last december this one dude wanted me to falconize his les paul. he had taken it to someone else to do it but they messed it up pretty bad. so it was my job to fix the other guy's work and make it look like a white penguin. the base guitar is a les paul studio. i basically sparkled in "binding" and sprayed some parts in gold. we ended up calling it the Les Falcon. it came out nice but its not my favorite guitar ive done....
i also had a strat that i wanted to do a race car theme on. the best paintjob i could think of is the Gulf gt40 and it just worked with this guitar. the neck is a fender b stock neck from 1989. the body is a fender (mim?) and the electronics used to be on a 79 strat but im pretty sure they arent original. and the pickguard is a new mint colored one that still has the protective plastic film on it. overall this is a simple paintjob but it is cool!
so then i had an extra strat body around and a ton of sparkle left over from the les falcon. its my first attempt at sparkle and i did it the hard way with a brush. i figured though next time im just gonna use my sandblasting gun on low to spray the sparkle on the body. its going on ebay soon cause i got no need for it.
and last but not least i picked up a squier strat for $30 at a swap meet and decided to let my artistic little sister go to town on it. all i did was spray the white and then after she did the artwork i clear coated it...in lacquer. she was going for a psychedelic look and it came out awesome. i also reliced it a little bit to give it a vintage-ish vibe...kinda like of some hippy kid in the 60's did this.
i also have to paint a guitar that a couple is going to use in their wedding as a guest sign in. its a 70's acoustic guitar that they just want purple. just got it today so im pretty excited to do this for them. and ive also been working on my buick....sheesh i need a girl

That's great! I particularly like the racecar themed Strat. That looks really smooth. |
