Where's the PNG support?

Good things about PNG's:

1) Smaller than JPG's for the same image size. In fact, in many cases they're almost as small as GIF's but without the horrid 8 bit color limitation.

2) Inherent alpha channel support, which no other web format has, except for TIF's, which are often an order of magnetude larger..

However, I factor in that, like our other President, your ability to read ends at "See Spot run, run Spot run", so I can see where that would pose a difficulty.

image uploading is working like a charm for me.. however.. posting pics here in the good forum haven't been working for me..

i click on the little button up there 'img' then i insert the source code.. 'http://www.blah.com/pic.jpg' then click on the 'img' button to close.. then i hit 'preview' and all i see is code not pic..

Confused
