Hey guys, I was wondering if an original floyd rose will fit in this guitar ???? I am replacing the "Licensed" Floyd rose on my DEAN FBD with an Original Floyd Rose tremolo. Is there a certain size that I need??? I know that the nut is R3 |

I believe you need to plug the old post holes and drill new ones as its just a little different in size.
I could be wrong tho,

they are off just a bit. I have seen some people force a floyd on it. It just doesnt sit exactly right.
I have a few guitars with original floyds and one with a black floyd like the one in your pic. the dean floyd is good and really not worth it to waste the money to change out. the dean one works just fine. Lots better than some of the fake floyds out there. |

This....the stock trems on the DOF, FBD, & CFH are fine. I had a 79 series MLF and the stock trems on them are just terrible. Swapped in an OFR on that guitar and it fit but it was shifted off to the treble side just a hair. Never effected playability and I never had an issue with the high E sliding off the side of the fretboard so it will fit. IMO I think if you want to upgrade anything pull the stock posts and glue in a set of OFR posts because they have a fine thread pattern and it helps stabilize the bridge. Stock posts have a course thread pattern and there is some play. Hope that helps... |
