I guess ragging on Bill and Becky for not answering the phone was either:
a) premature or
b) a signal to their collective subconscious to answer the phones yesterday (just what the doctor ordered)
Either way, I got an order in for a pair of chrome cased L600s in 4.8 and 3.6 Henries. I figure that would be 'L' and 'R'. They say 3 weeks, so I figure maybe a month, but pics and crappy cellphone clips to come.

Yeah, they do black, white, cream, and maroon. They do chrome, too, but for some reason it's not listed. Honestly, I expect them to sound like Lawrences. I've got a set of L350s and they've got a more PAFish flavor than, say, L500s, but they still have the flat eq and single coil-ish high end they're all known for. |

I'm thinking maybe my 81 Flame Z. It's already got a Wilde L500XL and it might make a good baseline to compare. I wasn't a huge fan of Lawrences when I was playing my old Cobra the most, but now that I've gotten heavy back into my Metaltronix with it's mid shaping capabilities, I like them a LOT.

Ever met her? She's actually a pretty good looking woman. I'd give Bill a high five but it might be inappropriate. Instead, I'll just say it on the internet. |

1. Good for you. I've heard good things about them, and would love a personal review from you.
2. Becky was really nice to me on the phone too. She was so sweet, and then would bust out with an almost Albert Einstein thought process on pickups. I thought I knew about pickups, I was struggling to keep up with her. |

Nope! We're in for an overhaul...for quite some time. I should never go to sea again. |

I see more in my future. They are hums so they're thicker than sc, but they still have a decidedly Lawrence-y sc flavor to them. The mids are more prominent than the L500 and the bass is a bit less boomy and they're less powerful. More balanced, overall.
All this is from my brief post-installation testing last night with the fam asleep and the M1000 at whisper volume. |

Yessir! Funny-that's pretty much exactly what I said to Ian in the pic (his old guitar)-that it is all I need to rock. |

Brandon, you really like these pups more then Super Distortions or PAF's? I ask because I have been hesitant to buy any Lawrence pups. Never could quite bond with those that I have had in the past |

They're more versatile than Super Ds and what's a PAF, anyway? There's so much variation between offerings it's hard to pin down anything other than low output and dynamic...and these are that. |
