The Dean Forum is a constantly-changing community, made up of past and current owners of Dean guitars. There are also quite a few people roll through here as prospective buyers or seekers of wisdom. Yes, there are fans of past and present Dean guitarists that also frequent our corner of the internet.
For the new folks that are interested in joining the Dean Owners of America, please send an email to Wayne at DOAWayne@gmail.com. If you'd like to make sure the info gets to the right destination, you can also copy me at DOAJim@gmail.com and/or Brave Dave at doa.pres@gmail.com.
To get you signed up, please include the following info in your email:
1. Name
2. Address / City / State / ZIPCode / Country (as in.....your mailing address)
3. Phone Number
4. Screen name as registered here on the Forum
5. Email address of choice
After you've sent the information, Wayne will send you an email with your very own official DOA membership number.
Information sent for membership will not be used for SPAM mail or revealed to anyone. By joining, it will not generate a slew of emails for HGH, low interest mortgages, personal enhancement, college degrees or a link to the next Paris Hilton video. The only people that will have the complete membership list are Wayne, me and Dave(and Dave doesn't read so well....).
If you're outside America, don't let that part of the name discourage you from joining. We have manymany members from around the world.
The best part? It's free.
Sign up and be a part of the community.

Wherefore art my membership? I e-mailed to get it, but alas I have no number. Am I to remain a lowly board poster in spite of my agressive Dean purchasing and fouling of thine fine board?
Giveth forth mine Dean membership number so I may join thee in the quest for the holy guitar!

I just checked the Hotmail account and there's nothing there from you.

Hey, all you new members to the Forum!
Sign up for the DOA.
We're running behind pace for new membership. Every year has seen an increase in enrollment, but the '04 crop is currently behind the '03 total.
C'mon, you know you want to join. Take the two or three minutes necessary and send the email with the info noted above.
No, not tomorrow. Do it today. Beat the holiday rush.

No kidding. I've played the Gibson Faded V and the '67 V and my VX plays as good, if not better, as those 2. So with that mind I just thought about it and said forget it, good prices and Gibson quality, who can beat that. |

You sent it to Dave and he forwarded it to me last night.
I'll be updating the list and issuing a number to you on Monday.
Consider yourself enrolled. I'll try to look around to see if I can figure out the last number I've issued so far and assign one to you.
Your information is in the correct hands. I'll get you signed up.

With all of the new folks wandering in to see what the buzz is all about, don't forget to sign up.
For the cost of an Internet stamp on an email, you can join. They haven't done that yet? OK, then it really is free.

You're signed up. Check your email.
At the rate some of the folks buy and sell guitars around here, we'd never have an accurate list. Register it with the company and that'll suffice.
Pictures of what everyone owns are strongly encouraged for gawking, though.

Then your options are:
1. Resend it to me at the hotmail address
2. Give it a few days to get you signed up (or whenever Senor Dave decides to check his email when he gets back from his vacation)

One question, is the DOA restricted to Dean owners in the US? What about us Dean players in Europe and such? |

In the odd event that a physical mailing is ever done to the group members.
It has happened before and a whole bunch of folks got miffed that they hadn't either provided an address or updated to a new address on the list.

And another thing.....
There are only two people that have access to the DOA Member List. That would be me and Dave. He gets a copy of it every once in a while as a backup.
Home addresses, phone numbers and email addresses are not shared or sold for spam purposes.
Neither I nor Dave are going to show up at someone's house and kick in their bedroom or basement window to swipe guitars. I've no desire and he hasn't read the instruction manual on how to use a crowbar yet.

I guess it just seemed a little wierd that you would need an address, but if anything was ever mailed, it would be useful to supply your address. Do you need a zip/postal code also? |

Yes, I do.
1. Name
2. Street / City / State / ZIP
3. Phone #
4. Screen name
5. email address
Note to our overseas friends......please provide a mailing address in the format you'd normally use in your country. I've got a column in the memberlist specifically for country. Allows me to sort and count you guys easily, too.

To all of the new folks to the Forum:
Refer to "How To Join" details on Page 1 of this thread. Easier than tying your shoes.
Unless you've got those Velcro ones, like Dave. He couldn't grasp that whole "Bunny Rabbit around tree" concept for tying his laces.

We've had a lot of new folks join the Forum, as well as those that are re-joining after the previous Forum got melted down.
For the new folks that are interested in joining the Dean Owners of America, please send me an email at doa_jim@hotmail.com or Dave at bravedave@deanguitars.com with:
1. name
2. address
3. phone #
4. screen name as registered here on the Forum
5. email address
After you've sent the information, I'll send you back an email with your very own official DOA membership number.
Information sent for membership will not be used for SPAM mail or revealed to anyone. By joining, it will not generate a slew of emails for HGH, low interest mortgages, personal enhancement, college degrees or a link to the next Paris Hilton video. The only two people that will have the complete membership list are me and Dave(and Dave doesn't read so well....).
If you're outside America, don't let that part of the name discourage you from joining. We have manymany members from around the world.
The best part? It's free.
Sign up and see your name mentioned in the next DOA newsletter. How cool is that?
Jim

What else does membership entail, besides " very own official DOA membership number" & "name mentioned in the next DOA" Thanks. |

See details on page one of this thread for the "how-to" for enrollment in the Dean Owners of America/DOA.
All kinds of new folks posting these days and there's no time like the present.
Don't wait.
Don't hesitate.
Gather the info, send the email and make it official by signing up and getting your very own one-of-a-kind DOA Membership Number.

+1. My whole life changed when I got my number. Its like a lightbulb went off in my head. At that moment I knew what my purpose on this earth was. It was a great feeling. |

My email address had changed since I joined DOA. What is the process of updating the DOA records of my email address so I get the monthly newsletter? |

The process is to send me an email at either
doa_jim at hotmail.com
or
doajim at gmail.com
You've no idea the number of email bouncebacks that I get when I send out the link for the newsletter. It's a real PITA.

I'd register for a DOA number, but alas, I have no Dean, although I'm feigning for a White Gold V like no other. I already feel like enough of a poser just by being on the Dean forums in the first place when all I own are Jacksons (pre-Fender mind you) Gibsons and <<that little Washy there, so getting a DOA number will have to wait until I get my White Gold. Damnit. |

That is your personal choice.
All are free to join, Dean ownership is not a condition of acceptance.
Hell, there are even some members and posters here that do not even play. |
