What the hell do you call the metal part that they put on top of string thru guitars that the strings travel through? I always called them tail pieces. Yet when hunting on line I barely find anything, and if I do its just the V shaped one that gibson epiphone dean and everyone ever uses.
No my real question is, what are they actually called and does any company make custom ones? because I want to do some string thru conversions on some of my guitars, but don't want ferrels or the V shaped plate.
All help would be appreciated |

On the LP guitar above, its a stopbar tailpiece.
Ferrules go on the back. |

I wish I wasn't on mobile so I could post a picture. Look at the ml. Behind the bridge is a v shaped plate. I don't know the proper name and want custom ones because I dont really like the v shape. |

For the life of me I haven't been able to pull these up like you guys lol. So then do the come in other shapes? I would like anything other than the usual. But if my future is the v plate so be it |

I don't think they make other shapes. you can't even get a replacement except through a dealer |

How about a hardtail trem and just take the saddles off it and use it as a tailpiece?

If you know someone that works at a machine shop just measure the hole spacing and have them make you something custom. |
