As far as I know the difference is wattage and depending on the model (Mark I or II) it may be made abit differently.. Also no. Dime only used 200's.
Kinda like how certain people use the 80es instead of the 100es.. It's abit quieter.

We've got one of these in our practice space.
It has a LOT less volume than a 200.
It'll work with a live band, but you have to have the master
up pretty high.
When I've used it, I used a Parametric EQ in the loop as both a
frequency and volume boost.

I don't know what the output on the 170 is but the 200 is 120 watts.
