I was using the Chafin Ember prototype.

My Peavey Delta Blues 210, with the 212 extension Cabinet.

I run my effects through the loop as follows amp>Dunlop classic wah>TU2 Tuner>Visual Sound Jekyl & Hyde OD> Visual sound H2o Liquid Chorus & Echo>amp.

I use Samson Airline UHF wireless.

You put the wah wah and the overdrive in the effects loop? Hmmm... Never tried that. The Chafin sounds as good as it looks! Very Happy

Yeah I have been doing it that way and it works for me. If you use a lot of drive with the Jekyl and Hyde you have to back off a bit on the volume on the pedal.

I don't really use that much drive with it I use the amp lead channel pre and post for the heavy OD then set the Jekyl and Hyde for more subtle blues tones. With the wah set up the way I have it I can almost emulate talk box sound.

OK, here's a super below 70 IQ type-A$$ question -- I hear the background guitar, but the main tone is a harmonica -- right?

Nice! So, are you playing the rhythm with the neck in humbucking mode and the lead with the bridge split?

And man - can that guy PLAY the mouth organ - that's impresive!!

Chris,
Rhythm was with the neck pup Custom mini (CS-2), the lead was with both neck and bridge with the bridge pup (JB) split.

Diz,
James smokes on the harp, he is a protegee of the great James Cotton, hes a blast to jam with, it's always a high voltage time.

Matt,

I fake the chord part well. Thank god nobody ever asks me what key we are playing in.... Laughing I taught a class about the blues this year where Crissy teaches and the music teacher asked me to explain chord progressions and scales and I had to tell her I was the wrong person, while I know all about the keyboards from 10 years of lessons, I am totally self taught on the guitar.

There are about 6 -10 clubs that we all kind of gravitate to, that have blues nights, we all know each others music and it turns into a jam whenever we get together, all really improv, we talk about the numbers we are going to do during sound check and then it is just full out balz to the walz. That is why I like it so much, instead of the band B/S and politics involved with it. This is just great fun and great music with no egos in the way, its all about the music.

Bill,

Killer clean tone outta the Chafin "Ember", but can she growl? You have any recordings coming were we can hear her unbridled?

WOW Bill nice job. Very professional sounding. The jam clubs sound really cool. Wish we had something like that around here. I live in a very conservative christian area. Nothing wrong with that, I guess, just not a good area for blues to thrive. I know what you mean about the B/S and egos. Our singer just grew a huge head, and we're going through some B/S right now. I think he's gonna quit, so that might be a good thing.
Nice job! Like to hear more.
