does anyone own a buddy blaze ml? Was just wondering if the different neck angle and top mounted floyd made a big difference. I have always wished dean would make the same thing that dime had, the top mounted floyd, instead of the recessed. I think it would provied more sustain. Just thinking out loud.I tried out an evh wolfgang that was flat mounted and it did not float. seems to me dime could pull up a hell of a lot more without the recessed route. Watch the old videos like in moscow and see how far he pulls that bar back compared to washburn recessed tremsin live youtube videos. I'm telling you, it' could be the secret to the dime technique. I wish dean would start making the way that dime had it. Seemed to work the way he was doing it. I hate having my strings flap on the bridge pickup and kill the tone.
did i hear someone said that dime used a fuzz pedal on one of the albums. if so what did he use it for?

Pics of Dimes guitars at Namm
I was goofing around on you tube the other day and ended up enthrawled in some dime vids. I ended up exchanging a few emails with a guy and we were talking about Dime, I mentioned these pics that I took at the 2005 Namm show in Indianapolis and he said I should post them here that there is people that would appreciate it.
quick note, this namm show was pretty cool, I was in a good mood, checking out gear, hung out with Kerry King for a minute (anyone could, he was just standing there at the BC booth) ran into Bataio at the tradition booth, then I ran into this, the Dimebag tribute set up, it wiped me out. I couldnt stop looking at it, I walked around it for about a hour, then went into the PRS booth and that was such a different world... I got so bummed I went out of the convention center and hung out with a homeless guy under the overpass. and went home. I have a bunch of other pics from this show, but these are the pics of Dimes stuff, so out of the "my pics" folder and onto you guys where they belong, sorry I didnt think of this earlier.

Need opinions, and picture ideas....
I've been working on a sleeve (tattoos) for about a year now, just getting a little bit at a time, my main focus of this sleeve has been horror/scifi and want to continue in that vein, only 2 pieces of it are "normal" pics, the rest are drawings my daughter did when she was 2 & 5, so.... my idea is to incorperate a tribute to Dime in with all of it, I was thinking of doing a pic of Dime as a Zombie, to keep in the the horror theme.....
What do you guys think of this idea?
I wanted to do something abit original, as opposed to the normal tattoo tributes I've seen.
Got any picture ideas? wanna try to find one that not the standard Dime pic.
Thanks for your input....

TGST vs CFH (Tone) ?
on Thu Oct 22, 2009 4:47 pm
Aside from all the songs being tuned to D (and C#), how come it sounds so much harder than CFH?
Does the PQ-3 add more dirt than the PQ-4?
Why Dime leave Randall Amplifiers and go to KranK Amp?

far beyond driven tone
on Sat Oct 24, 2009 3:00 am
Anyone here able to get that Far Beyond Driven tone? It's a unique beast since he was running three different halfstacks. It doesn't have that vulgar crunch to it. It's way different tonewise, IMO. Anyone tried doing what he did, running three different amps with different sounds. I remember him saying one was set up regular, one was set up dry and one had the flanger doubler. One sounded great, one sounded bassy, and the other one sounded hollow. If I remember right.
found a li'll somethin somethin ....
it may be of interest to some of you fine folks on here...i know its not a dean guitar but still deserves attention in the dime thread for sure!! it would be mine if i had the cashola to fork over
seems like a super decent price for a killer axe !!
Post your Dime Signature Models!
New guy here, Currently undecided on what Dime model to get, So a thread where everyone posts their beauts would help
If there's already a pron thread, someone just point it out, and i'll remove this one
In the begining he plays A New Level, Walk, and then Primal Concrete Sledge. Anyone see anything wrong? I didn't realize all those songs where in drop tuning. How else would he play Primal Concrete Sledge along with the two other songs? Weird!
RG 100ES foot switch problem, help!
I won a RG 100 ES on ebay, it came with the original footswitch. But I still have trouble till now. When not connect it, the Randall sounds both chanels. When connect the footswitch, I can still hear the sound of chanel A go through even when I switch to chanel B, but the B's sound is louder. The text on the footswitch is can't be read so I don't know why it have 2 button for just switch A/B?.
Can anyone help me? Thanks so much!
Out of the current Randall models available, which one could give you the closest Dime tone?
And I mean out of the Amps they are making today
