It's quite a cool little unit. Bought it for home playing / recording purposes. I haven't had too much time with it, but I got some cool usable sounds from it instantly. Most of the effects are good too. I think it will be fine home gear for me!
Thanks for the inspiration Thor!
For those who don't know what it is, it's a POD "copy" with lot's of features and much cheaper that POD. Check it out on http://www.behringer.com/02_products/prodindex.cfm?id=V-AMP2&lang=eng

Well, time will tell. But the first impressions were very good!

Congrats on the V-Amp. Do a yahoo search on these, as I think there are a few forums that provide a lot of information on their use, along with do-it-yourself patches and new settings.
I bought a Johnson J-Station a while ago that's similar to the V-Amp. It's been a lifesaver during the apartment living.

Thanks Jim for the heads up. I found this site: www.v-amp.com seems pretty good.
And so true about apartments. We are stuck in one, for now. You on the other hand won't be needing it much longer

Closing appointment is 9:00 am on January 8th. The guitars are going over in one of the first loads.
The prices on these types of units appears to be really dropping for all except the POD. The MF catalog that came in the mail yesterday had several different types for pretty reasonable prices.

Jim,
That's great!
POD prices are way too high. POD XT is $565 and XT Pro is $896 here!
Way too much for a home gear.

in my opinion, a v-amp will never take the place of a kick butt amp for playing live, but for simple recordings, man are they handy. Out 18 year old has one, and I borrow it every time I need to record. Its just so much easier to plug it into the board, dial in and play, than drag out my amp, mic it up, hook up all the pedals and all that. |

Our old lead player bought one of those. They're great but, don't lose the instructions!
They now have them in a rack mount and floor version. |

Hmmm, I gotta look for a V-amp! I can rarely crank my 100w amp, so the V-amp might come in handy when I'm using my 15w Squier bass amp. |

I don't know about the V-Amp, but the J-Station also offers a couple bass modeling modes on it.
Johnson discontinued the J-Station and they can be had for a very reasonable price.

Nice little unit.
I used to hate amp modeling stuff, but over the past few years they've really started nailing it...
Behringer is a good company too.
Good reliable equipment for the budget musician. |

there are plenty of people out there that will tell you that behringer makes crappy gear, and I'll admit that there is better stuff out there, but for the price a lot of it is hard to beat. me and my son have both been happy with the v-amp 2, and I've never had a problem with my behringer compressor and 16 channel mixer. sometimes us musicians on a budget have to go with what we can afford... |

I have a V Amp too. The sounds are quite good for home demoing and practise with the headphones. However, construction could be better. Mine is missing all but 3 of it's knobs and the power jack is pretty f###ed up. It certainly won't replace a good tube amp live, but not that you have that problem Mikko! Hahaha! But an excellent little machine for home use. My neighbors love it. |

Granted. You can't always crank a Powerball in the apartment and expect to to A. be thrown out or B. have the builing fall down around you, so to that end the VAmp is a godsend. I'm a tube man all the way, but what can I say. It's a fun little machine. The Soldano patch (mod hi gain I think) is killer! |

And don't forget the wifey! I'm afraid of her more than my neighbours
And my amp is at the band practise place, so no chances.
