wierd stuff about dimes jamz
I have noticed somithing. how did dime write all the songs that we remeber him by be for he left.
it almost seems like he knew and wanted to comfort us all.
like these songs
Cemetary Gates
Hollow
soul bleed
Theres more than that im sure but these few come to mind.
We were all dimes brothers and sisters in the string family especially the dean players. we are all brothers and sisters. remeber that.
and haveing said that ill say this
" when he died i should have cried and spared myself som pain, and now my soul is left to bleed" JIM J
Does anyone know what acoustic guitar dimebag used for tracks like Cemetary gates or did he use an acoustic modeler?
plz help tnx

Korg AX30G demo, Dimebag pedal
Well, well, well..., I'm finally gonna let y'all laugh at my Canadian accent, "eh"!!! I've put up a demo of my Korg AX30G pedal, I decided to show just the pedal, so I gave the Randall a rest and played straight into my bass amp. This is the pedal Dime used on parts of TGSTK. I mostly use it to change tuning on the fly with the bender, but it does alot more & it does it well.
Watch the end of the video to see it emulate a Digitech Whammy.
Sorry for the mediocre audio, I used my camera mic.
8 or 9 different tunings on Pantera, Slayer, SOAD, Crowbar, Styx, Megadeth all in 8 1/2 minutes:

RG100 FS Clone
by Typhaon on Mon Mar 03, 2008 5:25 am
Since this is the Dimebag Tribute area
aka
RG100ES Area
PQ4 Area
MXR 6-Band Area
MXP Flanger/Doubler Area
Century 200 Area
Warhead (1st Gen and X2) Area
Krank Area
I figured i could get some troubleshooting tips.
Ok so a while back i purchased an RG100ES FS Clone/Remake (for a snazzy $50 i might add) from a man called the voodoo man. I hadn't used it to much till now and I've found out it's not doing what it should be doing. Lets see..... It has a Both and a Chan option, the Both button does switch the way it should. But the Chan button is odd, if i switch to the clean channel (channel 1) it stays clean, however, if i switch it to the dirty channel (channel 2) doesnt necessarily mix channels (as in it doesn't exactly mix the dirty and clean channels), but it does mix the volume and gain knobs from each channel. So if i were to adjust the volume and gain on channel one when it's on channel two if will effect the overall tone. When i have the FS on channel two it will mix the sound so you hear the treble boost and a less gainy sound, almost a clean sound. This is not what i want. Any suggestions?
I am using a RG100ES XP if you want to know.

My Blacktooth Grin Tattoo
Well since my sister was a douche and needed my help I couldn't attend DOA at the very last minute, so to make myself feel better I got myself a new tattoo. My homage to the man and one helluva drink. Pic taken after the initial cover came off (4hrs after it was done).
Hope you don't mind a little chihuahua-foot in the background.
Variation on Still got the Blues.
This is from the same video where he shows how to do the squeals, but I figured I would post this anyway as it is very awesome to me. This just goes to show how much feeling is going into every note. The use of the floyd right there astounds me.

Here`s a demo of my RG100HT
by ninjasx on Wed Mar 05, 2008 3:15 pm
The chain goes USA DFH into MXR 31 band eq boosting the mids in to the HT then the PQ3 in the loop to cut certain frequencies followed by the MXR Flanger/Doubler mic`d using a Sure SM57. If anyone has any tips on mic positioning to capture what I actually hear in the room I would be gratfull lol
On the recording you will hear, first the HT by itself, then I turned on the MXR 31 band, then the PQ3 and finally the MXR flanger/doubler.
the first 2 sound about right but when the PQ3 and F/D are on it sounds way better in the room

Darrells Equipment (Dime's Rig) Part lll
I'm calling it part 3 cause why not? YOU know why!!!
So, I don't know how many questions have been answered, or what all has been figured out. I'm not concerned with finding a majic wand that makes everyone sound and play like Darrell. What I DO know, is that I have spent the last 3 days going thru and taking pictures of lots of Darrells equipment! At least 20 different heads (Randalls) quite a few of them prototypes, a few other amps that he used, some rack gear, and a few pedals. This is in no way all of his stuff, this is just stuff that was in one room!!! There was a ton of other stuff, 4X12 cabs (probably 50), flight cases, guitars, etc. but I concentrated on the heads mainly. I also think I found his first Randall!!! Anyway, I'm sure you guys will have fun with this! Now I just have to figure out a good way to upload some pictures. Everytime I try it never seems to work! It will probably take me a couple of days, but hang in there, it's coming!!!
So here's a BIG Hello to Rotting Corpse & also Chad lee, whom I formally met in LA a few weeks ago!!!
Allright
BLOW THAT RANDALL SH T UP!!!
Ok, this isn't specifically about the whammy. I was just watching a bunch of youtube demo's of the digitech vocal live 2 and 4 processors. You plug your guitar in and get awesome sounding vocal harmonies. Si I head to ebay to see the prices, and low and behold, iVL is the chip that processes the harmonies!! Us longtime dime fans will know that the ivl chip is that made the wh-1 whammy and the whammy 2 so sought after. No other whammy digitech made without ivl even came close.
My point.... Digitech and IVl are together again, perhaps a new whammy is in the works.....

Dime settings from Guitar Shop mag, circa 1995?
I'm assuming most of you already read/know this, but I found some cool stuff in the record shop today (just discovered they have books and mags!) and I stumbled up an issue which has a quick Dime interview and a pic of his Randall settings.
It's definitely not new to the diehards, but if you want I can type it up quick...it's not very long.
Only reason I'm waiting is to see if it's super redundant...then I won't bother.
Opinions?
PS ...it's also got Yngwie's amp settings.
Wish me luck!!! Back home, finally!!!!
Just lettin' you all know that I won't be around for a little while, as I'll be checking into the hospital for surgery in a few hours. So far, in the past 12 months I've had two major surgeries for ulceritive colitis / Chrohn's desease, and tomorrow should be my last one..., let's hope that three times is a charm!!!
Hopefully I'll be in good enough shape in a few days to find a PC in the hospital and check into the Dime / Dean forum..., I'm gas'ing to see more Dime gear pics from allovertonite.
Also, if ever you know anyone considering surgery for colitis / chrohn's desease and has questions..., feel free to shoot a PM my way (it's the same surgeries to treat colon cancer).
Hopefully I'll post something funny soon while I'm all jacked up on morphine! So, I'm gonna strum a few chords on my beautiful FBD Dime tribute ML, then I'm off to bed.
Peace, Tim.

furman parametric problems
man i gotta tell ya ,I use same chain as dime, same settings as far as i know.I know tone is in your hands ,but with the furman after th six band it just seems like to much gain .Yeah the pq will tighten things up a bit ,but one or other sounds best to me.Both just seems to be overkill..I just like a super sharp yet fizzy sound tho i dont like alot of mush and break up..has anyone else experianced this?

Dimebag tribute song from forthcoming Tribute Album
http://www.myspace.com/dimetrack
Leave it Alone is the first track to be released from the up-coming memorial disc honoring the legendary Dimebag Darrell Abbott. The incredible story of Darrell's life and death is well known and tributes were given to him at the benefit show in Chicago as well as the Rock Walk induction in LA. Unfortunately, not everyone who wanted to participate in those events was able to at the time. We all wanted to do something to honor Darrell.
This song is our way of contributing to the same giving spirit and legacy that Darrell was all about. We want to continue the movement of selfless sharing that he started and lived by. This is our chance to "pay it forward" so to speak.
Friends and colleagues joined together to celebrate Dimebag's life rather than mourn his loss. Jason Bittner - Tristan '1690' Grigsby - Dave Ellefson - Tim 'Ripper' Owens - Nick Bowcott... Each of us had our own time and connection with the Legend. Dave performed with PanterA many times starting at the beginning of their career. 1690 was there with PanterA in their early club days, where they formed a friendship, and played alongside Darrell through the years. Jason toured with Dime during the Damageplan days. Tim crossed paths with the Idol while fronting Judas Priest. Nick was a long time friend , having shared management when he was in Grim Reaper and also through their dealings via Guitar World magazine. Because of the legendary and countless stories of the influence and inspiration to his fans, it was impossible to do this without including them as well. So, this may be the first memorial track to include a performance by a fan; Brian Cashmore.
Leave it Alone was done for Dimebag Darrell Abbott with respect and love. Everyone involved invested their sincere desire to pay tribute to Darrell and gave their blood, hearts and spirit to making something our brother could be proud of.
Leave it Alone will be made available for download exclusively via iTunes with all the proceeds going to Little Kids Rock, in Darrell's name.
Little Kids Rock believes that all children in our public schools deserve music education as music education is a transforming force in children's lives. Dimebag had the same philosophy with always sharing his passion and love of music to the world inspiring kids to pick up a guitar.

Hey,
I have really searched for one so im not just being lazy and asking for it without looking but i cant find an accurate solo tab for A new level.... Or the whole song really, certainly not how dime plays it. I've seen in videos how Dime plays it and the tabs for Guitar pro etc just arent played in the right place
I figure if i really want to put time into learning it, i might as well learn it the right way (Dime style )
If anyone could post and accurate solo tab i would appreciate it a lot!

Scam Alert
by Rude on Fri Mar 21, 2008 5:33 am
Some dude is acting as Ronnie James Dio's manager and booking shows and taking deposits from people and ripping them off.
The Ride for Dime folks were scammed by this guy. They thought they had Dio as a headliner for RFD4, but it turns out the dude ripped them off....

OFFICIAL RIDE FOR DIME STATEMENT
As you are probably aware this comes as devastating news to Ride For Dime. We put our faith in a person that represented himself as Doug Goldstein management for RJD. I actually paid a 2500.00 deposit to the gentleman to secure the date and and he went so far as to give me his federal tax id and have a signed contract from him of which I will post the signature page with all the info. Again we are very sorry to have mislead anyone it was not done intentionally.
I hope the RJD Management will forgive any embarrassment our site may have caused them. We will pursue this matter.
This has been a terrible blow to The RFD Family and will impact the children we were trying to help

Pantera fans Montreal ***Rottingcorpse pRoN***
Hey guys,
Good news! Now that my recovery from surgery is going well, my Pantera / Damageplan tribute will start playing shows again. This past year was very difficult with my health (as you all know), and I really appreciate my band mates waiting for me to recover so we can start to book shows again.
New for 2008:
Dean and I will now attemp to intimidate our drummer, Phil, with a good six feet of Randalls stacked on each side of him while he plays, so we will be breaking in some really nice Dean & Randall gear for our first show this year.
About us:
- Fred (Vox) is one hell of a good frontman, if you can make it, get ready for one hell of a good show!!!
- Dean (Guitar) has got a new Razorback for 2008, and has some serious chops. He is well known in the music biz for his recordings and performances on guitar with Cryptopsy (formerly Necrosis) he played on the 1st album, and he has also performed and recorded with Damaged and Negative Jungle.
- Phil (drums) played and recorded for 2 years with "Forrest" (Quo Vadis) in the band Augury. His fast hitting & triggered kick drums can also be heard with Mesmorism and Open Wounds.
As for me, I'll be the guy with the bass, and I'm currently working with the promoter for this show to see if the club will put "Blacktooths" on special for this night!!! Hopefully we'll pull that one off!!!!
So if you're in Montreal, come join us for a night of Pantera & drinking!!!!

I got a hardcore dime-o-flage that sounds great. but it doesnt have a floyd rose. should i get one installed or just get a new dean with one already in it. and how much would that cost.
I have been working on my website to bring together many of the things that we love about Dimebag. I'm selling my pedals on there as well.
Anyways, visit www.dropd.net and check out my Dimebag Video section!! I compiled some of the BEST youtube videos of Dime all in one place for us all to enjoy. Most of us have seen these, but there may be be some gems you never saw. Take a look....
I have added another section to my website for backing tracks. These are not simply pulled from the net and rehosted. I did A Lot of work to make these sound good. I'm not perfect, but I believe you'll like what i'm putting up.
1st up, is 5 Minutes Alone from Pantera. Download this badboy, click some ads while you're there, and leave me some comments on the quality of the sounds and any suggestions including mix, or even song request's. I can't guarantee I can meet requests, But i have more pantera on the way. I know a couple spots sound fake, but jam out with them and tell me what i can do to improve the mix....
www.dropd.net go to the backing trx link....
Thanks to IroncladDimez for supplying the midi file for me...
Dimes String Gauge?
by Pentan on Mon Mar 31, 2008 4:40 pm
What string gauge did Dime use when he tuned down 1 step?
btw what string gauge do you use?
I use 10 - 52 for 1 step down on my DoF but it get so damn muddy with the dimebucker, when I use the same gauges on my HT with EMGs its much cleaner n better tone.
Will put lighter gauges in my DoF to get the dimebucker rippin!
Havent decided if I shall go for 48 or 46 Im afraid 46 will be alittle to bright?
