I used to play this album all of the time, hadn't listened to it in 20-some years and it has been on heavy rotation over here lately.

on a whim, I picked up the new Stone Sour the other day. Got a chance to listen to it all the way through this morning, and it seems like a pretty solid record. Apparently it's a two part deal, so I'm curious how the second part will sound.

You're lucky bro. I'm anxiously waiting for them to come here. Soon enough though. I got to watch engineering for the sound on the new live tracks as well as their tv appearances. Our engineer was doing the last of their engineering for the live stuff when we got to the studio. Biffy sent him a Kemper so he can send them the sounds he created. They are big Kemper users. Their new album was recorded in the same studio we are in right now! Very Happy

I have been to see Biffy Clyro twice, and the band are nothing short of exceptional live. Simon Neil has a massive live tone! Blackened Sky and Puzzle are amazing.

That's awesome! They all seen like really nice guys. Everyone assumes the Lead singers name is Biffy, but he is Simon. The band is Biffy Clyro Laughing

They sound so huge for a 3 piece (4 with their live guitarist). I've seen a few love streams of festivals they've played, etc and the sound really awesome!

I've been on a bit of a German metal kick lately

Accept - Blood of the Nations & Stalingrad

Kreator - Phantom AntiChrist (a bad-ass album)

Primal Fear

Running Wild

I never listened to Running Wild until last week even though I'd heard of them years ago. They've got some good tunes

Rolling Stones, have been jamming a lot of their stuff for a while now though.

And lots of Warren Haynes.

And Joe Walsh.

Edit: also some old R&B stuff, Otis Redding and stuff like that. And some hair metal.

I've been listeneding to teh band "death" for abit now. Chuck [RIP] was really a very skilled guitarist, but more importantly, as he went on he wrote some really interesting lyrics that got better with time, and were actualy prety thought provoking.

I've also been listening to a lot of Immortal and Demonoz. The album Demonaz just put out "marsh of the norse" isn't technically amazing, but every fits. it has a great sound.

As I Lay Dying
Threat Signal
Kill Devil Hill
Stone Sour
All that Remains
Trivium
Crowbar
Unearth

I think those have been in a permanent rotation for about a month in my car. The new Stone Sour is a very solid record. Awesome production, guitar playing, and guitar tone.

One of my all-time favorite bands and Chuck has influenced my playing/writing immensely. From Scream Bloody Gore to The Sound of Perseverance, not a bad album in the bunch. If you are a fan of Chuck, check out his other band, Control Denied if you haven't already.

Love Death!! I listen to most speed and thrash metal. Been hitting the older Testament pretty hard right now. The first 2 albums are pure thrash man. I am 43 years old, so I was in the prime thrash era.

Hell yeah! I've been listening to The Legacy a lot lately - Burnt Offerings, Alone in the Dark, The Legacy... the first two albums are f'ing classic! Yeah, I am 40, was lucky enough to see Testament, Slayer, Metallica, Motorhead, etc. back in the 80s, hoping to catch Exodus with Anthrax next month when they come through here.

Local guy that is way under the radar. Completely opposite of the above. First saw him in a tiny bar in Mystic two years ago. I make it a point to see him play now. He's playing at the place I run soon too now.

I've been getting into Biffy Clyro recently also. I saw Simon Neil's Strat online and was like who the fu... then did a search and was like Biffy WTF? Then heard them on Sirius XM and saw the threads here. I'm digging the new album, but definitely want to check out their other stuff.

Man, one of the bands I was in opened for AC on 9/11/01. We hung a flag that night and they asked if they could use it for their set, but we politely declined being familiar with their stage show.
