Reccommend me some pedals that will make my tone thick and full -not distorted gain- but just ambient and large. Especially lead tone. I'd love a satriani-esque tone.
Go.
Remember I play vintage spec'd single coils. |

EHX Metal Muff gives a lovely thick, organic tone. The only reason why I got rid of mine was because I got a tube amp. When I was with my old band I used it straight in to an MG100 and it did the job nicely.
Check out them Blackstar drive pedals aswell dude |

Can't go wrong with a Muff. I use the Little Big Muff (same circuitry as the original, just not in paving-slab size) and there's no other way to describe it other than PHAT.
Really thickens up single coils, you can get some serious sounds just from playing about with the tone/saturation knobs on the pedal and the tone knob on your guitar. |

I would go for a muff, but I'm putting a mini fuzz face on the board as my fuzz tone instead.
But maybe I'll get one for giggles. |

A good fuzzbox will put you in good stead either way. My favourite thing to do with singlecoils and a fuzzbox is to turn the fuzz about 3/4 the way up, boost the mids a little then switch to your neck pickup and roll the tone all the way off.
It gives you this really lo-fi, woolly fuzz sound with lots of odd little harmonics; it's great for off-kilter little lead licks over a crunchier rhythm sound.
Dat fuzz. |

I'm gonna have to pass right now, man. I'm gonna buy a new amp, then start my pedal board. But will hit you up if I get that quickly. |

I take a different route. Digitech Grunge and a Boss AC-2. The acoustic pedal really tightens and thickens the grunge. |

are you getting your gain from your amp or do you have a pedal in the chain that does it?
With my rig, I use a ZW OD pedal, with the gain at ZERO. It tightens the bottom end, and thickens the tone up overall. |
Well, I still have that line 6 spider 4 which I've had 3 years. But now its time to move on up. Looking at a 6505 or Fender Hot Rod. Then I'm gonna start building my pedal board. I want a thick, ballsy sound. But not high gain.
But right now, I'm using the clean channel on the amp because let's face it, the dirty channels are sterile sounding. I use my MXR Custom badass OD into my nano muff right now for giving it the beans. This is what tone I have now:

The Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster pedal does exactly what you are asking. It makes single coils sound like humbuckers. All those other pedals add gain, or color your tone. If you are looking for that, then that is fine. If you are really looking to make single coils sound fatter like a humbucker and nothing more, the Pickup Booster is your pedal. |

I don't understand... In your first post you specifically said NOT distortion or gain, but the whole thread has been about gain pedals. Don't you have the BAOD? Turn the 100K knob clockwise to add some punch to single coils... If you want to add depth and dimension to your tone you can use a chorus, reverb and or delay. |

I'm not the one suggesting pedals Lanning. I asked for help, not the one giving help.
I do have the BAOD, yes. I do know how to use it, I use it everyday.
But its just an OD really, not a full balls out ambient pedal.
Chorus, Reverb, Delay.. but which pedals would you recommend? |

If your specific guitar tone, not the overal sound is not thick enough then nothing will beat the Voodoo Labs Giggity. It's a guitar mastering pedal that will let you completely manipulate your tone without adding gain. You can make your guitar sound like whatever you want. It's like running your guitar through an analog console and mastering it before it hits the amp. You can make it add gain if you want some but it's not an OD pedal.

The only difference being that the Duncan Pickup Booster is around $50, and the Giggity is around $150. Granted the Giggity does a s#%t-ton more stuff. If he's got the ching, than the Giggity is also a good way to go. |

It's great because it really helps get a specific studio tone for your live setup, or if you're in a studio without a great board to "sauce up" that tone you have some mastering control before it hits the board you're using. (By board I mean console, not pedalboard).
It also can be used for an overdrive if you crank the levels. I like this pedal very much and have used one a lot. |

have you checked out the new ehx tone tattoo it's the metal muff, neo clone chorus, and memory toy analog delay. I'm pretty interested in them the demo videos sound pretty good and you may be able to fill a few vacancies on your pedalboard with one pedal. |

Like lanning said earlier, Delay, Reverb, Chorus and you'll proably be good along with the pedals you already have.
That giggity is pretty cool but I'd start with the basics of it all. |

Lanning, does the Giggity work like a BBE Sonic Stomp at all? I have the sonic stomp, but I feel like my tone needs a little more 'character'. |

No, not at all. It's a mastering pedal. It allows you to take the dry guitar tone and change it to what you want. The Sonic Stomp is a completely different kind of effect. I'm not a proponent of the Maximizer on a guitar. For Pro Audio (DJ and live sound) yes, but guitar, no. |
