Great to see that the village idiot of the DOA is still sharper than most knives in the guitar drawer *L*

My turkey day SUCKED...went to a friend's house for dinner, and this annoying woman was there, one who constantly tries to get me to have something romantic to do with her, so I left early, and she followed me home...so I've been trying to avoid her, and yet she always finds me...and when I tell her to get lost she pulls that below 70 IQ type blonde routine...I don't like this woman, can't stand her...and she won't take the hint or being blunt...so I've been trying to avoid her all weekend long, and only today have I had any luck...

My Thanksgiving was crummy too (coz we don't have Thanksgiving - we get 'Australia Day' whoo hoo Rolling Eyes ) but free tickets to Aerosmith would brighten up any bad day. Shocked Dude, those guys rock out! You'll have a great time! I expect a full report! Wink

I almost feel guilty for saying this, but my T-giving was great. My daughter got out of the hospital the night before. We had about 18 total for dinner, including 4 visitors from Spain (they work with my MIL). They were so excited to be having an American Thanksgiving meal. They loved my Dean EVO FT, especially when I played them a couple of classic rock riffs (Tumblin Dice). They when bonkers over my Harley, too.

Anyway, surrounded by family, old and new friends, great food, good wine, and a ton of things to be thankful for. A very good Thanksgiving.

I saw TROUBLE onthursday they layed on a private party in a small pub for only 100 people!

KILLER!

Ozz you like Black Sabbath don't you? check TROUBEL out I bet you'll love em..sound like a heavily sabbath influenced metal band, it really cool I guess they existed since 1978, they recorded two albums for Rick Rubin's Def American label in the early 90's...

Well we had a great Thanksgiving - I did a regular turkey and a smoked turkey with sausage & cornbread dressing, mashed sweet potatoes, corn & oyster pudding, fresh cranberry relish, and bisquits & gravy. Dinner was served with a Nouveau Beaujolais it was good this year. Desert was made by my daughter in law - it was a bread custard pudding with dried cherries & chocolate and a killer chocolate sauce for the top. There were only seven of us this year and that made the day more relaxing.

NO WE DID NOT GO SHOPPING ON BLACK FRIDAY - Laughing

EXACTLY!!! Laughing
THey were SOOOOO out of tune most of the night that he changed them every song too. Of course, the one's Paul played were not the one he smashes, Those are precut to break easier, and are not plugged in when handed to him just before smashing.

Bah! I don't even like KISS that much. They should spell their name KI$$...

Then again it's not like Aerosmith's never stooped for a dollar. ("I don't wanna Miss A Thing" anyone?) Damn I hate ballads... Laughing

I Iost every bit o repect for KISS, I used to like the old stuff pre 1979, they wrote some cool songs but they have totally ruined their own legend!

Aerosmith the same case only less severe...thei are not looking too ridiculous and at least still play decent live...but their last 10 hits were terrible!

Again, I really dug the old Aerosmith rock songs from teh 70's and the early 80's but WHY did they have to turn into a lame ballad band!

But hey who cares there's still loads of people paying top dollar to see the show, I would prolly be doing the same...

I rather refer to Motorhead or AC/DC who never mellowed out or lost their integrity, I am not lying when I say I saw AC/DC live in 2001 paying a mere $ 25 for a ticket.....

+1! They don't even play most of those ballads live! AFAIK they mostly play the 70's rock songs at shows.

That last album Just Push Play got one spin in the CD player before I tossed it. Terrible! They should realise that they're not 'playing to the Teens' anymore and get back to rocking out. Rocking out is becoming a lost art form. Evil or Very Mad

Here is the setlist from Detroit last night:
Dude Look Like A Lady
Love In A Elevator
Toys In The Attic
Livin on the Edge
Pink
Jaded
Train Kept A Rollin'
What it Takes
Stop Messin Around
Baby Please Dont go
Dream On
Back in the Saddle
Cryin
Walk THis Way
Sweet Emotion

Not a bad list for a Co-Headlining show.

That is true I also have problems with old metal acts trying to sound modern..like Judas Priest...I mean hey look at your audience they are not coming to hear that stuff!

Why bother people with those 5, 6 boring songs every night I don't object to a more modern approach and production of course...I mean the solo efforts of Rob halford were excellent!

Everybody is waiting for "breaking the law", "painkiller", "living after midnight" or "electric eye"...

And most acts that do so get punished with diminishing record sales, less attendance at concerts and less good reviews!
Just watch when Priest release a hopefully killer new album with halford back...they will play big halls again and get raving reviews!

That Aerosmith setlist looks killer BTW...I like 80% of thesongs!

I put on my KISS alive II a few days back it's still kickass...but man, I can't stand their attitude!

How about..........
Replace "Cryin" with "Nobody's Fault"
Move "Love In An Elevator" to the opener
Replace "Livin On The Edge" with "Gotta Love It"
Add "Walk On Down"
Add "Big Ten Inch Record"

I despise Aerosmith doing ballads. Whoever got them convinced to do ballads should be kneecapped.
