The electrics have been pretty much untouched, but have been bashing on the Taylor quite a bit lately.
What am I playing? Badly. |

Gotten really into learning Mastodon's more difficult, proggy stuff lately.
Also started a new side project that's got a big stoner/desert rock influence (like Kyuss, Sleep, Fu Manchu, etc). |

i have been picking out certain solos or lead lines to work on. i have been stuck in the pentatonic scale since i started playing at 14, and i want to make a change. i try to find stuff with oddball chord changes. i got a program to slow down MP3's and it's helped tremendously. like most of you, i play totally be ear. the last two things i worked on were the solo from toto's "rosanna" and the 4-bar bridge break before the last verse from genesis' "abacab". i check youtube a lot is it's amazing how incorrect some of the "lesson" videos are. |

I too am gearing back up acoustically. When I do play electric, it has been my Cadillac with Pearly Gates set through the Fender Blackface model. |

This month's Acoustic Guitar Magazine had The Decemberists, "Down by the Water" and Bill Monroe's "Blue Moon of Kentucky" tabs. So I have been playing them. And yes, I actually really like both of those songs. |

Bill Monroe is cool. Check out the Del McCoury Band. Especially the song Black Lightning 1952. Or Hello Lonely. Del was asking for requests at Bloom Heavy River Romp this year and he played that for me. I almost pooped my pants. |
