Need your Help! Ebay Resolution Center

Hello my Deaniacs!

I am not sure how many of you follow my thread regarding the 1984 Baby ML Body I won on Ebay back in November for $66.00 plus shipping. It was a Resto Piece for sure and actually may have ended up as just Cool Wall Art but I wanted it! Well, it is over a Month and no Guitar! The Seller likely shipped it by Bulk Mail (If he shipped it) and there is No Tracking. He has offered to reimburse me the Shipping which was roughly $34.00. I am not experienced with this, the last shipment that did not arrive for me the Seller Refunded 100% no questions asked. I was thinking of splitting it 50/50 with the Seller, if I go to Ebay Resolution what can I expect? Am I selling myself short at 50%???

Just file an item not received claim Chris. You should not have to split anything with the seller. It's his responsibility to provide tracking as per eBay and PayPal rules

If you decide to split they will consider it resolved if you try and say something later. If you file, they will reimburse you 100% and go after the seller by locking down his PP account until he resolves with them. You don't owe that dude anything so go get your money back!

Chris,

If you file a dispute, and the seller can't provide proof of shipment AND delivery, ebay will side with you and reimburse you fully.

I don't believe the seller has to provide tracking though. After 150 guitars shipped I've started using USPS Parcel Post because its FAR cheaper, but there's no tracking.

You do to be protected from the buyers. USPS provides tracking numbers but they're not always traceable... However, as long as you provide it you're protected.

Every time somone ships me a guitar via USPS i get a tracking number and it is trackable on the USPS website. Its not the most real time tracking, but neither is fedex. So something is up with you guys if you cant get tracking from USPS.

Chris, go to ebay and get all of your money back. The seller sounds like a total douche to me.

Thanks Guys! Even proof of shipping would be nice and that I have asked for. I also opened a case with the Ebay Resolution Center so we shall see.

You should be good man, just remember when you buy a Guitar from eBay & especially if you are gonna spend Tons of money, make sure the person has the BUYERS PROTECTION PLAN!!! That is a MUST! I bought a guitar from a Very well known idiot in Mexico & that right there was a Red Flag just where it was coming from, I took the chance cuz he had previous sells & alright feedback & all checked out pretty good! Long story short , the A-HOLE screwed me Evil or Very Mad

, & let's just say I spent a LOT of money , I mean you could drive a Nice car for what I paid for it, as it was the most expensive guitar I paid for & will ever pay for!!! I had to call to Indonesia to the eBay support center & they said as long as he had the Buyers Pro Plan, then it might take a bit of time , buy I was covered !!! Very Happy

I was SO DAMN HAPPY!!! As long as I was getting it back , then I could wait..eBay has cleaned up a LOT in the past years & if people just take time out to read their contracts, directions etc., then they might find some peace of mind & not be so worried Wink

...People tell me all the time , "Hey man, eBay sucks you can still get ripped off, & one last time for 3rd time that is B.S. , just as long as they has the Pritection Plan...And this came from a Agent who worked eBay ..Buy funny enough , the Jerk sold the guitar & after MANY , MANY threats from me to his email saying , well let's just say BAD things Laughing

, somehow this jerk sent my money back Shocked

, with a reply saying he did a "back-door" deal asking for more money, after I won the auction Rolling Eyes

...Oh well , found a better & same guitar in better shape ...but moral to the story , just look for Protection & check their Feedbacks & the more sales they have the better!!! Good luck!
