Now, I've owned many floyds over the years but have never thought to combine a regular guitar with locking tuners and a TUSQ nut with a floyd. Do you guys think the locking tuners work as well as a floyd nut? |

They may work decently enough, but not as good as the locking nut I'd think. |

There is a video on YouTube about this when Gibson released their floyded explorer and v that did not have locking nuts. Any guitar that has an angled headstock will flex when you pull up on the bar.
I found the video of the Kahler explorer

Suhr does this... Well they offer you a choice. The guitar will have a locking nut and locking tuners so you dont have to use the locking nut blocks if you don't want. |

Depending on the HS angle + string angle between the nut and tuners...,
the strings could move and / or bind.
Locking nut would be best IMHO. |

Thanks for the replies guys. I always feared the headstock getting all weird with that sort of set up...
I'm considering my next guitar ahead of time and I was thinking about getting a stop tail BC Rich Mockingbird and throwing a Kahler on there (completely floydless these days). |
