I will probably be putting one of those top mounted jobs on a 79 series ml. If i can get my hands one one, I will definately keep everyone here informed on how well it works.

This

There will be less people complaining about having to route 'half of their' guitar out now. D*mn, not that I would put one on a current guitar, but this will have me day dreaming about cool idea's for a while... like putting one on an Epiphone doubleneck... Razz

That top-mount is looking very tempting. Will be interesting to see how much they go for.

I'm curious about the bridge/fingerboard radius. Most floyded guitars have a 14" or 16" radius fingerboard and the majority of tune-o-matic style guitars have a 12" radius. Obviously they have already thought of this, but I wonder how adjustable it will be and how different it will feel from a regular Floyd.

The other question is neck angle, but I'm sure this thing must be fairly height adjustable.

He already had a cooler looking top mount Floyd that never went anywhere. I don't even think he marketed it.

The thing that really appeals to me about that flatmount is that they've come up with some kind of lock nut that doesn't require mounting. Even with the old ones, rout the body or not, you still had to cut the nut.

Color me...interested.

As I read it the locking nut replaces the stock TRC and nut so you'd still have to pop the old nut out. Not a hard task to do but I always feel odd about Gibson nuts because of how they are mounted in the neck. It looks as if you'd damage some of the finish. (Depending on the model of course)

I'm curious to see whether the top mount one has any issues with carved top guitars or not. Mainly, I want to see whether there would be a problem putting one on Cadzilla Twisted Evil
