I agree, it has the same headstock as my Q5 that I bought in 1998. |

It's looking good.
Too cold to work in my shop right now, so I'm putting off pretty much all guitar work til it warms up. |

My garage/workspace isn't heated either, so whatever I do out there, I do it fast! I was up at 430 am this morning for some reason so I got the neck on my strat project to line up correct finally. I had to dowel fill and redrill all the holes (twice) before I got a good snug fit that made the strings line up right. Now i'm just waiting for all the stuff I got off ebay to arrive! Hey remember that Dean strat neckthru thing I got awhile back? You interested? I sanded the bejesus out of it and repainted it (badly) only to find out the truss rod nut is missing! I can't find a replacement either as it's apparently an odd size. The neck is good and straight unstrung, but I'm not going to put any more money into that project without a working truss rod. I'm glad I found that out before I paid $$$ for a Kahler to put on it. On another note, I hit one of my local pawn shops today and they had a nice looking black Dean Performer E hanging there. I tuned it up real quick and was looking it over because they only wanted $169, when I realized the headstock was cracked all the way through from top to bottom! I was heartbroken. I was that close to being a Dean owner again. |

Don't remember the neckthru (I've been an infrequent visitor since the board changed, and had slacked off reading everything even before that) but I think I've got enough to keep me going for a while, thanks.
Sounds interesting tho. Are you able to measure the thread size?
Could you get that kind of parts info from customer service here? |

If I could get the truss rod out I could measure it. Maybe that's the ticket, if I can get it out without damaging the threads. Hmmmm. Back to the Bat Cave. |

Late 1990's till present, same headstock as on my Q5 from 2002. Keep the quilt black on the top but get rid of the stupid anarchy symbol on the back (unless your into that sorta stuff) and paint it a nice transparent black. All the quilted Edges are trans on the backs.
Now that I look at it closer the fool spray painted the back Dumbass... strip the @#$%&$@ paint off and it'll look nice again. Never seen a natural Edge before, wonder what one would look like with the wood and all. Post some pics after u re-paint if you do. |
