intellectual or musical interest, Mr. Abbott was part of a generation that has confused sputum with art and involuntary reflex actions with emotion. De gustibus non disputandem est. Matters of taste are not subject to argument. That has been a general principle of aesthetics for some time, and when we are talking about the visceral preference for Mozart or Haydn or Beethoven among civilized human beings we are on pretty safe ground. I do not understand exactly why I prefer Haydn to my good friend who prefers Beethoven. But we both agree (as do all civilized human beings) that both Messrs. Haydn and Beethoven are numerous steps further along the evolutionary trail than Dimebag Abbott. Here is one area in which conservatives have failed and failed miserably. Whether it is out of a lack of interest or despair, conservatives for too long have ceded the entire field of aesthetics to the trust fund red babies of the blue states. And look at what this has brought us. So-called heavy metal music, so-called rap music, operas and stage plays in which modern "stagings" reduce Verdi and Shakespeare to the condition of a schizophrenic`s finger paintings. Leftist domination in the visual arts has made a mockery of the aesthetic greatness of modernism and replaced it with the turd encased in Lucite. And the grammatically-challenged racist rantings of Amiri Baraka now pass for poetry. However, we conservatives should not confuse family values with aesthetics. In the realm of art, our evangelical brethren have many crimes to answer for. When a church replaces Bach with Bacharach it has engaged in the aesthetic rape of the liturgy. Just because one has good intentions and approaches the numinous with "sincerity" and "authenticity" (the latter term ironically being a buzzword among the Marxist aestheticians of the Frankfurt School), that does not absolve one from aesthetic responsibility. As far as I am concerned, those who advocate a dumbed-down liturgy and schlocky pop music substitutes for Bach, Handel and the masses of the Renaissance, are as offensive as the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church and his perverse sexual politics. Part of the hard work of civilization is teaching young to be able to distinguish between the good and the bad in all aspects of life. If we teach our young children to obey the 10 Commandments and to obey the laws of the land, but don`t teach them to realize that Johann Sebastian Bach is superior to Dimebag Abbott, we have failed as parents and mentors. If a person has gone through 12 or 13 years of education and has not developed an appreciation for the greatest artistic achievements of mankind, that education has been an utter failure. While laissez-faire is the correct approach to economics it has no place in the realm of aesthetics or morality. A confidant civilization imposes its morality and aesthetics on it young people. Yes, you heard it right. We impose. The Rousseauian noble savage is a myth. Left unchecked and untutored the savage will never attain nobility. There are those who will accuse me of elitism. And I admit it. I am a conservative elitist. I want the very best. The very best form of government, the very best of civilizations, the very best educational system, the very best literature and art, the very best music, the very best way of life. If I need open heart surgery I want to go to an elite heart surgeon. Mediocrity is the goal of socialism. Americans should aspire to greatness. In the past forty years, conservatives have won great victories in the political, economic and moral realms, but we stand to throw all our gains away if we do not reclaim ascendancy in the aesthetic realm as well. And while the murder of even a semi-human barbarian like Mr. Abbott is tragic and to be lamented, it would be wrong to ignore Mr. Abbott`s complicity in contributing to the soul-deadening culture of death, ugliness, depravity and inhumanity that spawned his killer. Hugo von Hofmannsthal once remarked that "all powerful imaginations are conservative." It is time for conservatives to utilize their imaginations and reclaim the field of aesthetics from the left-that is, while there is still something left in the aesthetic realm worth reclaiming. Iconoclast contributing editor William E. Grim is a writer who lives in Germany and is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He may be reached at wgrim@myrealbox.com. |

I think I am going to redo the guitar tracks, I want it closer to a dime tone, and do better solos and more lowend in it,that is with the pod xt but I cant quite dial in the sweet spot for the rythem tone. any ideas? Warhead sound test with DKMLF
Here's a crappy clip I made of some crappy playing. I need to figure out how to use an sm57 and the computer to get a good recording. Anyways here it is for everyone that has wondered whet the Warheads sound like. The mic in the camera makes the amp sound a little brittle but you have to believe me when I say it's much warmer in person. It don't help that the master volume is not even on 1.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH0MO9wSTSU
The Champion is here!! Video and mockup added. In stock!
I told you all about this pedal several months ago, and I finally got a box built that i'm not ashamed to show off.
Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_irWLx-qiw
In this video you can hear The Champion click in and out the blue 6band mxr, the pq4, and the noise gate from a remote control. I'm talking input and outputs disconnected in a flash...TRUE BYPASS.
Details at my website: http://www.dropd.net/tgc/
What it does, is true bypass any pedal (or rack) or series of pedals you put in the send and return loop, Like a miniature bradshaw system. Instead of having a switch on it like most true bypass loopers, this one can sit in your rack and be triggered on and off by a standard amp footswitch, by the control jacks on a G Major, A replifex from rocktron, or behringer Fcb1010 midi footpedal. This lets you:
A) keep your pedal in a rack so the cable runs are very short and to the point
B) decide if the pedal is on or off within presets on any of the above mentioned gear
This one has just 1 loop, But i can custom make them to do pretty much whatever you are needing it to do for your rig. I pretty much use it to make a non footswitchable rackmount noise gate footswitchable.
As Pictured will cost you $50. if you need custom work, pm me...
Here is my prototype mockup for the final look.. Grady, you diggin?
Some setup examples:
Now some pron:
I named it the grady Champion because in my case, it is MY Grady....
If only it adjusted the knobs in real time.
Grady want's a better logo... Any photoshoppers show me what you got!!
The video will be up in a couple more days, still dialing in the sound to show you...
Some more teaser pron...
hey guys i got a first gen Randall Warhead and it sounds good with my Dean FBD tuned down one hole step but when i play through it with my CFH standard tuning with a Bill Lawrence usa pickup it sounds kinda flat not as crunchy as the guitar tuned down. Ive tried everything on the eq i just cant find a good crunchy heavy tone any suggestions? thanks
Found an old ass photoshop razorback
I made this thing in high school, mid 2006, back when I diddn't know how I felt about the razorback yet. happened upon it, figured I'd share.
X2 and Pq-4 pron and video...
here is the video.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVt2v0lqz_A
Audio only here: www.dropd.net/x2.mp3
No eqing at all, just an sm57 on each cab into nuendo.... Comment and rate the video dammit!!
I'm a happy camper. The pq-4 looks like brand new, and the X2 does too with the exception of the tolex peeling on the back in an area that glue will fix....
Wish I had a place to really jam this thing, at my house I'll have to keep it quiet!!
what do ya think about that guitar sound?
hey.......it no good play but it was a test only for the sound ....so............listen and say me what you think (not of playing xD it isn´t good)

Rita..go away...
by sklitz on Wed Feb 13, 2008 6:42 pm
Someone needs to tell Rita that she is not a rock star and should not be signing guitars at the NAMM show..
If you want to be in charge of Dime's estate that is one thing but don't go marketing yourself. No one heard of you when Dime was alive so now that he is gone why are you all over the place?
I don't need you to remind me how great Dime was..I have my USA DFH and that is my reminder..
Enough already..
VC.
Alright, so we all now that Dime used a MXR Flanger/Doubler for his flanging sound. What kind of pedal could I use to get close to that sound? Also what setting did he have his flanger set at? Thanks
What's the difference? Also is the whammy 2 better than the current one (4 or something?)
DimeTime with...??.
by kaka on Fri Feb 15, 2008 8:13 pm
hey man im thinkin of buyin a jackson flyin v (actually my friend is givin that to me because thats all i can afford and not a razorback. ) and loading it with DimeTime and i dont know what to put on the bridge. the dimebucker or the billawrence?? which works great with DimeTime or which one gives best results?
Anyone know of a good tab for Get Outta My Life?
is there a lot of nudity in vulgar videos? or are they like 1 sec clips
Will there ever be a fixed bridge Dimebolt ML?
Yes DEAN help me! I want a guitar with the Dimebag look and a fixed bridge. I don't need a licensed Floydrose. I use trems very extremely and cheaper versions are alwys done in like 3 years and the guitar gets out of of tune all the time... And I honestly don't wanna spend exta cash for a trem upgrade on a 1000 dollar guitar. Just for the look the baby ML lightning bolt doesnt do the job for me. Maybe a smaller budget bolt on version full size ML Dimebolt would be interesting too to fill the gab between the baby ML and the Dean from hell...
Greetz
What newer deans was Dime playing after he came back to Dean?
I have seen pics of him playing a black ml, a dime o flame and a brazilian burst.
Also, which Dean guitar was Dime playing when he passed?
Untoddly
razorback explosion
dime shadow

Randall RG75G2 Combo + 4x12 Cab???
by OWNER on Mon Feb 18, 2008 1:16 am
Hey brothers,
There are two RG75 G2 series combos lying around here in auction, i wondered how they would sound if i bought one and attached it to my 200 watt RX412 cabinet? Any ideas, Sherwood uses a combo+cab piggyback stack like this if i remember correctly..
75 watts @ 8 Ohm
100 watts @ 4 Ohm
This sounds PERFECT for a good G2 crunch if it can act exactly like a head?
Heres the rear photo of a 75G2:
Are there any samples, videos you could share which work this way? Please help ASAP!
DIME SHADOW PICK UP QUESTION
i own a dime shadow from guitar center. it did not come with a dimebucker. it has a twin blade pick up that looks like an x2n. i'm sure it's some generic dean pick up. does anyone have any details on this pick up?
the reason i'm asking around is because this pick up actually smokes and is freakin amazing! i wish i could buy 2 more for my dime o flame and my razorback.
untoddly
Do you guys experiene any sort of crackling noise while in the Fry channel? I noticed mine doing some wierd stuff when turned up around 4 or 5. It's only in the Fry channel though.
Is this normal or should I have a tech take a look at it/call randall. I got it second hand and these things are out of warrenty anyway.

I figured i'd let those of you who don't know about Exhorder hear this track. it's exhorder covering sabbath. You can clearly hear the influence Exhorder had on pantera, From the guitar sound, to the sampled drums and the vocal style. The main difference between cowboys from hell and Vulgar is the influence of exhorder. Enjoy friends....

I went to the Bill Lawrence site and they said it isnt a real Bill pickup unless it has the stamp on the back of it. what do you guys think. thanks
So im switching up my rig from dimes to my own..Im still using dean ml guitars for now but no more bill lawrence l500 xl, instede im usin two emg 81's.I am getting rid of teh randalls and using madison tube amps..I still use the furman pq3 up front and it kills...so anyone wanting to buy dime gear..ill be selling some. Also i know all my youtube clips suck ass..but im gonna try and make a run threw vid before i get rid of my stuff for all the dime gear fans..since i never put a vid up after i got everything right..or one that just didnt suck

My RG100HT decided to die last night with a puff of smoke
I opened it up and it looks like it`s just a diode that has burned out, does anyone have the schematics so I can find out what i need to replace it with?
I just thought that you don't hear alot about Avoid the Light. IMO it has to be one of Pantera's best songs. The solo was just amazing. They never really got alot of recognition for that song. I just wanted to hear everyone elses thoughts on it.
Hey, i love the flyod rose i got on my Rebel...does anyone know what make it is.....as i bought ''a offically lisecnsed '' one off the bay, fitted it into my washburn and the fel is completly different....it was a cheap one at about $60 but as i said the feel is completly different to the ones fitted on a dean ....

ANYONE HAVE IT? I KNOW IT SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT MY BAND WE JUST WROTE A TRIBUTE SONG TO DIME CALLED"UNDERTOWS" AND WE WOULD LIKE TO MAIL A COPY TO RITA AND VINNIE.
I am not sure whats up with this auction but I got a pq 4 for $90 on the bag, We will have to see how this plays out, the seller has 1,400+ positive feedback and no bad feedbacks so it looks lagit,I payed with paypall so If its a scam I should be covered, we will see, if it is lagit I got a sweet deal.
I may have a pq 6 for sale if this works out.

by Conbud on Fri Feb 29, 2008 6:51 pm
I made this a few days after Dimes death and forgot I had it saved on my website.
check it out, it's nothing major.... Just a slide show with some pics that I'm sure everyone has seen.
But it's worth looking at, cause I made it to honor the Man!
http://www.bayouunderground.com/download/Dimebag_Tribute.wmv
so today, i decided to play the old Randall, RG100. i hook up all my stuff...get er going...and i hear this hellish crackly, pop...crap coming from the amp, its not feedback or anything like that. any of you randall owners have an idea whats going on?
heres a pic of when i got it..
How loud do you have your Randall's when jamming?
by rgx612a on Sat Mar 01, 2008 3:34 am
I'm just curious?
I know Dime ran his heads around 3 or 4 on the master volume, which is pretty loud.
Lately i've been plugging one RG100ES head into two 4x12 cabs and running the master volume at about 4.5, It takes on this whole new character through 2 cabs and with the volume up like that...Smoothens right out and sounds like a damn earthquake, haha.
I'm basically running it exactly like Kirk Windstein of Crowbar, boosting with a metalzone, B-tuning, EMG pickups.
