I am envious, congrats !
That should compliment the Deceiver well !
I would like to hear it straight in the amp with the gain up and volume not pegged, please. (bridge pup of course) when you can get around to it. |

I've only had a chance to use one once very briefly and really enjoyed it. The guy had a dual terror as well and I liked it too. I already have the Orange 2x12 Cab so maybe I should join the bandwagon. How is the gain after 12 o'clock on it? |

I've got the combo. It fits my tone completely. It's the best thing i've ever heard. It's not a very "focused" amp, if that's what you're looking for. I could see it beeing a bit muddy for some. But it's an Orange, you kind of know what sound you're getting. |

I almost bought one these a few months ago when I was amp shopping. All the clips I've heard of these sound killer. Congrats! |

Thank you for all the comments fellas. This is an awesome amp, I'm totally stoked.
I've been rocking it all day after I put some new strings and cleaned up my Deceiver. I must admit, I am finding it hard to adjust to not having EQ on this amp but I am sure I will be able to dial it in better (with the Shape control) once I've used it more. I'm not going to have enough time this weekend to snap some shots and I want to write a review once I've had more time to spend with it. I can't wait to hook up my MXR Chorus and a Wah pedal, too. |

I found I liked the tone the best with the shape between 2 and 3 o'clock on the dial. The only reason I got rid of mine was when cranked up to band levels (which it does with ease) there was too much power amp distortion making the tone too loose for my liking. But, otherwise it's a great amp. |

Thanks Lanning, I will try this out. I found it a little to scooped after about 1 o'clock on the Shape for my tastes, but maybe it's because I'm not too familiar with these EMG's and how they respond yet.
I will probably will get an MXR 6 Band EQ to use with this amp. Do I need it? Maybe not. But it would be nice to pic and choose which frequencies sound the best to me and boost them accordingly.
I intend to take some pictures over this weekend and I will write a review soon. |

I have found that it punches with most definition at about 1 o'clock (depending on placement of Shape control). It gets muddy after 3 o'clock. It has so much gain it is ridiculous. |

Congratulations!
These have been on my GAS list since 1980!
It's not looking likely that I'll ever have one...... but you never know.
Congrats, once again. I'm very excited for you! |

If you've listened to ZZ Top's first few albums, you've probably heard one. |
