Megadeth has been posting video updates of their new album on their fan club site. It seems a little different hes using a slide for leads and I can hear a banjo in one of the new songs.

I loved Endgame, but Thirteen sucked. Slide leads in thrash metal? Confused This should be interesting.

The more genres you listen to, the better your music and playing becomes.

And some of those country players are a great guitar players. If you look at Zakk Wyldes style he gets alot of his influence from country like his chicken picken for example.

I like various sounds of music, but I hate when bands do this. Risk should have been an eye opener for Dave. When I buy a Megadeth album, I want my head to spin from all of the thrash going on. Lets say I was into Ferraris, and I had the money to splurge on one and went to the dealership and all there were were smart cars in the lot. I would not be pleased with Ferrari. Some bands opened up to a lot of variety from the beginning so they can get away with it. Like Ford per say with their whole lineup of vehicles. Megadeth did one thing good for so long now people expect that and that only and I'm one of those people. If I want a different flavor or music I listen to a different band. But just because there is some slide guitar, that doesn't mean it's not heavy. So I'll keep an open mind here til I listen to it first hand I guess.

Metallica has caught never ending flak for changing their direction, Megadeth is applauded though? Seems like a double standard. Personally, I liked Death Magnetic so perhaps I will like the new Megadeth, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now

I will say the Lou Reed/Metallica material is garbage to my ears, others may dig it and that's ok

A seriously great metal guitarist, Virus from Dope(former Dean artist, remember the guy with the crazy mohawk?) is now the lead guitarist for Big & Rich !

Even country bands know that metal guys can play.

Risk has about 50% good songs but other than that it was not the best.
