Got this back from my Luthier today, He put a new fretboard (Brazillian Rosewood) with rolled edges and SS frets.....

Next week, I'm taking it to the painter to refinish the Neck and Headstock, then final assembly and set-up.

i love the snakeskin oriented dime guitars, like the new stealth, and i recently saw this one on carlinoguitars.com . i love it, yet have never seen it anywhere else. anyone know of any other snake related deans?

I've just been wonderin if i should invest in the Randall RX120 half stack, and then Boss ME50, Whammy, Crybaby From Hell, MXR Six band EQ, and then some kind of boost. Or if I should save for a looooong time and get a Randall Century, or some other affordable solid state Half stak/stack. Any amp suggestions would help!

Here is my review of the Funkymonky Washburn 333 D3 slime.

Well where do I start
well the neck is freaking awesome! I love the neck! it goes from a v neck tward the headstock and a c way down tward the body, its basicly a v neck,the craftsmanship is real nice for an import made in indonesa but dont let that fool you,I have played dean usa and usa washy's and its damn close to usa built quality,the fretboard and frets are impecable, nice big jumbos that feel and look great!
we all know the dimebucker ruels in the bridge and the symore duncan 59 in the neck position rules to, sounds nice and warm,gets a good dime tone for some solos,the finnish is top notch,the buzz fieten system really seems to work,its nice and even all the way up the neck stays nicely in tune,one of the best things about this guitar is the neckjoint,it gives easy acces to the upper frets with ease,the Schaller made Floyd Rose Lisc Bridge is nicer in my opinion than the ones on the dean imports.
all and all I would highly recomend this axe, I give it a 8.9 out of 10,10 being like a usa or a real dime guitar.Oh! and did I mention the matching headstock? thats sweet to!

OK im about to remove the bridge pickup from my washburn 333 and replace it with the L500XL from my 79MLF. Ive never done this before, so i need some help. What temperature do i need to set the iron at? i was going to try 40%, is this too cold or would it be ok?

I read that the XL in the DFH's are flipped like Dime's. Is this true?

just been thinking about the LFR's that come on pretty much all Deans. I'm not a huge fan of the screw in arm, and have been considering getting a different FR. I just don't know which to get, any help would be appreciated. Oh, and i like the ones with the bushing on the arm, OFR type.

The National Rifle Association has named Officer James D. Niggemeyer, of the Columbus (Ohio) Division of Police, as
its 2005 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.



Officer Niggemeyer was one of several officers who responded to a violent, chaotic situation on the night of December 8,
2004. A little after 10:00 p.m., 911 operators began receiving multiple panic-stricken calls from a local nightclub. During a
concert, a man had rushed the stage and fired shots at the band. In moments, seven people were wounded, four fatally.



Officer Niggemeyer, patrolling just blocks away, was the first officer to arrive on the scene, less than three minutes after
the first 911 call was received. Niggemeyer entered the building through the rear; five more officers arrived momentarily
and entered through side doors. Dead and wounded citizens lay on the floor, shots were still being fired, and several
hundred people were trying to escape.

Despite the chaos, Officer Niggemeyer was able to spot the gunman quickly, near the rear of the stage. Retreating from
the other officers, the suspect had grabbed a hostage, immobilized him in a headlock, and was holding a gun against the
man's temple. Positioning himself about 20 feet from the suspect, Niggemeyer, armed with a 12 gauge Remington 870,
was able to get off one well-placed shot, killing the gunman instantly and ending the carnage. The gunman still had 35
rounds of ammunition when Niggemeyer shot him.



Commenting on Officer Niggemeyer, NRA 1st Vice President John C. Sigler, a retired police captain and now an attorney
practicing in Maryland and Delaware, said, "It isn't every day that an officer is faced with a decision like this. NRA's
Officer of the Year made the right decision under the most adverse conditions and relied on his training and experience
to save the life of an innocent civilian victim. No one can doubt his dedication to duty or his willingness to take
responsibility for his actions. In today's society, law enforcement officers of this caliber must be recognized and
commended. NRA commends this officer for a tough job well done."



Adding to his accolades was Niggemeyer's immediate supervisor, Columbus P.D. Sergeant Jeff Leesburg, who said,
"There is no greater example of police service than placing oneself between the threat and the innocent."

So how many people here where into PanterA before the assasination? No lost love for the youngsters who missed out on PanterA when they where still together. It's great that the legacy lives on and continues to inspire a new generation of metal fans. I got into PanterA in '93 when I first heard VDOP. I had the chance to see them once touring with Ozzfest in '00 I believe. And I remember the morning driving to work when I heard the news that Dime was murdered. Still hits like a brick when I sit back and ponder it. The radio station played Drag the Waters in rememberance right after the announcement. Now that song still has that memory attached to it.

In a bad turn of events I may be selling my rust razorback which I bought from new and have used about for times.

The guitar is mint with tags and everything as it would be new, I am truly gutted about this but I thought I would offer it on here first to you guys.

I was looking on the dean website and the razorback explosion lefty looks brighter than the righty. is it really brighter or is this just cuz of a bad photoshop?

2 questions. one, i am looking at a pic of Dime witha crown on, and on his ML, there is something that looks like a string retainer, but really long and up at the middle of the HS, what is it? And 2, i was reading in Guitar World that Grady said that Dime's Century 200's lasted like 4 World tours, but he couldn't talk about the Kranks, because he wasn't really around for that. If he wasn't, then who was?

Meant to take a couple of pics before as I've had the Warpig in for ages. Sounds great and totally transformed the guitar and made me fall in love with it again.

Stock pickup ring didn't work with it (sizewise) and the only thing I could find at hand was a cream coloured one, so just used that as it plays off of the zebra Super Distortion at the neck.

It's especially great because I don't care if anyone thinks it looks worse - I like it and it sounds a million times better than before (my opinion of course ) :p

I bought it when it first came out a couple of years ago or so, whenever it was. i watched it once, and some how it dissappeared right after that and i haven't seen it since. I thought someone stole it. i found it today. after two years i found it behind all of my other DVD's. so i watched it today and it was GLORIOUS!!!!!!!!! what a good day.

i would go for it but i am coming up with the money for my Stealth LE #10. i also like the way deans feel more than 333's. This is one has always been one of my favorite paint jobs though.

Dean Import DFH, It's The Most Signature Dime Sig Guitar, and it
doesnt have the word Dime on it.(nothing against dime but i just
feel that the military like stencil lettered Dime on the other tribute
guitars could be better. but it was like that on dime's own guitars) I
have heard that it has the best feel ever. Thing I Don't like is that
the lightning bolt looks too signature to dime, and that's easy to
change.



Jon's Limited Run of the FM333 Slimes, Same Feel of the DFH
probably. Heard great about it too from cross of iron. But thing is I
just love rosewood. great finish on it too.

333!!!!!

Whats better The Washburn Stealth Or The Washburn 333? I was just wondering what others thought was the better model. I like the Stealth better.

we all know the ingrediants ..ml ,bl l 500 xl(fliped try it),this goes to the wireless which then the signal gets split we will talk about that later,right now ill talk about the dirty channel, it is mxr six band (blue)furman pq3 or 4, digitech whammy 1, vox or cfh wah, rocktron guitar silencer , rg 100 es (ht live),cenutury 200, mxr flanger doubler..bad ass tone from your hands picking and muting right..a few shots dont hurt either ,Gethcha pull..haha..So anyway this is what i do my rig is scatterd between my home and rehershal spot so i wont have picks untill i get it all home but they will be up...back to the point first thing i do is YES I FLIP MY BL it may not make a diffrence to som people but it seems to for me..if you can have your guitar set up with no tone nob just volume..then i run that into the mxr six band now here i think is the trick i dont crank anything on the six band its sounds muddy and shity this way i think my highest slider is right above 9 and that is 800...the 100 is just above flat the 200 is where i get my gain take it to where is sounds muddy then pull it back just right before that happens about id say 6 db now the 400 seems to be where you get clarity and attack turn it up to much its mushy turn it down to much its way to brittle so i have this set a lil bit below the 200 ...the 800 is at just above 9 db and the other two sliders are just a hair under the 800 and the same with the next one slight downhill effect...that i belive gets that dime gain and tone...now the furman all kinds of fun here this basically just takes that raw open signal ads some gain and makes it tghter...i use a pq3 this is what i do master level is on about 6.5,7..the first freq i use is either arround 150 or i take is up to about 500 the bandwith i dont set much more than a quarter way up..the level here is at 3 slightly more db...second band here is where you scoop...so i take this freq and set it between 400 and 800 the band with here is important set it low just to where you can here it has an effect lil bit less then the first bandwith nob..and then setteh level at about minus 3 or slightly more...now your on to sharpening up the tone...which is done with the 6000 band pick you bandwith to taste and level about 3 db or more... now run all that into your whammy and wah...run that signal into your rocktron guitar silencer..i set everything to the damage plan pics and it works great for the gate which is all nobs about 75 percent of the way up and the last one on each chan, set to your liking i set mine about 35 percent of the way up....this signal gets split into two or more i use two..and goes into two randall heads the ones we talked about above...now the dry head has a hair less gain on it ..the wet head has gain maxed and the flanger doubler always on in the loop...this is set low for reg parts and high for sqeals and solos...the heads are set this is all from memory by the way put ill get the pics up..gain maxed (less on dry head) presence 7 bass 8 mid 4 treb 4.5 volume 3 or slightly less....now like i said above the signal was spilit before the rack and a/b one for dirty one for clean....the clean tone isnt as important as the dime distortion tone but he used a dean markley rm 80 in his rack with some kinda processor for verb i think a quad verb...he also used a fender head for cleans on trendkill. one more thing to remember is dimes tone was not super loud the pressure of teh solid state amp can not be over powering your speaker it has to stay tight which is done by having a low volume just before the speaker breaks up......anyway pics soon good luck..try it out

Hi all, as you can guess from the title this is my first post, I have only just joined:)
There's two things I want to say:
1)I've been looking around on the Dime forum for a while now and how come so many of you have such amazing guitars!!??

and

2)I have seen someone with the username 'Slaytanic', and it just so happens my brother wrote a song called Slaytanic because the riffs he made for it sounded like Slayer kind of stuff

And also I look forward to talking with fellow Dime-sheep about the great man and guitars in general

I searched for "Kiss stickers" but didn't see if this hadn't been discussed before. I couldn't find one so here goes.

Why aren't Kiss stickers on the tribute Deans? To be associated with Dime gives can mean only good things for Kiss and Dimes legacy.

I'm sure it came down to money, but which party was being greedy? Does it just conflict with endorsement deals from other manufacturers? Even if that is the case you'd think that everyone would bend the rules in honor of Dime.

Just curious.
