Warhead Original VS Warhead X2
by audiox on Thu Mar 04, 2010 4:01 pm
I've been looking at youtube videos and try to figure out which one to get (Both for sale locally, and warheads are pretty rare in Norway).
They both seem like good heads, but i've heard that the X2 has reliability problems. Which one do you think is the most brutal sounding amp of those two? I know that the original warhead sounds insane when overdriven, and i haven't heard the X2 with an overdrive, but it sounds good without.
The X2 is almost twice the price as the original, which is a second gen btw.
The Original Warhead:
Guitar straight into the amp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5xBfoe5DrY
With Maxon Overdrive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP21hUK-o-w&feature=related
The X2:
Nothing but the amp w/ noise gate and wah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgmUKD_9nPs&feature=related
PQ4 in the loop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykH8omT5JIE&feature=related
I'm kinda leaning towards the original, as it's cheaper.
Opinions?
i dont know if any of you guys here remember me but i finally remembered my password. so........hows it been guys?
Does someone have a USA slime they want to sell??
washburn dime roadkill??????
has anyone ever heard of a washburn dime roadkill? apparently there were only 50 made! ive never heard of them!
washburn stealth usa prices???
as some of you are aware, i am the lucky owner of two usa washburn stealths. One being a mint condition 1 of 7 reinventing the steel diamond plate guitars with the black bevel and the other being probably the mintest usa st3 in the world. it is literally brand spanking new and only ever had minimal play from myself!!
literally, it is like it has just left the factory....
well anyway, i would just like some idea or rough estimates of how much to advertise these guitars for. i have had alot of interest for these guitars but from jokers!!! i was offered $1200 for my diamond plate and i paid £3000 pound each for the guitars as they are so mint and impossible to come by in the uk.
so can someone give me heads up on prices!
Got a present for you guys.

Of all the tribute guitars......
by Graunke on Fri Mar 19, 2010 3:35 am
I'm looking for a good import tribute guitar. Of all the models that are out there, stealths, washy's, various ML"s, which one plays the best?
I have a spot on my wall, for a Dime guitar. It won't get played much, but it will get played.
I was thinking the DFH import thing, because they are cheap and available, but then thought maybe a stealth w/ a floyd. But then I fell in love with the Washy Cross. Way to expensive for a wall hanger, but I bet it's the nicest one.
Opinions if you own one? I don't want to hear about the one you saw or played at Guitar Center.
got to watch this video

i miss all u guys at .net hows everyone doing? all the message boards are closed.
I was thinkin about it and im curious as to how old the original guitar is. Anyone know? Perhaps what year it was made?
Saw this and couldnt say no..
I was at the 4th Ave Street Fair today, walking around, eating food, looking for cool art stuff for my new house, and I came across this booth of things done with awesome spray painting skills...
It looks much better in brighter lighting. If anyone has the original picture in an HQ format, please let me know!
I'm driving into work tonight listening to Far Beyond Driven. Which I haven't listen to in quiet awhile. Holy hell, I forgot how good this song is(subject line). It's so heavy and the solo is classic Dimebag. No matter how long I go without listening to Pantera, songs like this one reminds me how great they were. GOLDARN' I miss Pantera and I miss Dimebag even more. If you haven't listen to it lately, you need to. Getcha Pull!!
Anybody here who can get a hold of Zakk Wylde?
This is a bit of a long story, so bear with me...
In 2004, my band Sittin' Idol had the opportunity to open for Damageplan and Drowning Pool in Calgary, which was an awesome gig for us being huge Dime and Vinnie fans. The show itself was great, and afterwards we were able to meet and party some with Dime, Vinnie, Bobzilla and Pat Lachman. They were all great guys and treated us awesome.
Anyways, I had a 71 Les Paul Recording guitar, a bit of a rare model. After our gig, Damageplan's sound guy Wirez came up to us and said Dime wanted to buy my guitar off me. Well I didn't want to sell it, I loved that thing. Dime was feeding me shots and Black Tooth Grins and trying to convince me to sell the guitar.
Finally I said that if they took us on tour, he could have the guitar. Dime said that he wanted to give the guitar to Zakk Wylde for Christmas that year, since Zakk collected rare Gibsons. After a bit of wrangling with the tour manager and venues, we worked out the deal: We would go on the tour, and at the last show Dime would get the guitar.
Well we had to lie our way across the border to get into the states, (bands need special permits to cross the border) and the tour was awesome, great crowds and the band and crew were cool to us at every turn. It was like a family in that camp, really an awesome atmosphere.
After the last show in Texas (Lubbock) I gave Dime my guitar in Damageplan's trailer. Afterwards, we hung out and partied with the band and Dime and Bobzilla spraypainted our band van with hotrod flames and all signed it.
Here's the video of me giving Dime the guitar:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7w0EKbSvbCo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7w0EKbSvbCo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Anyways, Dime said he felt bad about taking the guitar but said that he was gonna hook me up with a Dimebag guitar. Vinnie also helped our drummer out with a bunch of new cymbals. So needless to say we were pumped and drove home to Calgary, 28 hours straight taking shifts.
Well we all know what happened in December of that year, it was a brutal tragedy and the music world will miss Dime forever.
I never wound up getting the Dime guitar, in light of what happened I never tried to get a hold of Vinnie and the guys to pursue it; it would have been awesome don't get me wrong, but it doesn't really matter. Eventually I quit waiting and went out and bought another guitar.
But I have always wondered if Zakk ever wound up getting that guitar. I thought he might like to know this story anyhow. It's amazing what a warm heart Dime had, that he'd see something and just think, I'm gonna get that for my friend Zakk.
Anyways, just hoping somebody can get this through to Zakk and maybe let me know if he got the Les Paul Recording from Dime...my name is Rick Hatch and I can be reached at info@sittinidol.com
Dime & Disc Golf!
by rridner on Wed Mar 24, 2010 2:12 pm
does any1 here get down & play disc golf?! a buddy of mine and I have decided to try our hand @ making "custom" discs. we are gonna try to make a few Dime/Pantera ones. maybe something w/ a CFH logo on it or a Dime silhouette. we have not 100% decided what designs we are gonna do. should be able to get a couple protos made up shortly. so now, I pose the question - does anyone here play disc golf? if so, would you be interested in a Dime/Pantera designed disc? just trying to gauge interest. thanks!

Bill Lawrence USA vs. OBL (Bill & Becky) pickups
by DDDabic on Wed Mar 24, 2010 3:29 pm
Which of those Dime actually used?
i think that majority of his pickups did came from Bill Lawrence USA,which original Dean from hell confirms:
but on some pictures we can see OBL (Bill & Becky) pickup:
but on this last picture the pickup might came from Lawrence Sound Research.
i believe majority of people here know the difference, but if you need the info on this pickups go here:
http://www.billlawrencereview.com
i think the photos and pictures of Dime's personal guitars might help to determine this question(i've already started that topic),and i thik it will be cool to see as many of his personal guitars we can.
Possibly unseen dime and pantera photos
Hey guys I found a bunch of pantera pics on this site but you need an account for them. I've seen lots of these before but quite a bit of them I've never seen. If someone happens to have an account it would be sweet to see some of them. Ya I know there's a hundred dime pictures threads but I don't think these have been posted.
