My tribute to Dime (RIP)

Hello! Here's some pics of my Vendetta 1.0 with some cool Dean/Dime decals I found online. It still has the stock pups which I think sound very decent for the $125.00 I payed for the guitar but I'm thinking about maybe putting in something more "Dime". If anybody has any pup suggestions of the lowest budget kind I would appreciate it.

Dime's stacks on stage?
by DeanLover on Thu Nov 05, 2009 6:44 pm
Hi.

On Slayer photos you can see the walls of marshall stacks and as we know Dime had the same. He had walls of randalls like on this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5_BTGES-U0&feature=related for example.
Just wondering how many stacks was he using... (or he was using, don't sure ;P)

Time ago i heard that Dime had tube amp with flanger/doubler for better clean whitch randalls didn't have. So i think it could be one stack for this.

So... talk mode on Smile

by lordkronos187 on Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:25 am
cant be helped especially with that day just over a month away. im getting a little edgy. i still have a hard time with it.

my 3 year old came running up to me and says "my penny, my penny!"

i look and he has a single dime in his hand minted 1981.

Dime, dean from hell guitar year 1981, i dont know that it means anything but it gave me pause. that and im seeing 333 everywhere lately...

i dunno. i felt compelled to share.

Does anyone know what pickup dime used in the neck on his original DFH?
dimes dean of destiny
by marker on Sun Nov 08, 2009 12:55 am
I read this article about buddy building the dfh a while back and I remember a few pics of it during buddy's construction. The floyd looked way lopsided. I just looked that article back up and it just shows the dfh painted with no bridge. Anyone have pics of buddys' guitars that he was building along with the dfh. Seems like one was polka dot. anyways the question is in pics of the dfh, the bridge does not look as crooked when dime had it as it was in the other pics I saw when Buddy was building. it. I am just wondering if the floyd was moved later? Just curious

Help Clear up Dimes Settings for Me Please!
by classic_rocker978 on Thu Nov 12, 2009 8:58 pm
Well I know he used the blue 6 band eq... PQ-3... and Rg100ES.

That can get you in the Dime tone ballpark.

What were his 6 band settings though? A picture would be great but even something as basic as knowing whether or not it was a frown or a smiley shape would be awesome..

What was he doing with the PQ3?

Anyone know his "Basic" amp settings used in conjuction with the rest of his gear.

Thanks guys, I know this has been discussed to death. Ive just been reading a ton of conflicting ideas about his settings.

I think the 6 band had a frown shape... How frowned I have no idea...

The PQ3 had a scooped setting.... Dunno bout his amp settings.

MY USA DIME ST3'S MAYBE FOR SALE!!!!!
by dimebagjon86 on Wed Nov 18, 2009 3:35 pm
HI GUYS,

Right then, as some of you guys are aware i am the owner of a diamond plated st3 in what i would consider near to perfect condition. I also have a standard st3 in what is "AS NEW"...... I really mean this it is brand new and probably one of the only few in existance to be of this quality.

thing is i am having trouble financially and have figured i have alot of money tied up in these guitars.

the diamond plate is the reinventing the steel era (black bevel) and it is believed to be one of only 7 in existence (the 8th being dimes himself)

i am not stupid and i now the value of these guitars so if you are interested please get in contact with a sensible offer. i am in no rush to sell these but needs must. so for the right price i am willing to let one go!

remember the rarity of these guitars and the condition of them, please dont offer me trades and equipment because i wont reply. genuine, serious offers only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to see the guitars i have a posted a link to my previous post!!!

cheers guys!!!!!
Dimebags Tone - Frequency Analysis
by classic_rocker978 on Thu Nov 19, 2009 10:20 pm
Image

There is a Frequency Analysis of Dimes tone.

I chose parts in songs where only Dime plays and then analyzed and averaged out the analysis.

This is what I got. Figured it would help people visually get an idea of what Dime was doing with his EQ.
How many Pantera tab books are there? I want em all!
by Noz85 on Thu Nov 19, 2009 11:06 pm
I don't currently own any of them. I want to know how many there are, and see what they look like so I can buy em..

Post em up - wanna see pics

Anybody own this one?

Is it just a few songs from each one?

Image

I'd rather have a tab book of each individual album. Anybody know if a tab book for each album even exists?

Hey guys,

look what i just scored on evilbay!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120491028351&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching

I already have a pq3 and a pq4 and have been very pleased with them so i thought it would be worth it. And the price was right as well!

So any info about them? Anyone has experience with those? First time i see one of them. It looks really promising though.

Also, do you know where i can find a spare knob (one on the left is not original)? Thanks
Slimebolt
by Tintoy13 on Fri Nov 20, 2009 12:39 pm
Does anyone have any good shot's of the Slimebolt that Washy made for Dime? The one with a single coil at the neck and a bucker at the bridge? Also does anyone know what the single coil was/is?

Cheers
(LIVE) Domination solo - outro?
by Noz85 on Fri Nov 20, 2009 4:48 pm
The outro to the Domination solo is different on the album to how Dime played it live.

Any body got a good tab for this? Never managed to find it

Thanks Cool
