Here are some pics from Friday night when Don came over to the house. He contacted me, and with very short notice, we made arrangements to meet and jam for a while. Don is going back to Korea soon, and I wanted to meet with him before he left Texas. My wife and I had a really good time talking to Don, and we had fun in the guitar arena as well. Since we were consuming adult beverages, I never got around to showing him all of my guitars, as I began getting sleepy and forgot. Sorry 'bout that, Don. Very Happy

By the way, how did you find your way out of here, Don? We were still asleep when you left.

Don is the second DOA member to come to my place, and ironically, both members were coming from the Far East. Joe from Japan, and Don from Korea...sort of. Smile

Sounds like you guys had a blast.

Ha, I'll be in Austin next weekend!!!

Actually I'm just going to tour the UT campus I should be attending in a year or so.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I'm still loving that Tropical ML, Marc (lewnworx) was over last night and really enjoyed playing it. I must thank you again for that awesome deal on the guitar.

Yeah, we did have a good time...didn't get to use the Red Bear, we only used the POD. I have some punk kids in the neighborhood, and I don't like to advertise that there is stuff in the house. And yes, I did give the "speed-picking" lesson, and also Don had me show him how to sweep-pick some arpeggios. He's a real nice guy, btw. Smile

Thanks Steph. You are most welcome for the ML, and I'm really glad you are enjoying it. My wife says to give us a call next weekend if you'd like to stop by...but you may be too busy for that. In any case, since you'll be attending UT, perhaps we can hook up at some point when you have time.

Well if I were driving I don't think it would be a problem, but i'm going with a friend of mine so i'm not sure exactly what we are doing. Although, I'll probably be going to Austin several times between now and when I attend UT. So yeah it'd be great to meet both you and your wife. I'll bring the ML. Twisted Evil

Believe it or not, I made it out and back to base with no problems...not one wrong turn!!! Guess that's all that Army training to find your way into and out of trouble Laughing

I had a great time man. Dana and wife and Mikayla were all very nice, and the guitars I did see were awesome...

Now as to Dana's playing...

Well...I plugged in, showed him something, he plugged in, and it was about then I kinda spent more time watching *LOL*...Dana you can play!!! Joe was right when he said you was "da man"!!

Now as to your picking style, watching you pick hurt my wrist...I don't know how you do it but you are amazing at it nonetheless! I wish I could visit at least once more, but alas it is not to be so...however once I'm back from Korea I plan to look you up again...I want more lessons on sweep picking etc.

Thanks again Dana for meeting with me, it was a blast...

And guys...Dana's wife is one hell of a cook!!!

Thanks Don, for your nice compliments. I look forward to hanging out with you again when you get back from Korea. You are welcome at our home any time. Next time, we'll open ALL the guitar cases. Laughing

Dim3...that red Marshall actually is not a Lead 15, but a Lead 12. It is one of the old, original ones made in the 1980's, and was made in England before Marshall started having stuff made in China. They even have Celestions in them. But...not for sale, bro'. Very Happy

As for the pics, apparently my stupid account can only be accessed a limited number of times a day, so whoever looks at the pics first gets to see them, and then they cut me off. I would never have used this service had I known this...wasted all that time uploading pics that hardly anyone can see. Sad
