Some may find this blasphemous.... But I think it's just plain kicka$$ Gibson single pup R8...
Basking in the sun with my R9...

Hows the intonation on that, Chuck? I see no saddles.
Its a beauty. |

I love these. Joe Bonamassa rocks one and I cant help but think that they would be more resonant as there is one 1 pickup.
How does it compare to the R9? |

Spot on! That was my concern as well with the wrap-tail.... but apparently Gibson has positioned the bridge perfectly. That, and the bridge has individual adjustment screws at each post to help as well. |

Funny... I saw Joe rockin' one too and I thought it was the coolest looking LP!
It definitely has a different tone.... perhaps a bit more woody and open is the best way to describe it.
My R9 still holds the number one position |

Interesting.
I would've thought (because of the lack of saddles), that intonation would be off if you change the string gauge. |

WOW that is nice!
As far as intonation you can always add an adjustible saddle wrapaouind if it isn't in tune enough with the adjustability that it has.
There is a saying on another forum I know of that goes, Intonation is for Puddies or Sissies, errr warm fussy things, ok, something like that. |

I've noticed PRS has gone to using similar bridges (on the imports, at least). IMHO, perfect intonation isn't as import as some people make it out to be. How many acoustics have adjustable intonation? |

hahaha, sorry guys, completely off topic.
But I just can't help it:
every time I see Longhurstgb's toiletpaper clip, I start giggling and it increases and the more I look at it, the harder i have to laugh.
You can simply almost hear her nagging and shouting and giving the typical stuff. It's sooo childish and therefore funny....
AWESOME, happy-maker every friggin' time
Sorry, on topic.
EDIT: watched it again and laughed till tears.
Maybe its just the moment, I dunno.... |
