I never post new gear days anymore but i thought some of you guys might like this one, im a huge zakk fan and i got my first bullsye back in 2001. so this is a special guitar for me.
gibson custom shop aged zakk bullseye #18 of 50.
the guy bought this from never opened the box until i bought it, so its mint and as new as you can get for a guitar that was built in 2004 i believe, so it just sat in a sealed box from gibson waiting to be loved and played. ive only owned it for a couple days but i cant put it down, it sounds and plays better than my custom shop camo and bullsye i got in 2001. im so happy i bought it . the pictures dont really show the dings, dents, scratches, chips, rust, and weather checking. i need to take some better pics to do it justice.
im sure theres alot of guys that wont like it because of the fact that its relic/aged and that they could do that themselves but i owned a bullseye for 11 years and played it all the time and never even got close to how this looks.

thanks, i think the necks are great, its not as think as my R7 neck which i consider a bat, its thicker than 60S LP or esp eclipse neck, i consider it medium thickness but to some it could be a bat if they are used to really thin necks, overall it has a nice feel and isnt hard to get used to.

Nice grab! I'm watching Ozzy, Geezer, and Zakk play Paranoid right this second from way back. Mr. ZW was very close to his Pride n Glory Days then which is my favorite. His tone live then was and is unreal. |

I had a chance to score one of these three christmas's ago for 1200 bucks. It's the biggest gear regret that I will ever have not buying it. If it were today, I wouldn't even think twice about pulling the trigger. Good score, and I must say your collection is pretty darned nice. |

AMAZING! But you knew I would say that. It should go without saying that if for any reason you fall on times where it has to go that I will take it off your hands so you know where it is and that it's safe. PM me if that should ever happen bro... Enjoy, she's beautiful. |

Do the relic'd ones come with a finished neck or not? I know my ZW custom's neck is finished (Clear coat but still finished). I know even Zakk's come that way and he has his tech remove the finish. I haven't removed mine yet, but will get around to it soon. Again, if you didn't read my above post, just remember me in the event that situation arises. |

Interesting, I have never played one new, I thought they came just oiled. The person who had the one I played must have removed the finish then, because it felt like my gun stock oiled Charvels.
I wanted to pull the trigger, but the price tag and the condition did not match up. It was on consigment in a store. I made an offer and they said they would check with the guy and I never heard back from them... |

Its the same finish as the early zakk customs, this is built in 2004 i think and my camo is also 2004 and my old bullseye was 2001 and they all feel the same and the finish is thin and gets a polished look after a while. Gibson calls it a oiled finish but if also seems to have some type of sealant. But i played a new 2007 and 2012 and it seemed like it had a thicker finish and wasnt the same as the old ones.
And yes i will remeber you if i ever had to sell this guitar, but hopefully that will never happen. Once i find a guitar i really love it becomes a keeper. I been playing my camo since 2004 and i had my 2001 bullseye until a month ago. |

Yeah the older ones sound like mine... Here is a pic of the finish how it is on mine
You can see it has a shiny "glaze" kinda finish on it. It doesn't feel like the Charvel necks but more like a thin oil. You can't feel the wood grain though. I asked Zakk about one of his guitars he posted a photo of and he said he has his tech sand them and then oil them so I assumed his come the same way. Yours looks more worn to the wood though. I love that. I want to have mine done like that. |

yea thats how the old necks looked, i will show you a pic of a 2012 and you can see its a little different finish, almost like a satin finish on the newer guitars. |

I wish they were satin on the old ones too. I have a local guy that can remove that finish and oil the neck for me though and it should turn out nice. Is it odd that mine is flamed like that? I haven't seen any like that. I know you have had a few ZW guitars. |

ive seen a couple with some flame but not as much as yours, i think it looks cool with the flame. i love the oiled neck and was bummed when i played the newer one with the satin finish, heres a couple pics i took for you to compare.
yeah man i owned a few zakk guitars, 3 bullseyes, the V , and a camo.
the guitar on the left is my relic and the guitar on the right is a new 2012 that im selling on ebay. maybe after a year or 2 of heavy playing the neck on the 2012 will get shiny and feel different, but its still a different finish than what my camo and 2001 bullseye had when brand new.
heres a pic of my relic at the bottom, the 2012 in the middle and 2004 camo at the top.

You guys are killing me. I'm not a Zakk fanboi, nor do I particularly like the bull's eye, but DAMN to have a white Custom with a maple neck, again... |

Yeah, mine is exactly like the one on the left. I don't think it's a bad thing I just would like a little more of a satin feel. I don't feel as if I'm getting hung up while playing or anything it's just a feel thing. When Zakk signed mine a few weeks back he looked at it turned it over, looked at the back and said... "Hey what number is this? Oh number 78..." Kinda like it was different than what he expected. |

Did you notice any difference between the Ebony boards of the ones you've had and the Richlite on the 2012? |

Yeah theres a slight difference, i noticed the richlite guitar to be a little brighter , part of that might be the richlite but im also thinking its also guitar itself because its about 1 pound lighter than my other zakks.
The richlite guitar sounds good and the fretboard feels almost the same. |

Why don't you just put that relic in the box right now and you'll have it sold tonight....
I just realized, after 2 years of straight hating on my ZV it's getting really worn in lol... \m/ \m/ I've even noticed some nitro creep and fret pop... (not all the way through but the dark lines) I swear Gibson guitars play better worn in. My buckle rash hasn't worn through the nitro yet though but it's coming. |

Awesome, I really wish they would do one of these though...
I know I could just get a Les Paul refinished, but I actually want one with a maple neck. |

i like the red bullseye, instead of making the shitty looking coffin guitars zakk should try and get gibson to make the mylar or copper bullsyes, and maybe a tom murphy aged rebel, or even the BLS logo lp. |

| Nice grab! I'm watching Ozzy, Geezer, and Zakk play Paranoid right this second from way back. Mr. ZW was very close to his Pride n Glory Days then which is my favorite. His tone live then was and is unreal. |
I agree, I never get tired of hearing Pride n Glory. |

I associate the Red Bull with Zakk more than the Grail because that is the first guitar I remember him playing.
Yeah, I agree. Love the Mylar and Copper too.
The Rebel though, I would like without the bottle caps
Just came across a lot of cool stuff here:

Maybe some of you have seen it, but I don't have Twitter.
Cool fun facts too, like the Rebel had a Mahogany neck, pics of pedal boards and guitars, a custom EMG set, having a Jimmy Page Dragon Tele done and Vida Guerra amongst other cool stuff.
