Not sure about all their guitars, but I called Dean about the strings on my TC Z and they said 9's, possibly D'Addario. Hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure D'Addario 10's - they're good strings for factory. BTW - lose the poll thing!!!

No they are not Yamahas not D'Addarios, not Martins !!!!!!!!!

They are GHS on the USA guitars and they are 10's.

And I agree enough with the junior HS poll CrAp...give it a rest ask an intelligent question and you will get an answer.

I got a free sample of Electroharmonix 10s with a pedal I bought.

Now, I haven't used a whole lotta strings, but these are the best I've used so far. FOR REAL. They remained clean and bright for months.

Sound like you LOVE you EVO to bits Julian. I'm assuming that means you LOVE the way it sounds and plays? Why on Earth would you change the strings then? Chances are you won't be able to tell the difference at all and the salesman is just trying to get you to buy stuff from the store.

D'adarrio, Ernie Ball, GHS, DR's, whatever they are - they pretty much sound and feel the same. Manufacterer is no where near as important as construction material and guage.

Your probably right about GHS on the USA models (seeing how the strings are not colored,) but the guage issue seems to be up in the air for me. You say 10's, Dean says 9's. I guess I'll try both and see what happens. I've been told that there should be no intonation issues between 9's and 10's. Is that true?

When I had to adjust the neck on my TC Caddy, I called Mick and asked him what they used. I was told they used GHS 10-46s on the Caddy.

Tom,
I use the GHS Boomers TNT thin top and thick bottoms 10-52s, I am really pleased with them so far. I get the heavier bottom end without going to the heavier top 13s

I've found that to generally be true. If there are any serious intonation issues the string may be defective...I've had this happen more times than I'd like.

I too like spread sets like this. Where I'm using 10's I run the DR 10-52's and in one case DR 10-54 (one of my Strats). THe guitars I always use heavier strings on (my Jags and JM) I use T-I .011 or .012 flats. My Deans are strung with 10-52's and this seems to work for them (and me). Smile I haven't really noticed what any of the Deans came with but they seemed to be 9's which I don't care for. I normally restring a guitar as soon as I get it.

Mikko,
Do the 12-52s have a wound G string.

Hans,
I was a diehard D'Addario user for years until lately. I feel the same way the D'Addario's are more money and I don't notice any difference in tone.
