Ok so here's the story. Im completing a custom job for a friend of mine, and its got an APH1humbucker in the neck, a GFS true coil in the middle, and a JB inthe bridge (humbucker as well). They all have 4 conductor wiring, and the guitar is using 1 vol, 1 tone and a 5 way.Only the cavity is shielded and I followed this diagram: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=1h_1s_1h_1v_1t_5w

On the SD's I have the red and white soldered together and taped, and the green and bare soldered together running to the grounds. The GFS pup I have the red and white soldered and taped with the black running to ground and green runninghot. The only thing Im doing different is that I have the bridge ground on the back of the tone pot. The bridge and the switch position just before it both are working... Please help.

without seeing a picture I would suggest double checking that the volume and tone pots are the same.... ie that the signal is in the same place on all of them... I have wired things up perfectly before only to finally and painfully figure out that the signal lead from the pots were different....

also sometimes they are backward from the photo in real life.

I was going to try to take a picture but its a tight cavity and I can't get a good picture.

It is difficult to diagnose without a photo, but make sure your ground is all the way through. You can do this by making sure you connect a ground wire between the two pots, and then to the ground wire that hits the bridge. Make sure your solder joints are solid and that you didnt cold solder anything. It is tough to solder the back of a pot, unless you have a really hot iron. It also could be a faulty switch, but I doubt it. Need to submit photos. Take them in a well lit room with the flash off. Should be able to get a good shot of the mess, and we can help you fix it.

P.S.... GFS uses standard SD wiring colors. So you should be good there.

It is really hard to tell what you have going on there. Your wiring and your soldering is a mess. You definately need some soldering practice. And the photos are very unclear, so it is hard to tell what is what, and what you have each pickup routed to. but this is the wiring diagram for your setup. If it were me, i would pull it all apart, clean up the solder, and try to do it properly. Especially the switch and the grounds to the back of the pots. take a look at the diagram and make sure your switch is wired correctly.

That's the exact diagram I used, minus accounting for the trem claw ground and the face that my switch no matter which way you put it in, is not exactly like the diagram. The lugs are end on the right before they end on the left.

Of course, if anyone thinks I may need a simpler wiring diagram/ can create one to include the bridge wire I'd be more than appreciative.

I read your post a couple times, and I think I may be missing something, but what is the exact problem you are having? Are you getting any sound? Are you getting buzz? Is it intermintant? Are some pickups working, and other's not? Are the pots working? Does it cut in and out when you move the jack? What is the exact problem you are having?

One thing that comes to mind is this. Shouldn't the GFS be the same wiring as Seymour Duncan. Shouldn't the black go to hot, and the green and wire go to ground?

Ok, in order here we go:
Problem: Only the rear and second to last position on the switch seem to be functioning (as in getting sound). As far as I'm aware all the electronics are working because they're all brandnew. I'm going to check all the other symptoms you asked in a moment as I can't remember.
-GFS uses the same wiring except they switch the black and green. Green = + on their wiring schematics.

AH! I forgot to mention. I think the middle coil is actually a humbucker! Why else would it have 4 conductors!?

I tried several methods with the same results... I think it's the switch... Feel free to add feedback and I'll post my responses and results accordingly. In a few hours, I will have my switch.

I have to agree with Brad, in that, you should check the switch first. That would seem to make the most sense.

Oh, and the GFS True Coil is technically a humbucker, but it has a dummy coil to humcancel. That's why it still sounds like a single coil.
