Harmony leads on Hollow
by Spite on Wed Jun 03, 2009 2:37 am
Is it doable with the Digitech Whammy's Harmony function?
Have you pulled it off, and if so, how didcha do it?
Or is there no choice but to doubletrack that part of the song?
Good Morning. Happy Friday.
Start it with some audio caffeine Dean/Dime style.

Need Help About Buying My First Dime Axe....
Hi everyone, Im new here, I hope its ok to ask questions even though it involves Washburn guitars. Anyway, Im going to buy my first Dime Guitar but I cant decide which one. My options are, Dean From Hell, Dean Stealth Snakeskin, Dean Razorback Shards, Dean ML79 with OFR, Dean ML Knight, Washburn Funky Munky Slime, Washburn Funky Munky White Lightning, Washburn Dime 2ST. Which one do you think is the best? (Playability, Looks, Practicality) Any opinions, suggestions will really help. Thanks in advance. Btw, I am willing to spend $500-$800 only and these guitars are all in Ebay within this price range (Dropped Pricetag, B-Stocks, Used, Etc...) Thanks again....
Cheers...
I have been looking at these online but I haven't seen any good photos of them besides the stock ones.
And yes, I've tried Google, and there are like 2 pics and they both suck.
Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone who owns one of these or somehow has some photos could post some pron so I can see these beauties up close.
Thanks.

Acoustic Pantera ideas?
by riklite on Mon Jun 08, 2009 1:46 pm
I'm working on an acoustic set list that has stuff like Blind Melon and Incubus. I'm gonna do "This Love" but I'm just gonna sing the screaming part. Has anyone done any acoustic Pantera covers? I'd like some other ideas if you have any. Suicide Note Part 1 would be good but I don't have a 12 string. It sounds lacking with a 6 string.
Alternative to MXR Flanger/Doubler?
by Spite on Mon Jun 08, 2009 5:01 pm
Does it exist?
Just need the doubling part.
Something you can buy new, out of the box, rather than having to look for it on ebay?
So my dad doesn't know much about Dimebag...
by riklite on Mon Jun 08, 2009 6:51 pm
My dad and I are in a folk/rock band together and I've been talking to him a lot about how Dimebag is my idol. The other day he was like, "why did they call him Dimebag? With all the money they made, he should have been called Poundbag or something." He started calling me "Ouncebag."
Not sure where to put this...
This is Pantera/Dime related, so I figured I would drop it here.
Does anybody have a good Cowboys From Hell tab on Guitar Pro?

A double shot of Crown with a drop of coke?
My dad's throwing me a graduation party this weekend and he said I could have my choice of alcohol. I figure why not celebrate for Dime too. I wanted to mix up one huge Blacktooth and pull from that.
A friend was telling me to take a 1/5 of Jager and a 1/5 of Seagram's 7 and mix those with a can of coke.
Is this accurate?
Anyone know the FM333 Rebel specs?
I have a FM333 Rebel on the way. I've always wanted that guitar and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I've read a few comments on it here and there, mostly very positive. Does anyone know the specs? Funky Munky usually lists all the specs but since they are no longer selling this model it is nowhere to be found on their site. I was hoping to run across their old ebay ad somewhere but haven't had any luck with that either.
Anyway, I own a FM333 Slime (First run back in '06) and I love it. I already know that the Rebel is a cheaper guitar and won't quite compare since the slime is based off of the D3. I have just always wanted this paint job and since it has a set neck and floyd rose, I'm happy. I had a 333 Dimebolt at one time but I sold it after buying my Dean from Hell. It played fine and I liked it. My friend was surprised I even sold it. So...would you guys say that the FM333 Rebel is pretty much the same guitar as the 333 dimebolt in terms of specs? If it is that is good enough for me. I heard it has an alder body and different neck shape, like the original 333. I already have a spare L-500XL to throw in it and I plan to try out that Dime Time neck pickup. I will at least be replacing the tremelo arm if not the whole tremelo as well.
What are your opinions on this guitar, considering the fact that I am upgrading a few things? I'm only expecting it to be as good as my old 333 Dimebolt, so is it? While I'm at it, what do you guys think of the Dime Time neck pickup?
Dime's Resting Place
by rridner on Thu Jun 11, 2009 12:14 pm
What cemetery is Dime buried in? Is it close to the Dallas/Fort Worth airport? Have you been there? How will I find Dime's grave? On my flight back from Canun in August, I have a 5hr or so layover in TX - I would love to take this opportunity to try and visit Dime's grave. I have never been to TX and I can't see myself being there again anytime soon. I hope I am able to make this happen. Would be great to visit Dime on the tail end of my honeymoon. Any info would be helpful and appreciated! Thanks

Pantera July Friday the 13th 2001
Hi, Guys
I'm new here, but I always come to this forum to find new news on guitars and on dime and whatever i need for playing, setting up and what not.'
I've noticed that the dimebag tribute area hasn't seen a lot of attention and if it does it is usually questions that have been asked many times.. Anyways, I just want to share my experience seeing Pantera on the Extreme Steel Tour.
I had been a Pantera fan since like '99 and I never thought I would have the chance to see them live until a buddy of mine said Pantera was coming to Little Rock, Arkansas. We were all stunned that Pantera would come this close to us. The line up as most of you know was Pantera, Slayer, Static X, Scrape and Morbid Angel.
I was 14 back then and the show was on Friday the 13th. I was scared because I had heard stories on how brutal Pantera and Slayer shows were.
So the night before the show I ask my gramps if I can stay the night at a friends. I didn't bring up going to see the baddest metal bands ever... He said no, but I told him we were going fishing in the morning so he gave in. Thats a lie I will neverrr regret..
So we get to the show and were standing up waiting for morbid angel to come on and I was sooo tired of standing. It was soo hot. Morbid Angels sound guys came out to do their sound check and when they hit the double bass to check the drumms the tarp on the stage was bouncing and it was so loud it was pounding against my chest.
Then Morbid Angel came on and blew us the f.u.c.k. away. We had never seen anything like that before because it was my first concert. I can't remember what they played but I know they played Chapel of Ghouls. Morbid Angel were insanee live.
Scrape totally blew. The only good thing about them is that there was a girl showing her perfectly shaped breasts for them. I'll never forget that set of jugs.
Static X totally ripped. I dont' like their music much but they put on a bad ass show. The bass player said that if we didn't go insane during Pantera and Slayer that he would personally come kick everyones ass who weren't moving around.
Slayer
They totally blew my frippin mind!!! The pit got soo hard and I had flip flops on like an IDIOT. My feet got stomped on soo many times. I was right infront of Jeff Hanneman the whole time and I was just going crazy and he would look at me and give the most insane metal grin ever. They blew me away.
Now for the best part of the show. PANNTERAA
It took forever for them to come out, but when they did they blew the roof off the place. They started with Hellbound, then Mouth for War, 5 minutes Alone, Becoming, War Nerve, I'll Cast A Shadow, Revolution is My Name, This Love, Walk.
Then they did something totally unexpected. They brought out Kerry King to play Fu.ck.ing Hostile and God Damn electric with them. It was the best metal moment of my whole life.. Watching Dimebag Darrell and Kerry King headbanging alongside eachother was a dream come true..
Pantera also play Primal Concrete Sledge, the end of Throes of Rejection afterBecoming, and Cowboys from Hell..
I lost one of my flip flops during the fast heavy part before no more head trips on this love
Best night of my life guys. Just wanted to share that
They totally owned and I was so pumped. My flipflop got thrown on the stage. It was amazing... Dime, Phil, Vinnie, and Rex were on firee
Anyone use the Dean Dime Time neck pickup yet?
by Stevenam on Sun Jun 14, 2009 11:28 pm
I know some guys on here said they were going to order one and then post their opinions. I can't find any posts of anyone talking about this pickup. So what do you guys who've used it think about it? I'm thinking about getting one since I already have a Duncan '59 in two other guitars. Plus the '59 always sounds very deep and has more bass than I'd like. I'm hoping the Dime Time is a worthy pickup.
I stumbled across this track that has Dime playing guitar and singing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcskzJm6BfA
Damn, talent just pissed out of him.
i have a line 6 spider 3 and im planning on getting a ehx metal muff plus a dean razorback.i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get a good dime tone out of them.
First of all im new to this thread so if this has been asked, im sorry i looked for about 10 or so pages and couldnt find anything, but my question is has anyone seen or played on of these? ive never seen it in person, only in the internet. and i was wondering if it was anygood and if its body is big enough to rout for a floyd rose, i hate hard tails.......

Randall warhead please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a randall warhead and when I play on the clean channel the speakers crackel only if I hit the strings hard and it stops if I turn the tone down on my guitar can someone please help ????????
I just watched the video for it on Dean On demand. I'm very apprehensive about it because it seems like something Dean could slap Dime's name on and make a buck, but the tone actually sounded pretty good. Does anybody have any info and specs on it?
Got A Question about my custom stealth
Please don't flame me about scale length I am just wondering if this would work....
Would a 24 fret neck be long enough to make the acale length right? It is longer than a 22 fret, unless they only make them with a fretboard extension.
Floyd Rose is Non-Recessed routing(smaller floyd hole) and Schaller is Recessed(bigger floyd hole) or is it the other way around and which is more comfortable in your opinion(higher squeals, easiest to move bar, etc.)
I'm having problems...... How do you share a PDF?
I know there is probably already a thread like this some where else on this forum but I need some advice. i can make good rhythm parts for songs but i get to a solo section and i stop dead in my tracks. Any advice would be gratly appreciated.
I'VE GOT EM! THE DAMAGEPLAN GUITAR TUNINGS!

Breathing New Life: D flat, A flat, D flat, G flat, B flat, E flat
New Found Power: B flat, F, B flat, E flat, G, C
Pride: B, F#, B, E, G#, C#
F**k You: B flat, F, B flat, E Flat, G, C

I just had an idea that sounds like a winner. Each day someone will find a video of Dime on you tube that we all should see, even if we have before. This includes some of the old rare stuff like what I've added today.
So for today, I give you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmt0OBsI5tg
Keep this going in honor of Dime!!!
I am thinking of actually buying a CBV and doing this
I would change it to black with silver bevels to.
how hard is it to change a fretboard?

by marker on Tue Jun 23, 2009 2:20 am

I know dime played purple haze at that weed concert thingy, but what did he think about jimi's playing and the one thing I really want to know. Could dime play little wing? help me out please!~just gots to know.
For those who seek the frequency settings.... with PRON!
by TOUGEFC on Tue Jun 23, 2009 7:36 am
Well after spending hrs on this forum seaching for tips and looking at dimes rig photos and spending many hrs on the PQ3. Ive found the Dime tone ive been looking for
Now im not saying that all the settings that have been posted are wrong, infact some were very close, i just wasnt happy with them on my rig , so ive came across some that do, now these probably wont work for everyone because everyone plays different and with different gear etc.... But these may help someone looking for the Dime tone, and depending on your rig you may have to make a few adjustments? But this works for me
Anyway its setup like this-
Guitar>>>>MXR 6band>>>>>
PQ3>>>>>>Noisegate>>>>>Amp (Mine is a RG40)
use the dirty channel.
Here are the settings pron-
I hope these are of a help to some people.
Now these settings arnt perfect but its pretty darn close on my rig
I have heard alot of talk about these to pickups and i was just wondering what you guys think.

Download: FULL 1991 Moscow Monsters of Rock Set
I've been sent numerous pm's over the last several months asking about this and a lot of other people have indicated their interest as well and I finally got around to zipping and uploading this amazing set. This is the FULL Pantera set at the Monsters of Rock show in Moscow way back in '91. This contains full performances(CFH + Psycho Holiday solos) of the black and white videos made famous in the vulgar videos plus five other songs not included in VV. The set list is as follows:
Domination w/ original CFH badass intro
Psycho Holiday
Cowboys from Hell
Primal Concrete Sledge
Cemetery Gates
The Art of Shredding
Heresy
Mouth for War
This Love
So without further ado, the url to the file:
http://www.easy-share.com/1906142116/08 September 28, 1991 - Tushino Air.zip
You need to copy + paste that into your browser.
I'm not sure about their download policies, so I'd download it fast. Once it's gone, its gone.
I hope you guys enjoy what I believe may be the greatest live performance ever.

I'm Broken vs. Mary had a little lamb
One of the first songs i tried to learn was "Mary had a little lamb" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. I just got a Pantera tab book and while trying to get the intro to "I'm Broken" I couldn't help but notice a bit of similarity.
Both Texans, I've wondered if their might be some influence there.
