So when i bought my HT it came with a xp block booster which i cast to one side as the guy mention to be broken and it sounds it too as something is ratterling about in there all. I almost threw it away today as it was in the carboard box the amp came in.
Anyway i though i'd try it out to make sure, after scratching my head trying to work out if i had connected it right i turned it on and was getting my normal signal which was fine i switched the gain boost on and there was a definate change, not huge but a change. I can only describe it as a BBE sonic maximiser effect, like the lifting the blanket off your amp.
That was on the gain channel the clean channel takes the biggest hit and sound pretty lush there was as grainy pansy weak ass sound thats now gone and plays more like a marshall clean sound.
I tried the other switch which is a HI boost which i am guessing is the volume boost but thats whats broken on mine. kinda lucked out as i don't need that so much.
What i am stuck with is that the instructions say it works best at 4 ohm but i can't remember that stuff it always goes over my head.
I am tempted to crack it open and take a look inside to see whats making it work but the thing is cased with these rounded industrial split pin type joins.
Anyway if you see one on the bay buy it or let me know lol i could use a fully working one. This thing is pretty neat its not a huge difference but its helped me alot for my set up needs.
Ps if anyone can get the schematics off randall or knows if they make them still they should take advantage of that and get em.
