Hey Dean'ers. Today's Stupid Deal on Musicians Friend is the Akai Custom Shop Analog Delay for $29. This is a $149 pedal, and sounds really great for $29. The story with this pedal is that it is really a re-branded Biyang Analog Delay, which normally is available on ebay for around $50 to $70, so Akai took a bit of heat for simply changing the label and trippling the price. So their stupidity works to our benefit, and MF is blowing these puppies out for $29 today. I bought one. If you are looking for a decent analog delay for cheap, you cant beat this one. There is a good video demo of this pedal on the toob as well.

Damn, those sold out fast...
I had one in my cart and was shopping around at some other items, and when I went to check out it was gone and said it was removed because it was out of stock and no longer available... |

A true bypass analog delay for $29
I'd dime all the knobs and run it up front just for swirling feedback blasts..., that would save me a few trips to my rack |

I went to buy the chorus, the phone rang, and now its a fuzz. D'oh. I build my own killer fuzz pedals, so i will have to wait and see what pops up next. |

Thanks for the tip. Missed out on the delay and the chorus, but got the fuzz.

At the end of it all, my Delay came in DOA. Dead. No delay of any kind. So I had to send it back, and since it was sold out, I couldnt get a replacement unit. Damn. Bummer. But I'd rather it be dead now than out on the road with the band. D'oh! |

I thought mine was DOA as well, Brad... I plugged it in and it worked! The battery that it came with was old as dirt plus a crappy brand (as they all generally are).
Thanks for the heads-up on the buy |

I had no problems with mine. I assumed it had no battery and daisy chained it. Hate to fart in your soup bowl but its amazing on levels I cant describe. Get it back and try to have it fixed if its not a battery issue. |

yeah, I wish i would've bought the delay and the flanger and maybe even the fuzz. For $30 I can't make 'em any better.
I am using the battery it came with. |

Tried it with a known good battery and an external power. No worries I have lots of pedals. |
