Ok guys, so I went with the eleven rack. I know lanning, I know.

I need a midi controller now. I'm new to midi, and I don't quite understand it in depth. But every controller I see had like ten buttons and express pedals, etc. I don't want anything this big. Guy in my band has an fcb1010 if I need it. I literally just want a 4 button foot switch to switch between 4 set presets. Any ideas??

Yeah I saw that too. Even that seems overkill. I literally just want something I can use as a foot switch..is there nothing simpler?

Are you sure you don't want something like the first two because of the banks.

Hughes and kettner do a nice one with 4 presets, bank up and down and a tap tempo button and it's in a single strip too.

it's called FSM 432 MK II

the randall pedal sends 3 midi commands. This = 3 presets and only 3.

But could I set which three I'll be able to choose from? I just don't understand why I'd need any more than that. As long as I can set 3 specific fully defined presets, then that's all I need. This is exactly what I will use live:

Clean with delay or other minor effects
Metal preset
Same metal preset with boost

If I went with a 4 button I might add a clean with boost. Could I do that with a dead simple foot switch like this? Other than live I have no need for a pedal as I could just use the buttons on the amp.

What is the need to go through banks and hundreds of presets and everything?

You can set the 3 you want.

The need to go through the banks and patches is so you can use the unit to its ability. it's not a 2 channel amp, it's a million complete rigs.

If you only need 3 then the randall will work.

yeah.. i understand. the way i see it, is the ability to have a million rigs gives me the ability to simplify my entire setup and entire chain all into one device. and to be able to go through all of these options to find the perfect tone for me. but i play rhythm in a metal band... so live.. all I will need is 2-4 complete rigs.

at home, i will certainly mess around with everything, but i figure when i do that there's no need for the pedal when i can just use my hands
