Nice thing about the finishes on Norlins, and particularly the silverbursts, is that the paint schemes were done to a less rigorous format than you get these days. Nowadays, you'll go out and buy a guitar and they'll all look the same, but every single one of those Norlins was different in its own special way.

I didnt know that about the Norlins. I thought they were all painted in batches so they came out really close to eachother if not identical.

Two things........
1. My dad's wife's son has a SB LP from that era. Suffice it to say that yours is in significantly better condition than his. And the silverburst job looks better.

Thanks...I actually have a PRS with non-lacq. Indian Rosewood & it's just like this & plays very nice , this one has some low action! I think they did it to match the Black Back , its Matted , almost like a Gun-Metal look.

What do you mean? On the Vintage 82' you mean? Gotta LOT of Glare from the SUN and those are big Clouds, not Haze.

The First pic is from the Ceiling Fan Bulb inside...all I know is I just got a text saying you were calling my guitar Finish Crap and I wanted to verify, cuz I would not think you would do that , especially if you look close enough and see the Light Bulbs from the First and Clouds and Sun from the Second, maybe I should re-shoot, & show the "TRUE" Finish unless again someone told me wrong and misinterpreted what you said, which is what I am thinking, and giving ya the Benefit of the Doubt Homey... cuz I just got back from a GIBBY Luthier and he said out of the 10-15 Norlins he played over the Years, that was in his top 3...I am trying to Humble as I can but on my life I just received a text and wanted to Verify my friend Wink

not trying to down the mood but my sister has spent $40,000 & 13K each time she tries cuz her eggs will not take, INDIMITRIOSOS , & We are Praying this is the one cuz I am single , no Girl or Kids , Hence all the guitars & sometimes I think I would give it all up just for her , if not Myself! I have lots of Friends but still a loner type of guy & as I get older , all I see Myself is having a Wife & baby , so when people see me with all these nice guitars , remember it's just temporary Happiness ...Don't get me wrong it brings me Joy but a Family really would , even if I got to live Vicariousely through her Wink

On the other note, thank you. I dont know if you just happened to remember the thread about my son or happened to read it just now looking at my post history but the fact that you took the time to read about him and show support means a lot to me. From the bottom of my heart I thank you.

Back to guitars. Tske more pics if you want but I seriously wasnt looking at any haze or reflections. I just picked one thing to talk a little s#%t and I figured the clearcoat coment obviously has no base in reality and wouldnt be taken seriously for a second. Even if there was blems in the clear, I would club a baby seal to get my hand on either guitar Smile
