I get what ya mean, but then again an ML is pointy enough for me!
In saying that, ive seen uglier Washburn USA stealth's that alot of people would sell their soul for, so to each their own.
Im glad Dean are sticking to this DCR business, and touching back on the stealth should prove popular!! |

Shorty. |
I recall a conversation at Shorty's Bar about that very topic. I expect I'll sell my Washburn Stealth in favor for a Short Guitars Hardtail Stealth after you've had your "investigative research" with mine. |

I'd like it more if the black was a mahoogani natural colour. |

Anybody know where these are made? I'd hit myself in the junk with a hammer before I spent $1100 on a guitar with "Indonesia" on the back of the headstock. |

In looking at other DCR runs on eBay, they don't list the country of origin on the back of the headstock. |

And what makes you the expert on Indonesian built guitars?
I'd sell both my USA's before my Indonesian FM Dime guitars.., they are that good.
The FM's have Floyd's, so i'd keep those.., otherwise the build quality is the same.

I agree. BUT, you are comparing Washburn Asian with Dean Asian...I have played just about every Washburn Dime3 made but I don't think I have played a Dean Indo. would like to just to compare.
But yeah u are right on one thing the BSGIndonesian & Washy ST-PRO are Amazing Imports! But I really wanna know if these New guitars have some of the same quality as the others..I would like to play one though for kicks |

This is the first custom run I've seen in a while that I might actually have to splurge on. There are some things I'd change on it, but you can't appeal to each individual. Cool enough to own though. |

I would never drop $1100 on an import. I remember all the quality issues on the other stealth's I hope they do a better job on these. |

well to be honest, that top doesnt look any different from my boogie cross's. they had veneer tops anyway. i dont think it looks bad at all. seeing as how this seems to be one of those photoshop promo pictures i wouldnt just the top until you see a real one. |

I never said there was anything wrong with an Indonesian made guitar, I've owned several and been very happen with them. However, FOR ME, there is no justifying a price tag that high on a guitar from Indonesia (or just about any other Asian country for that matter, save Japan). $1100 goes a long way in a used USA guitar. |

So..., no need to spend $1100 on it then.
Wait til they are delivered..., they will either be gobbled up fast and then become elusive like the boogie street crosses OR you'll see them in the trader post and blown out on ebay real cheap.
If those 35th anniversary V's had Floyds..., I'd be all over them as they are otherwise to MY specs. Ebony, V shaped necks, Dimarzio SD's..., I saw one on ebay new for $450 this week |

My DCR VMNT Floyd was made in Korea. Dennis has/had a DCR Razorback - wanna chime in on the country of origin? Someone here also has the DCR Zero...hit us with the country on that too please |

By the time they get to the uk the price of these DCR guitars are pushing towards $2000....
That's fender american deluxe money or for a couple hundred more a les paul standard. Thats new too. |

Ibanez Premiums are ridiculously amazing and made in Indo... Totally worth the grand asking price. Indonesia can make a guitar rivalling any USA made guitar. It's not the craftsman there that make a lesser instrument. It's the American company requesting less than high end specs that made the guitar lesser quality, making a limited numer and then asking a premium price to rake in money. I have played American made guitars costing thousands of dollars that were complete junk. Ibanez have strict controls on their Indo made guitars in a specially designed factory with J Craft inspectors on site. The guitars they turn out are worth 2X what they are asking for them. If Dean asked for higher quality on their DCR guitars they can be amazing. I don't want to speculate that these specific guitars will be great or not but until someone has one in hand and can give a non-biased review we'll not know. I'll be looking to put one in my hands in January to see the truth. |

I'd rather spend less money on a used ibanez prestige than buy a new premium(and thats what i've done). |

I have a DCR Zero, made in Korea. Guitar is really well made and set up, but the veneer could have been matched a little better. I'd advise waiting until the guitar comes out and buying it on ebay from a dealer after you can see actual pics. You can sometimes get one with a minor finish blem and gorgeous top for a steal. |

LOL at you fickle fu(&ers.
This is the EXACT SAME Korean Stealth as the 100 LTD versions from a few years ago with an added flametop. Same Korean guitar, same CNC program just brought out of mothballs. You guys bitched and whined about those and now you're in love with this one ? |

Nah im not digging it. If they removed the black edges, have the whole thing flame topped and have an interesting colour such as Green, or Orange, THEN I would be wetting myself and crying for my bank balance.
EDIT: The full trans-black one looks a lot better, hope its a little darker in real life though. |

well to be honest, that top doesnt look any different from my boogie cross's. they had veneer tops anyway. i dont think it looks bad at all. seeing as how this seems to be one of those photoshop promo pictures i wouldnt just the top until you see a real one. |
It does look like the BOOG CROSS, thinking that myself cuz I had one as well..Now if it PLAYS like the "BOOG", Well then that would be the SHIZZZZZZZZNET! |

So what you're saying is, if it was a different guitar you'd want it?
Just messing with you but I love those posts. "I would want (or) buy it if" and then it's a whole mess of changes that makes it a different guitar. You see it with almost every guitar post. It just makes me laugh |

If it had a Strat body, H/S/H pickup configuration and a scalloped fingerboard I'd be all over it |

If it had a superstrat body, silver finish, black bindings, duncan distortion in the bridge, hipshot bridge and 1 additional string, i'd be all over it! |

I own the dcr#3 black chrome. I love it, zero complaints, other than a few minor finish flaws. It does not state where it was built though. |

When are they gonna stop putting that stupid razor blade inlay on every other guitar? |

I actually like the razor blade, now the stupid diamonds could definately go. If that board only had the single razorblade inlay, I would love it. |

I agree. I have weak spot for fretboards without inlays. |

I actually like the natural look over the trans black or whatever it's called.
I think it'd sell more with 24 frets, but that's just me. |

The Stealth dislike is all from this weird perfect storm of issues. People were miffed that the headstock of the release didn't look like the Washburn version. Then people got miffed that the release version had no Two-Tone with Floyd option. So they clamored and clamored for a Limited Run. When it finally went through and got approved, there was a huge amount of people dropping their orders after seeing the price/realizing they were just supporting something they never had the intention of paying for. Nail in the coffin was the QA issues the run had (which all imports were having at the time), and it just left a sour taste with a lot of people. |

Hit the nail on the head. I am still a firm believer in a restored faith in the Stealth as a USA 1000 series. Give the Stealth what it deserves. |

My RG1XXV (premium) is an Indonesian made guitar, and it is amazing. Truly one of the best playing guitars I've owned, with a ridiculous amount of attention to detail.
And I got that thing on a blowout, brand new for $600. |
