Hi,i am currently restoring a Dean Evo guitar and need to replace one of the pots,my problem is im not sure which is the correct one to use any advice would be much appreciated and i thank you in anticipation of a reply

You mean you are not sure which one is broken? If so:
1.set every pot at zero
2.increase one at a time and chceck with multimeter/voltage meter
if it passes voltage to the next pot.
Potentiometer increases the current resistance so if you set them at 0, the resistance is high enough to stop the current.
