Anyone seen anything Non-Dean that they dig yet? I see alot of companies are releasing new model info pre-NAMM,I guess to build up excitement in a bad economy.I really like the Framus Wolf Hoffman sig V and New Gary Holt sig V from Schecter.

The other Dean company has some interesting stuff coming out. Seems like they're getting more variety now that Dean isn't there any more.

Yuck!!! The Nikki Sixx Schecter is an abomination! Not a fan of that New Holt either! I liked the Black and White and the Blood Splatter much better!

I'd like to see what Jackson is gonna do. ESP/LTD I dont know if I care lol don't get me wrong they make a great product. I just can't play most of their geets unlike Dean. Schecter had me last year but I doubt it this year. Hoping Ibanez will wow me. And I hope Peavey comes out with Vypyr successor this year.

Nikki posted a photo of his new bass. It's nice but I don't like it over the Gibson.

The ONLY thing I'm after this NAMM is this...

Kemper Power Rack... The original Kemper in a rack with a 600watt Class D power section. BOOOOOOOM!

The Kemper rack is soemthing people have asked for a long time. the power amp going with it is a good idea but I think the "basic" unit will appeal more to studio/bedfroom guys.
As an axefxII owner I'd like to try it but it's pure useless GAS as having both is really redundant.

Other than that, what caught my eye was Ibanez this year, they are releasing so much good stuff. And they took the hint and most of them have third party piclcups already. Not gonna buy one but the 7 string JEM looks real pretty.

One cool thing Kemper is doing is letting owners send their units back and paying for a power amp to be fitted in to existing units. They just announced that today.

YES YES YES YES.

Love the new USA Strat, the '52 relic tele, carved top jazzmaster and the supersonic 22 head from Fender.

I quite like the new LPJ from Gibson, too.

I own a Kemper and I have to tell you it is one of the best things I have bought in years! I have tried everything including Axe FX, and to me the Kemper is way more natural to a real amp! Expensive, but a great studio piece.

At that point I think I'll make more progress working on my mix skills than switching equipment to tell the truth. ^^

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with mixing skills. Some of the most brilliant artists out there who are also studio geniuses are also using this gear. Are you saying they don't have the right mixing skills?

Does the kemper come with amp models in it already? I remember seeing that it will "absorb" and mimic any amp after profiling but I didn't look into it enough to understand it. I thought that without having the original amps to profile into the kemper I would be stuck with an expensive paper weight.

Uh, no, I was saying that since I own pretty much top gear, switching gear for me would bring minimal benefit, while my mixing skills being abysmal, I'd get a much better return on working on them. I'm one of those guys that do not have any studio training and make do with learning what they can when they can.

That said, I was just coming back here to comment on the FMIC catalog, there's an interesting series of 7 string Jacksons coming in. A middle level broderick sig and dinky and a couple entry level ones.

the rest of the new Jacksons can be seen on their website. Nothing really that interests me, just new signatures and some horrible looking things.

Yep, Same that I saw. The only sig model from Jackson I like is the Phil Demmel V. Cool Cool Cool

I like the Wolf V. He's a pretty under-rated guitarist imo.

Diggin some of Ibanez's new stuff. Jackson was meh other than the cheap Broderick. I did like the new Corey sig but it was only USA.Figures. Cant find anything from ESP/LTD other than the Elite series stuff. PRS hasnt done anything special in my book. Dont see anything from Peaveys site either.

From an ESP Dealer on another Forum (and this was not received very well).

----------------------------------

Ok after much discussion as to what is happening with ESP in 2013 and at NAMM here is the 2013 Line Up...

They have made big changes at ESP and are targeting the actual ESP branded guitars to be the best of the best with only Artist Signatures and Custom Shop pieces.

They have also consolidated their shops in Japan to one Master Custom Shop.

2013 Will be a transitional year as the make the move to only have ESP on the aforementioned Artist Signature Guitars and Custom shop they will still a reduced line up of ESP Standard series in 2013 while they phase them out (i.e.: Sell the guitars already built and warehoused).

They will introduce the new ESP LTD Elite line up at NAMM 2013 and these are a bridge between the less expensive LTD's and the new Custom Shop and Signature ESP's. From what I can see the new LTD Elite is the old ESP Standard series quality which is very similar to Edwards branded guitars in Japan and are totally pro guitars and nice.

So without further ado below in the new 2013 ESP Line up. The ESP Standard, LTD Elite and regular LTD's are available now. The new ESP Signature Series will not be shipping until about 5 months after NAMM.

I personally think ESP is moving in the wrong direction. I just don't see the LTD line as being desirable by most players. Why bother creating and trying to build upon an "LTD Elite" line of guitars?

Big mistake for ESP imo.

Those new Jackson's are made in Mexico, FYI. The Japanese factory is no more.

the bottom part of those Jacksons looks like they're leftovers from Mark Mortons guitars Laughing
