As most of you guys know, Im a Pontiac man for life but....
Pontiac totally dropped the ball with the GTO. I hate that car. Nothing has come out of Detroit in the past 20 years that has excited me except for the '87-'90 Trans Ams and some of the last Firehawks.
When I saw the 2 concept cars for the '05 Mustang I flipped. Ford has done their homework. The actual production car has changed slightly from the concept but they kept most of it and I still think its the best car from Detroit in almost 20 years. This Pontiac man is gonna have a Ford in his driveway in a year or 2.
Motor Trend did an article on the car in the February issue and the one they tested was silver with white stripes. I hope they make a black Cobra. Oh nelly I can see the speeding tickets now. |

My very first car was a '68 Mustang Coupe. The new Mustang looks pretty cool, too...............almost as cool as the '05 Vette!

I'm not a Ford fan, but have to admit, that does look pretty sharp. The new Vette looks awesome too - but then again, I may be a bit biased
she's sleeping for the winter now though |

Yeah Vette's have come a long way the past 20 years. They've been world class sports cars the last 10 or so. My wife has the hots for one of these Chevrolet SSR trucks.

New Vette is lame. Typical GM not giving a crap about what they make. Hmmm, lets take a car that looks halfway OK and make it look a little more like a Viper. They want to make every car they have look like something that its not. They figure they will get other manufacturer's buyers by making their car look like someone else's. The GTO is a prime example. Coulda looked like a GTO, gee imagine a GTO looking like a GTO? Instead they had to build it off an existing Austrailian made Holden that looks like a BMW/Lexus type car.
Gm shoots themselves in the foot yet once again. Just another nail in the coffin of a once mighty leader in the auto industry. I know a few members of the national Vette club. None of them like the new one. |

* waiting patiently for the re-release of the Mach 1*
I've had the pleasure of riding in many of the older muscle cars, but never owning one. Ford seems to get the short end a lot of the time, but THE FASTEST classic muscle I ever rode in or drove was a Ford... and not even a 'Stang...
A friend of mine in highschool received for his 16th b-day from his father who restored Galaxies... A 1971 Torino.... now, I know what you're thinking... a Torino???
yep, a Torino wth the following STOCK from the factory... a 429 SCJ, an SCJ 4-speed tranny and a 5:14 rear end... said friends dad did a little modifacation... redid the heads, balanced and blueprinted the motor, and put a little more rubber on the back end... the result? The only "$100.00 bill" car I ever rode in.

When I was growing up we had one of the first 1965 Mustangs. A 289...very sweet.
I think the new Mustang is hot. I also like the new Vette, mainly for the performance numbers coming out(see the new Autoweek). 0-60 in 4.3 for the C6!!
The ZO6 due out next year is rumoured to have 500 horses. When I bought my lowly 350 HP C32 AMG 2 years ago I thought I would be on the HP top of the hill. No chance... I'll still trade it for my old 429 SCJ Mustang any day. That car was scary as hell and I'm surprised I'm still alive after owning that beast. |

Cool, they really nailed it, eh? Modernistic/retro all at the same time. My son has a '88 'stang convertible. I was always a Chevelle/Camaro guy. But I NEED a BIG OLE 4X4 to get up my snowy driveway out here in real mans'land! And it's gotta pull a tandem axle trailer full O' drums and amps and guitars and merch., and it's gotta sit four or five in airconditioned comfort across two to three state lines. So for me right now, it's a Dodge Ram Crew Cab 4X4 SLT. Tilt, cruise,p-locks, p-windows, p-mirrors and p-seats, and a rompin stompin stereo! Thing eats tires, tho... I gotta admit that I dig the new Mazda R/car, tho. Midlife crisis, indeed! Hi little girl, need a ride? I can tell by your uniform that your'e a Catholic school girl! |

Yeah I could afford a really old one but certainly not a new BMW...I believe a simple 3 series is bout € 40.000 already...
I bought my small SKODA FABIA new 2 years ago and it is a very cool car ultra reliable (I never thought I would ever say that about a SKODA) and drives great..
I like the styling a lot too but it of course has a major VW influence, I love VW's too......
I don;t feel teh need for a really big car here in the urban areas...driving is expensive anough already simple Unleaded gas costs € 1,12 a Liter at the moment...so go figure! |

Seems that car's cost there as much as here!
And Skoda's are good cars these days because they belong to VAG company, the same that manufacturer's Audi's and VW's.
Gas here cost's about the same as there. Between 1.0? - 1.15? / litre
And the insurance. It ain't cheap! Even though I have a used car right now( '97 528). Lot's of euros going down every month with cars...

That is just the Ford GT. The original was the GT40 but there are legal issues with that name. I think a french company still owns the rights to the GT40 name so Ford simply used GT instead. Its an awesome car. They are already in production and available to the public. Ford has their crap together for sure. Chrysler is close with their new cars. The Magnum SRT 8 Hemi powered wagon is a cool car. The new Vette looks like a door wedge. The GTO is an abortion and a disgrace to the heritage of the nameplate. I used to despise Ford but in this day and age they are the company to deal with when it comes to RWD V8 performance with style. |

Faster - yep, more power - yep - better looking - guess again. Chevy's Vet designers couldn't come up with something original if they tried. That new Mustang shows a design team that has originality and some creativity to it. All the Vette team did was put a viper front end on a way too old design. I used to love Vet's - but they have become soooooo predicatable they are a big yawn!! |

I think Stangs rock! I've had 2 GT's and am thinking about this new one. I like the new design but they missed one thing.....where's the damn hood scoop?!? |

dudes, Fords ain't so bad. I was fortunate to become the owner of a tasty 1969 NEAR MINT Ford Fairlane this past Oct.
MY first car!!
i can't describe how happy I am to have it. No cracks in any of the black vinyl, and just a bit of pitting in one spot on the cream paint job. -which I plan to remedy this upcoming summer with a slick black paint job. (if I can get my '79 v in black, they will match!)
..and 30g's aint too bad for that new mustang, I would smoke the tires daily! |

REALLY??? I always thought that the GT40 was a prototype/race car not available to the public. Never seen em before on the road...Oh well. Thanks dude, sorry for the mistake.
Chevy's are still better then Fords.......The classic ones anyway......the REAL cars (60s-70s)....the Muscle Cars!!!! |

I think Ford GT is a "supercar" and belongs to the same group with MB SLR McLaren, Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo. Granted it's much cheaper than those, but performance vice, it's right there.
