The face from the Krankenstein. just wanted to see if anybody could find that, just wanted to gaze at what i may never own. didn't know if i should post this here, but whatever.

Not sure what to call this one... something to think about.
Well, kiss my a s s. Never thought it would happen, but it has.
There has not been one thing to ask Darrell, one topic to talk about that I already knew what he was going to say. As far as I was concerned, if I had any questions, I already had all the answers. We had covered all the bases, from childhood to adulthood and a ton of wacky s h i t in between. In our renewed friendship during the Damageplan era, he would stay up all night, every nite, while I drove the bus, talking my f u c k i n g head off all the while doing shots, pouring s h i t on my head, pulling on the steering wheel and blasting Dokken, Van Halen, Metallica, Priest, April Wine, etc. etc. He had alot to say, and he wanted to tell me about it. Vince would get up to take a piss, & he would come up front & say "Dude, you're egging him on playing that music. He needs to get some sleep man." Darrell would look at him with his wide eyed, drunk, s h i t eating grin, and Vince would just shake his head and go back to bed. One time, Darrell noticed that while we had been playing Dokken, he had not heard "The Hunter" and wanted me to play it. I told him that I had the cd, but it was somewhere under the bus in the bays & I had no idea where it was. Well, perfect opportunity for some hijinks... So after a half hour of him yelling, pulling on the steering wheel, opening the door & assorted stupid s h i t, I finally relented & stopped on the side of the road to search the bays for the d a m n cd. I had so many boxes of s h i t and bags out there in the grass. It took an hour and a half to find the stupid cd. All the while he was running up & down the hill of the side of the road, pouring shots & then rolling down the hill, & just sitting out in the grass belting out "I'm the hunter!!!" Once we were back on the road that was it. He made me play that song over and over.... and over again. To my best recollection it was forty one times in a row. I know it was forty something. We played that song until we finally got to where we were going. All the while he was singing it, and wasen't happy if I wasen't singing it with him, briefly falling asleep, waking up, pouring a shot, and doing it all over again. I don't know what he liked about that f u c k i n g song, but he liked it. He loved it! "I'M THE HUNTER!!!"
Anyhow. I don't know how I got off on that, but since you guys like stories... there you go.
So, what I wanted to ask Darrell was if he ever really took notice of Akira Takasaki. When we were kids Pantera did cover a few Loudness songs, and I did have a few older Loudness albums laying around. But the most he did was learn the songs. Not a Loudness fan. What made me think of it was watching a shot of Loudness, this one to be exact, of an Akira solo.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ql1jPQp8dS8
Akira was playing stadiums, and had many albums under his belt when Darrell was just STARTING to come in to his own. The point is, their styles are VERY similar, which I believe to be totally by chance. There are obvious similarities, like Halen & Rhoads. But if you close your eyes & just listen, there are times that you can't tell the difference between Akira & Darrell. They are that similar!
Two stellar guitar players, each half a planet away from the other, & more often than not their fingers did the same talking! I just wanted to ask him what he thought about that, & if he tripped on it.
The catch is, I know he would have. But short of that, its something I will never know.
Sorry for all the misspelled words, I just don't have the time to go back & fix all that s h i t. Writing this took me almost three hours, believe it or not!
BLOW THEM GUITARS UP C'MON!!! I'M THE HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wrote this back in 2006 when I was writing a Metal column for an online mag. It took me a long time to come to grips with Darrells death in 04 and this is one of the ways I did it. Just thought Id share it with yall.
"Hey bro, hope things are cool with you where ever you are.
Man, I cant believe its been two years already. Seems like yesterday that I got the call that you were murdered. frackin time flies dont it? I dont deal with friends and family dying very well. I always just take the pain and just put it someplace dark and cold so I dont have to deal with it, but it always seems to find a way out in time. Now your really starting to come back to me. Just here in the last couple months all Ive been doing is thinking about how much you ment to me and millions of others, and its frackin killing me dude....It really frackin hurts ya know? Funny thing is, I never even met you in person, but I dont think I had to. I knew you thru your music, and any video of you. You made it impossible for any of us to not know you. Thats just how you were.
I give thanks everyday to the people that helped save so many lives the night you were killed. Jeff Thompson, Chris Peleska, John Grahm, John Brooks(aka The Kat), The Villa Rosa security guard that was killed, the fan from the audience that tried to stop Gale and was killed, the person that called 911, and probably most of all Officer Neggemeyer. If these brave souls hadent done the heroic things that they did, we wouldnt have Pat Lachman, Bobzilla, and your brother Vinnie Paul with us today. Im telling you what bro, its a good thing Officer Neggemeyer blew Nathon Gales head off with that shotgun because if he would have lived, it wouldnt have been for very long. Either myself or one of the millions of people that loved you would have torn him limb from limb for what he did to you. Thats a fact! If there is a Hell, Im sure hes there. Im also sure thats where Im heading, again if there is one and that son of a bitch is gonna wish it was Satan himself torturing him after I get thru with his ass, I promise you that!
Enough of that s#%t tho, Its just bringing me down even more than I already am. Im sure there is probably going to be a million letters written to you just like this one, well count me one million and one because this is the only way I know of to talk to you anymore. I just cant tell you how god damned unfucking fair this is! You were a hero to me, and millions of others around the world. There isnt a day that goes by that I dont listen to your music, or at least think about you. Just wanted to tell you that, but you probably already knew huh?
Well, Ive got a thousand other things I want to say right now but my heads going about a hundred miles an hour right now so Ill just let ya get back to hanging out with Randy, Bon, and all the other guys there. Im definatly planning on making the trip down to Texas to visit ya sometime. Count on it!
Take it easy dude. See ya soon!

P.S.- If anyone else would like to add something to my letter to Dime, feel free and and leave it here in your comments. Who knows, he just might be reading this."

Cashing in on Dime
by RayLam on Sat Jan 17, 2009 4:16 pm
Man I don't even want an ML anymore. Dean Makes me sick. They sunk to an all time low. Now they have made a Dime amp approved by Rita, which is just a rip off of a Randall. I can't believe Dime's ol'lady
is milking his name like this. I just hate how everybody is using Dimes Name to sell s#%t he didn't have any input on. Nobody will ever be what Dime was and buying s#%t with his name on it won't make you a better player. I am a huge Dimebag fan and I hate what they're doing to his name.
watched rock wifes last night...............
it had rita on there talking about dime's clothing line. and she was talking about how she spent the whole day with darrell before his funeral. shaving him and putting his jewelry on him.........she said she tried putting his earrings on................and she couldn't because some of his ear was gone...............that hurt me so much to hear that. darrell didn't deserve that. not in a thousand years. never. it just really bothered me to hear that. just thought i would share that with you guys. dime you were so great.
hi guys,
right then as some of you may know ive got the black bevelled st3 diamond plate axe..... you all know it.( the reinventing guitar)
anyway, what i wanna know is shall i get the reinventing the steel inlay done to my guitar????
so then it would be an exact replica of dimes.
i would only do this though if the price isnt like a big sucker puncher on my wallet.
any opinions are more than welcome!!
cheers guys

Pics of Pantera way back in the day!!!
I came across these pics posted on a group site about a nightclub in the town I used to live in. It was a great place to and hear bands. Many bands played there before they hit the big time.
I wasn't at this Pantera show. In fact, the only time I saw Pantera was when they opened for Skid Row.
So, here ya go:
Need help with effects, etc.
Alright brothers, I am in need of some advice. I have come to this forum a few times for reading and what not, but am fairly new. ANYWAY, I have been playing for a few years ( about three) and have been focusing on my guitar playing more than my sound. I feel I am at a point where I need to focus on my sound which is where anyone on here comes in. Here is my setup:
Randall RM100 Head ( KH Clean, Ultra, Treadplate)
Randall 4X12 Cab ( V30)
Pedal board:
Peterson Strobostomp
Crybaby from hell
MXR Zakk Wylde distortion
MXR Compressor
MXR 6 band EQ ( black one)
MXR Smart Gate
I also have a Marshall mini stack and a Fender FM amp. Guitar wise I have, to name a few, Dean from Hell #43, Washburn first run Nick Catanese ( #11 of 1 , Import cross, a bitch load of Schecters and a Fender showmaster. Now, why I am posting this in the Dimebag section? Well, if you are in the Dimebag Section you know about tone and slut banging metal:) my question to all who care to help me out is, what is the proper effect chain? Should I use my effects loop? If so, with which pedals? I am lost when it comes to any effects/amps. I like to just plug and play. So I want to get set up for some metal. Any help or comments is welcome, thanks bothers

DEAN FROM HELL..UNDAMAGED
by ATR1990 on Wed Jan 28, 2009 1:06 am
So here's a few shots of dime's DFH..
Sorry if this is a repost..
And here's a few classics..
anyone know where I can Get a TLT ML and anyone got pictures?
After three years as a Dean Owner and countless visits to the Dean website I finally joined the forum. I visited here in the Dimebag area yesterday and felt a sense of comfort reading through the stories and seeing everyone's pictures of their own Deans. It will now be a daily stop on my internet travels.
Crybaby From Hell Problem
Hey brothers, need some help. I come home and plug in for a face melting jam session. So I got everything hooked up and my pedals on, hit the standby switch on the amp, and all I get is static. Loud ass static. I found the problem, my Crybaby From Hell. So with the guitar going into the wah, on the right side, and the output going to my amp, I get loud static. If I rock the wah up and down, it cuts the sound, like a wah should, only not getting a sound from my guitar. Anyway, I hook up my guitar to the other side( Left side) of the wah and it works, only very very low. With my amp up pretty high, gain on ten, it sounds like my amp is very low and with little gain. I called Dunlop tech support, but they were out, so I just wanted to see if anyone one here had any similiar problems or possibilities as to what the F is up.
hi guys just want to know more about dimes culprits?
i know that he designed them with washburn quite early on but does anyone know more about them...
i know that they only made them in the form of the korean import did dime usa a usa culprit?
also...
whats the difference between them because ive seen ones with different numbers the cp 2003 and a cp 2000 are these just the yeard they were made?
Hi everybody
I just figured out how to record pretty well with my amp. Well after about some tweaking the video and sound. Both of which I had to do seperately, and then sync which was a b*tch.
Anyways this was my end product. Nothing too special, but it works.

Has anyone else here not heard of these Pantera vocalists before?!? I've only read and heard stories about Phil Anselmo and Terry Glaze until tonight. For fun, I went to the metal archives website and clicked Pantera..., man, was I surprised to see 6 vocalists listed.
